One piece: Celestial dragon - Miracle of the Void Throne

Chapter 12: Chapter XII - Ambition

The ancient halls pulsed with quiet power. Molten gold veins beneath the marble floor lit the Grand Chamber with an unnatural glow. Above, frescoes of forgotten gods and forbidden sciences stretched across the dome.

Grandmaster stood unmoving at the head of the circular forum. Around him, the Seven Masters gathered: each representing a surviving family bound by ancient law and shared vengeance.

"The council recognises the Severity of the situation," Grandmaster's voice rolled through the chamber like distant thunder. "We must act swiftly."

Whispers rippled, then settled as Grandmaster continued, "Our spies confirm: the World Government's use of our National treasure in the Hachinosu event. Their methods are Brutal, as always. They enhanced our technology to a supercritical level. making them weapons of mass destruction."

One Master, gaunt and robed in black, spoke first, "And the Rocks Pirates? Hard to believe that Rocks went into the flower garden of Pangea castle and met that devil there. Yet the devil sent just one person to deal with them?"

Grandmaster's fingers tightened around his staff. "Don't underestimate that lunatic, Rocks might bring the vengeance for our sake without our reveal, which would be most preferable. He is a D. clan member for a reason. And I still want peace for our people."

A very young looking Master frowned. "Bah... Hard to believe that you, of all people, want to be discreet!? So what about that stupid issue of our shiny stones, what is your power saying to you, Mr. truth seeker?"

Grandmaster said sharply. "They must be brought back no matter what, the longer our National treasure stays with the world government, the more humiliating it is to us and our Saviour."

Ancient scrolls were unfurled, aligning with maritime battle maps. Plans within plans. Patience is woven into an iron strategy.

Grandmaster smiled thinly. "We will send in our newly created Cloudfish Carriers."

Everyone stood up. Before leaving, everyone muttered one last sentence: „Sic semper Tyrannis..."

many days later....

A Savage wind screamed across the New World skies. A group of Pirates were floating in an endless ocean.

Rocks D. Xebec soared through the clouds, standing tall aboard a floating mass of shattered ships and dirt, sails stitched together like patchwork wings. The battered remnants of his crew clung to the fragments—madmen, survivors, and monsters alike.

"Hold steady, you bastards!" Rocks roared, his voice echoing through the unnatural gale. "Damn, that woman! making my Rum and Gold collection into dust. Vohahahahaha, So Jean wasn't kidding with his boring stories about the immortal witch when we fought last time...Vohahaha.. hey John! Ya give me some spare rum, let's celebrate this!?"

But Captain John wasn't replying, just grinning while playing with his coins and drinking rum.

Big Mom was silently pumping life force into Kaido, who was severely injured. Whitebeard leaned silently on his bisento, his gaze fixed ahead. Shiki hovered alongside, manipulating their makeshift fortress through the sky with his Fuwa Fuwa no Mi. not really paying attention to his missing leg, as if he didn't even care. there was also Ochoku, who was strangely without many severe injuries.

Silver Axe, once proud, lay crumpled behind them, body broken beyond saving after an earlier ambush. Rocks barely glanced down. "Ya weakass... Thanks for that surprise ambush, pal. See ya...." he muttered.

"Let them throw shiny stones and devils at us," Rocks growled, fingers crackling with Haki, later unleashing his sword. "We don't fall here, you morons! This world… is still mine! Vohahahaha. I will be the King of the world.... !"

Yet as the wind shifted, a new shadow appeared on the horizon. Oro Jackson with a strange ship with a bat-like symbol.

"Incoming," Shiki snarled. "Roger's bastards… and Redfield too."

Rocks grinned savagely, teeth bared. "Nice timing..." he whispered.

"Divine departure!!!"

Back at the Rocks Pirate outpost, nestled in a hidden cove of jagged cliffs.

Gloriosa sipped bitter sake, arms crossed. "Do you think the idiot survives?"

Stussy adjusted her fur coat lazily. "Nope, but I hope Edward will be safe!"

Streusen carved a cake absentmindedly. "Linlin..."

Gill Bastar, war-scarred and drunk, barked a laugh. "If that Celestial dragon Bitch could massacre half of our crew on Hachinosu… what hope does Rocks have?"

