Adam stayed silent, watching on as the last of his Mother's ashes began wafting gently into the skies above. And then as if by a miracle of Divine intervention, the heavens seemed to part slightly and allowed a beam of light to pass through.

The light landed directly upon his Mother's funeral pyre, seeming to act as a bridge or a guide for her ashes as they were carried into Heavens above. Adam quietly brought up his hands and placed them together, bowing his head slightly as if to say goodbye.

He moved off of this pose a few moments later, turning away from the funeral pyre and securing a satchel that held all of the equipment he'd need for the journey ahead. Adam made his way towards the edge of the island, eventually passing by a few animals that were far enough away from him to not be knocked out.

They seemed to bow towards him with reverence; he had acted as their protector by slaughtering most of the apex predators and keeping any Sea Kings away, so they felt like owed him a debt of gratitude. Adam didn't say anything for a moment before turning to face his home island one last time.

"I'll be back later on in my journey, mother made an Eternal Pose for this island for whenever we travelled away from it so I'll use that eventually. But for now, you morons keep my home undestroyed. Got that?" He ordered the animals, they shockingly seemed to understand him and nodded.

"Good."

With that, the Lunarian's wings carried him into the skies as within 3 seconds he reached an altitude of 300 Metres above sea level. He reached into his satchel, retrieving a compass like object that looked almost like an hourglass with its middle replaced with a 360 degree compass.

It was an Eternal Pose, but to explain what an Eternal Pose is we must first answer what a Log Pose is.

A Log Pose is a specialised type of compass, a necessity for navigating the Grand Line where the unique minerals in every island produce atypical magnetic fields that render ordinary compasses useless. He and his mother had obtained one during one of their outings.

Unlike conventional compasses, the Log Pose does not affix to a single direction; instead, it 'Records' the magnetic field between a given island and the next-closest island, and points to the latter.

After reaching the next island and staying there for a given amount of time, the Log Pose will reset and lock on to the magnetism of the next island in the Grand Line. Nevertheless, Log Poses retain a few shortcomings. Their magnetic "routes" are strictly one-way, and cannot be used to return to prior islands.

It is important to note that a Log Pose held within one of the 4 Blues will always point towards an island in the Grandline, making normal Log Poses functionally worthless within the 4 Blues as a result of that.

However this is where their variants known as 'Eternal Poses' come into play as like a Log Pose, it records the special magnetic waves of a certain island, allowing the user to know which way to go to arrive at their destination.

And unlike a Log Pose, which resets its recordings on new islands, an Eternal Pose always points to the same island, no matter how long it stays elsewhere. This made them a very hot commodity for all due to the convenience of charting they provide as even the least experienced sailor can use them with ease.

Adam looked around himself for a moment to orient himself before looking down at his Eternal Pose, it pointed towards the right at an 114 degree angle. With a nod, he moved his wings to rotate himself around in the right direction and took off with immense speed.

An Hour Later.

Adam had cut through a majority of his journey by flying over vast stretches of ocean at near Mach 1 speeds through utilising his Speed Mode along with his built up momentum and relative lack of air resistance within the Calm Belt.

Eventually he felt air resistance begin pushing back on him, signalling that he had escaped the Calm belt and had entered the East Blue where the first island of his grand journey awaited.

As he slowed down, he spotted a curious sight in the distance; it was a ship. A pirate ship, if the Jolly Roger they flew was anything to go by, its skull-and-bones insignia flapping ominously in the wind. The Skull of their flag had a screwed on Metal Jaw, perhaps a reference to the captain of the ship.

"...Well, it should be interesting to see what these Mongrels are doing. It'll be some good entertainment if nothing else." Adam muttered under his breath, flapping his wings harder as he streaked across the sky and landed on Quarterdeck of the ship right behind the Captain.

"Before the boat had hit the water

The whale's tail came up and caught her

All hands to the side, harpooned and fought her

When she dived down low"

He watched on with some amusement as the pirate crew cheerfully sang a sea shanty to pass the time while operating and maintaining the ship, they seemed to be unaware of the Monster that had laid foot upon their home.

"Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go!"

Adam walked over to the side where he saw open barrels of food, he casually leaned against the side Bulwark of the ship and grabbed an Orange from a barrel. He peeled it quickly before eating a slice and grabbing a bottle of what looked to be Rum stored nearby, taking a drink while listening to their shanty.

"No line was cut, no whale was freed

The captain's mind was not of greed

And he belonged to the Whaleman's creed

She- Eh?"

Their joyful singing was cut off when one of the Deckhands stopped altering one of the ship's masts, spotting Adam sitting to the right as he finished eating the Orange. He sputtered out for a moment before shouting to the rest of his crewmates while pointing at Adam.

"MATIES, WE'VE GOT A BOARDER! THERE'S AN INTRUDER ON THE SHIP!"

The entire crew stopped and turned in the direction where he pointed with alarmed expressions, spotting Adam downing an entire bottle of Rum in one gulp. He then threw away the bottle into the sea and crossed his arms, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.

"Humph.. 6/10 on your singing performance, though I suppose I shouldn't be giving you credit here, since Monkeys do tend to be good at Mating Calls. But hey, at least you're hitting the right notes, even if it is on instinct." He mocked before shrugging, seeming to be without a care in the world even as they all sprinted towards him.

Within 10 seconds, Adam was surrounded by 8 different men with 7 others aiming at him from a distance. Smirking harder, he simply stood up straight from his place and walked over to the man he assumed to be the captain, towering over him from his sheer height.

"Don't move, you Freak!" One of the Pirates shouted, he assumed they were confident in their superiority because they outnumbered him 15 to 1 and aimed at him with 15 different guns.

Adam chuckled in amusement and mirth before speaking to dash that idea, "You're more Arrogant than I am to think that weapons made and wielded by a bunch of Monkeys could hope to injure me."

"Shut up! I'm 'Iron Jaw' Darius with a Bounty of 30 Million Berries and I won't take disrespect from a freak with wings!"

His blustering and bragging only fed Adam's smirk as it widened before his back and wings were burned alight with orange flames. Their sudden appearance caused the pirates to gasp and step back in horror at what they were seeing, it went against all logic and sense.

"H-HE- HE'S A D-DEMON!" "I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS SHIT!" "CAPTAIN, WHAT THE FUCK DO WE DO?!"

"C-Calm down men! No matter what kind of freak he is, no one can survive being shot by 15 men!" Darius shouted to his men, steeling his aim at Adam as they nodded to him and aimed as well.

Adam didn't care to move to avoid or stop them from shooting, standing still before them with arms crossed. He laughed mockingly as 15 different guns fired off multiple bullets at him, the metal flying into his body before crashing against his skin and being crushed into small round plates.

"Kuhahaha~!"

A few seconds later, the sounds of clicking echoed through the air as all the guns were emptied to Adam. The Lunarian simply chuckled sinisterly at their horrified expressions when they noticed their bullets had no effect as he brought up his hands, each of which burned alight with flames.

"You Mongrels call that firepower? This.. is Firepower!"

Multiple blasts of flames shot from his hands as the Pirate crew all jumped to their sides, trying to avoid certain Death. 6 of them weren't so lucky as they were caught mid air and incinerated, their agonising screams echoed through the air.

The ones that weren't caught by the flames desperately reloaded their weapons before shooting at him, trying to do anything to hurt him. Adam simply began walking slowly towards the pirates without a care in the world even as a bullet smashed into the side of his head, it was crushed against his skin and fell to the ground.

One of the men seemed to gather courage as he drew his cutlass and rushed at Adam, he shouted a warcry before swinging at their intruder. Adam simply raised a hand to the cutlass, grabbing with just two fingers and staring at the man with a deadpan glare.

A look of complete surprise and horror covered the pirate's face before a wet squelch came from his body, he and Adam stared at each other a moment. A disgusted grimace overcame Adam's face as a vile smell entered Adam's nose a moment later.

"How revolting, but it seems Monkeys will always be Monkeys. What? Are you going to dig into your pants and try to throw your Shit at me next?"

Without waiting for a response, Adam twisted his fingers to the side, snapping the cutlass in half in an instant. The pirate gasped in horror before Adam pointed his other hand towards his chest, flames beginning to form at his fingertips.

"Begone, Filth."

A burst of flames overtook the pirate's body in an instant, reducing him to a burned husk of a corpse before he could bluster out even a single syllable to beg for his life.

"K-KEITH! NOOO!" Darius screamed out in horror as he watched his First Mate be killed before his eyes, his legs began feeling like jello.

The Captain of the 'Iron Jaw' Pirates fell onto his ass before crawling backwards in fear, watching as his other crewmates looked at him then to the Monster before them.

"S-Sorry Captain, but I wanna live!" "D-Darius, please understand - I don't want to die!" "My Wife is still waiting for me back home, I can't die here!" "I Believed in your Dream Captain, but I'm not risking my life for this!"

"T-TRAITORS!" Darius shouted as he watched his crew abandon him by all jumping off the ship, choosing to take their chances with the sea than stay on the same ship as the Winged Demon before them.

Adam D. Valentine showed no reaction other than a cruel grin, walking closer and closer to his prey as an amused laugh escaped his throat.

"Now.. I believe you said you had a Bounty on your head, didn't you? 30 Million, was it?" Adam questioned with a sadistic smile, watching as the once proud Pirate Captain squirmed and stuttered to deny it with terror in his eyes.

"N-NO! I WAS BLUFFING, I SWEAR- Guh…" Darius' desperate squirming was cut off when a wave of Goldish pressure fell upon him, his eyes immediately rolled to the back of his head before he fell backwards from losing his consciousness.

Adam scoffed in disgust as he watched the Pirate's weak will instantly crumble under his Conqueror's Haki. Reaching down he grabbed Darius by the neck and pulled him upwards without a care given to how hard he held him.

He then took off into the sky, looking down at the ship beneath him with a considering look for a moment before a grin covered his face. He raised his other hand, pointing a slightly cupped palm at it before a fireball shot at the middle of the ship.

"Kuhahaha~! I hope you Mongrels enjoy my parting gift, try not to die and all that!" Adam laughed, watching as the main mast of the ship burned to crisp followed by the rest of the ship starting to burn as well.

The remaining pirates watched as the flames upon the Winged Demon's back went out, he turned away from them before flying away and leaving them to their Fate.

The Crew of 'Iron Jaw' Pirates were never seen again…

…

10 Minutes Later.

Adam sped across the sky, the wings at his back carrying him and his prey through hundreds of kilometres. Eventually he spotted an island at the end of the Horizon, with one last push he arrived at its coast within 76 Minutes of his departure from his home island.

He immediately spotted dozens of Humans walking around the shore, choosing to not deal with that he raised his elevation slightly and flew over them. Making his way through the city, he eventually reached what he assumed to be the town centre.

Flying to the top of the tallest building he could see, he landed near its edge before dropping Darius onto the ground beside him. He then raised the hand which held the pirate to the side before it was overcome by flames, a few seconds later the flames went out as he nodded in satisfaction that the Monkey filth was burned away.

Adam then crossed his arms while looking out onto the sprawling city of Loguetown, the town is famed as both the birthplace and the eventual execution site of former Pirate King Gol D. Roger, eventually giving it the epithet 'The Town of the Beginning and the End'.

His eyes scanned the crowd of Humans, they all ran around while chatting animatedly and congregating around food stalls and such. Eventually, a disgusted frown overtook Adam's face as a low growl escaped his throat.

"These detestable creatures have just been procreating left and right! It's a damn springtime for Monkeys!"

The Lunarian closed his eyes then took a deep breath in and out, "Calm yourself Adam, you can't act like some Mongrel that can't control his temper. These mindless sheep aren't the subject of all my Hatred in the first place, I doubt they could even kill a baby Sea King if it stood still for them."

Usually, he wouldn't be as vicious or hateful, but the Death of his Mother was still very recent on his mind and it left him in a rather foul mood to begin with.

"They aren't worth the effort it would take to slaughter them all anyways…" He muttered, looking around and scanning the town centre once again.

He took notice of what looked to be a tall executioner's platform, many people congregated around it with dozens of Marines guarding the area. It was then that he noticed the immense Marine presence on the island, they were scattered and patrolling practically everywhere he looked.

"Hm.. Interesting…" Adam turned from the crowd and looked down upon his captured victim, he pulled back a leg and kicked him in the gut without much force.

It seems like said force was still too much for him to handle as he was immediately woken up from being knocked out, coughing up bile from the impact. He sputtered for a moment before his eyes shot open, looking towards what woke him up.

"I-It's you?! O-Oh God-!" Darius instantly noticed Adam standing over him, however his panicked shouting was cut off when he saw the Lunarian point an open hand towards his face which was overtaken by flames.

"Utter one word out of turn and you'll immediately join the filthy Rats you call crewmates in hell. Go it, Mongrel?"

The Pirate captain nodded his head furiously in terror, prompting Adam to clench his flaming hand into a fist, dispelling the flames in the process. He then motioned for Darius to stand up before crossing his arms, the pirate rushed to his feet and stood beside him while waiting for his captor to speak.

"...Why are there so many Mongrels congrating around that executioner's platform, is the Marine presence on this island typical for the time?" Adam questioned, curious as to the peculiar situation he was watching.

"...I-Is this a trick q-question? Y-You really don't k-know?" Darius asked nervously, unsure if he was being messed with or not. His answer came in the form of a stare coming from the corner of his captor's eyes which made him flinch away in fear.

"The Pirate King, Gold Roger, was just executed on that platform not 3 days ago, my men and I were present for it ourselves. H-He inspired us to go out to the sea and find his treasure, 'The One Piece'!" The pirate spoke impassionedly despite his fear, showing how much Roger's speech affected him.

"Pfft.. KUHAHAHA!"

"H-Huh?"

Darius turned to face Adam, watching as the Winged man burst out into hysterical laughter in the middle of his heartfelt explanation.

"Why am I not surprised? Well I suppose it's not that hard to guess when considering your filthy race. You know, Monkey see - Monkey do! Kuhahahaha~!" Adam continued to laugh his heart out, finding immense amusement in the words of the pirate beside him.

Darius shrinked in place with fear and awkwardness, not being able to say anything as his Dream and Pride were trampled upon. Thus was the fate of the Weak, they were relegated to be Helpless in the face of True Strength.

"Hah~.. That was a Good one, continue." Adam ordered, moving a hand their crossed form to wave at him dismissively. Darius simply sighed in resignation before continuing to explain.

"I.. The Marines are here to suppress the outburst of Pirates that flooded the seas since Loguetown is at the end of the East Blue. They're keeping a Rear Admiral on the Marine Base of the island where there was supposed to be just a Captain in order to keep everyone in check."

"Ohoho~? Is that so?" Adam questioned with a demonic grin.

"Y-Yes? I saw him capture some other Pirate crew whose Captain had a Bounty of 120 Million Berries! His name is 'Iron Gale' Goro." Darius revealed nervously, the presence of this Rear Admiral had actually been what forced him and his crew to go to sea early to avoid capture.

"Hm? 'Iron Gale'? Didn't you say your title was 'Iron Jaw'? Did they get bored when thinking of titles to use or something? Eh, it doesn't matter. There's one last thing you will do for me and I might decide to spare your life, Mongrel." Adam ordered, seeming to be in a good mood which made Darius more happy than he'd admit.

"Uh.. What is it.. Sir..?" Darius asked meekly, realising that he never learned his name before.

"It is Adam. Adam D. Valentine. Don't you dare forget it."

"Y-Yes Sir Valentine! Um.. What did you need me to do?"

"Do you know any nearby Bars or Restaurants nearby? I could go for some food right now." Adam asked shamelessly, a grin strewn across his face. Darius nearly fell over on the spot from the break in tension and the cognitive dissonance between his last words and these ones.

"Y-Yes, I know a good place.. But last I was there it was filled with Pirates who were excited about Roger's Death and Treasure, they were also there to hide from the Marines infesting the island." He answered with nervousness clearly evident in his voice.

However this caused Adam to scowl slightly and say "Well, as long as the other Mongrels know their place it should all be fine. I could always burn one or two of them to make sure the others get the message."

'That's exactly what I was worried about…' Darius thought with a grimace, already feeling his heart begin aching at the inevitable upcoming confrontation.

5 Minutes Later.

The doors to a bar swung open loudly, drawing the attention of all the clients within. Adam walked into the bar, having to bend his head down slightly to fit under the door frame, he was followed closely by a timid Darius who desperately awaited his chance to run away with his life intact.

They all watched as he walked into the Bar, looking around and inspecting the place before nodding. It was then that they noticed the Dark feathered wings at his back along with Darius who stood submissively behind him.

"Isn't that Darius? Didn't he set off to sea with his crew the other day?" One of the Pirates questioned his other mates from a table, stopping from eating to ask said question.

"Yeah, it is. But who's that guy with him? Why does he got wings?" His friend answered, having his own questions.

"Maybe he has a Devil Fruit?" A third man offerted, seeming unsure of his own answer.

"There's no way, those are only Myths!" The first man denied, not believing his friend's assumption.

"Any other day and I would have been on your side but I can't really explain what I'm looking at otherwise, so it might actually be a Devil Fruit!" The second man said, now entirely invested in the strange new man they saw.

"Hrn.. This place will do, you may scram now Mongrel." Adam stated coldly while crossing his arms, tilting his head slightly as he spoke.

"YE-! I m-mean, thank you Sir Valentine! H-Have a good day!" Darius stuttered out, barely containing a shout before sprinting out of the Bar, clicking his heels together mid air in Joy as he did so.

It seems that 'Iron Jaw' Darius shall live to see another day.

Adam ignored the looks from everyone, choosing to simply get what he wanted and leave so as to not waste his time on Weaklings. He walked towards the bar and sat down at a stool in front of the Barkeep.

He was a tall, muscular man wearing a gold necklace and earrings, a purple hat, a white shirt, and small black glasses.

"Give me some food and a drink, Old Man." He ordered, the Barkeep looked him up and down for a moment before shrugging. He grabbed a large cup from the side and filled it to the brim with Ale before setting it in front of Adam and moving away to get him some food.

'Not bad for a Monkey's product…' Adam thought after he took a sip of the Ale, he enjoyed the taste without a care in the world as he knew he could handle as much alcohol as he wanted.

His body could process an immense amount of Toxins without issue and what it couldn't would be burned away with his internal flames. The boons of his Lunarian Biology seemed nearly endless as even his base Organs and eyesight were enhanced leagues and bounds beyond other Races.

A drunk man staggered over towards him, nearly falling over but catching himself on the bar table near Adam. He then reached forwards and slammed a hand in front of the Lunarian, beginning to sputter out drunken words.

"H-Hey, Winged dude! Hic.. I dunno w-where you came from- Hic.. But this is myy house got it?! Hic.. God my head hurts…"

Adam stared at the drunken man with a disgusted Death glare for a moment before a smile covered his face. He silently took a gulp of his Ale before turning to the Drunk man and spitting it all over him, drenching him from head to toe as he raised his right hand upwards slightly.

"W-What are you-?"

Snap!

With a snap of Adam's fingers, the drunken man was immediately set on fire. The flames greedily devoured the alcohol on the foolish man, burning him severely as he dropped to the ground and rolled desperately.

Adam smiled at the sight, satisfied with the results before noticing that all the men in the Bar rightfully panicked at seeing a man be inexplicably set on fire. Some pulled out guns and aimed it at Adam while others stood up to run away, to this he simply raised one finger to his lips.

"Shhhhhh…"

A wave of Goldish pressure flooded the Bar with Adam as the epicentre, within a second all the men inside were caught in its effects. Their eyes rolled to the back of their head while they foamed at the mouth pathetically before falling to the ground, unconscious.

"You Mongrels are interrupting my meal." Adam stated coldly, seeming almost bored with the whole process of needing to exert his Conqueror's Haki in the first place.

Haki is a mysterious power that allows individuals to harness their own spiritual energy for various superhuman feats. As this energy manifests from willpower, it is theoretically open to all of the world's living creatures; the vast majority, however, are either ignorant of how to unlock it or unable to achieve mastery.

There are Three known main types of Haki: Armament, Observation and Conqueror's Haki, which is also the rarest form of Haki. At its Base form, it allows one to assert one's will over others to dominate them, causing those of inferior spirit to be intimidated or even lose consciousness if the gap in Strength is big enough.

Unlike the Colors of Armament or Observation, which are available to anyone, Conqueror's Haki is impossible to awaken through training, and only one in a million people are born with the ability to use it.

It is said that those who unlock Conqueror's or Supreme King Haki have the qualities of kings and are candidates chosen by heaven itself. This made the fact that Adam was born with access to this mythical form of Haki an unheard of feat.

The only man who remained standing was the Barkeep himself, although he had sweat falling down his face like a waterfall. He specifically was left out of the wave of Conqueror's Haki as Adam had the ability to direct it as he wishes, something he gained after years of practice.

'The only man to have ever made me feel this way before was Roger! Who is this guy?' Raoul thought with a heavy racing heart, he had met Roger many years ago when The Pirate King had first set out to sea but even then he hadn't felt this much pressure.

He then turned his eyes to his Patrons, seeing that they were merely knocked out and still breathing. Even the drunk man that antagonised Adam was surprisingly still alive, though burned severely.

"I'm glad that you didn't kill that dumbass, he's always been a Drunken Fool but he wasn't a bad person." He said with a relieved sigh, going to the back of his bar for a moment before coming back with a bowl of Beef Stew.

"Forgive me, where are my manners? People around here call me Old Man Raoul but you can just call me Raoul. Could you please give me your name, young man?" Raoul stated as he placed the bowl in front of Adam and refilled his Ale, choosing to give the winged man the benefit of the doubt.

"Hrn.. My name's Adam D. Valentine, don't you forget it, Old Man. And the Mongrel should consider himself lucky that I didn't incinerate him on the spot, but I am in a good mood so I will allow him to keep his miserable life for now."

With that, Adam took a bite of the Beef Stew, his eyes widening slightly at the taste. Begrudgingly, he could admit that it was better than he had anticipated.

"Oh? What's the Special Occasion?" Raoul asked, now intrigued as to what could put a man like Adam in a good mood.

"After watching how the Mongrels of this World had been overtaken by The Monkey King's last words, I now know what to do in order to achieve my Dream." Adam stated, a grin tugged at the corner of his mouth in anticipation.

"Does that mean you'll be going after 'The One Piece'?" Raoul questioned, his lips twitching slightly as he actively chose to ignore how he referred to Roger as 'The Monkey King' and regular people as 'Mongrels'.

"Kuhaha! As if I'd go after something so vain and worthless as some treasure! I'm going to make sure the World never forgets my name by becoming An Immortal Legend!"

"That's a lofty goal and a half my friend! Maybe even harder than finding 'The One Piece', how do you plan to achieve it?"

A sinister grin covered Adam's face at that as he chuckled darky before saying, "Well~.. What better way to make sure no one forgets my name than to be the Man who Burned down The World Government and their Dogs, then pissed upon their Ashes!"

Author's Note:

Now we see how Adam plans to go about accomplishing his Wild Dream!

Although, to be clear, he has no current interest in Ruling the World. He just doesn't want the World Government to have it either cuz he hates their ass.