Don Marlon leaned against the wall, one toothpick dangling from his lips. "Hope? He has none. He has been hopeless since he was born. Grahahaha!

Ganzui cracked his knuckles. "I wanted some of that sweet gold on Hachinosu, dammit!"

The snail buzzed with static, the last frame frozen on Zenka's rampage. Blood, fire, glory… and the stench of impending extinction.

Gloriosa slammed her cup down. staring at Stussy's worried face, "When will I finally find my destined love?"

Outside, the storm howled over the outpost, uncaring and endless.

Meanwhile, in the ship returning to Mary Geoise, CP0 agents sat in silence, faces pale even through their white masks.

"That was… unprecedented," one finally muttered.

"…not even the safety bubble helmets," another added. "She didn't use them. Not even the emergency model was activated. She drowned endlessly."

"Why?" a third asked on the other side of the den-den mushi quietly. "Why didn't she use the bubble tool? She had two. Those bubble-makers are always issued for Celestial Dragons."

"Both… were missing," whispered the agent, staring at the nearby stasis chamber. "Lost during the battle. Destroyed by accident… supposedly."

"Supposedly," scoffed another. "Unlucky timing… drowning…"

Silence fell.

"…Luck?" one whispered. "Wait… Captain John… his powers....…THAT LYING BASTARD!!!"

The air grew colder.

"So even a Celestial Dragon with her regeneration and power wasn't immune… that pirate's cursed luck manipulations…"

They fell quiet again, as if speaking it aloud would spread the curse.

Elsewhere, in the thick of the raging sky and sea battle, Captain John crouched behind a broken mast, rum bottle in hand, eyes half-lidded. He grinned to himself, watching Roger's divine Departure slash against Rock's overwhelming slash.

"Tch," he muttered, flipping a coin into the air. "Luck, eh…? Guess it's a bad week for dragons… and a worse week for sea kings."

His coin landed upright—perfectly balanced—before the wind knocked it over, tumbling into the storm below.

Captain John just kept drinking.

Another week later.....

The New World Marine base (Firs Island) buzzed with routine drills and the scent of salt and sweat.

The clang of swords echoed from the upper decks. Young cadets shouted in sync as they sparred, while higher-ranked officers barked orders and threats. Snippets of conversation drifted down the halls—

"Did you see that broadcast weeks ago?"

"Another one? What broadcast?"

„Huh?! About Rocks Crew's defeat, of course!"

Sakazuki glanced up, pausing his mop stroke. "Finally, some good news," he muttered. "Seems like not everyone in the Holy Land is an absolute coward and trash."

Jonathan snorted. "Careful. Someone might actually agree with you for once." Deep within its lower barracks, two young ensigns knelt on the floor, mops in hand, diligently scrubbing grime from worn tiles.

"You missed a spot," said Ensign Jonathan, pushing up his glasses and flashing a smug grin.

"Say that again and I'll mop the floor with you," muttered the other boy—Sakazuki. His expression was a storm cloud, his jaw clenched.

Both wore the crisp but sweat-stained uniforms of low-ranking marines. Though their insignia marked them as Ensigns, punishment detail had made them janitors for the day.

Jonathan hummed, unfazed. "I'll become an Admiral someday, you know. With a sharp mind and sharper strategy, I'll rewrite naval doctrine. Maybe they'll call me the Genius Architect Admiral. I'm already outlining ideas to restructure the New World patrol zones. Minimum casualties, maximum control."

He twirled the mop like a baton, grinning. "Brains win wars, Sakazuki. Didn't they teach you that?"

"Brains on the battlefield don't win," Sakazuki shot back. "Power does."

Then his eyes flicked toward the window where the open sea glared back.

"This base is a joke," he muttered. "I'm requesting a transfer to Marineford to be trained. This place softens men."

"Not all of us," Jonathan replied, smirking. "Some of us think before we break our training partners' ribs."

Sakazuki scowled.

Once they were finished, they leaned against the wall in silence, catching their breath. The mop water stank.

Jonathan broke it again: "So? What's your dream? What kind of admiral do you want to be?"

Sakazuki stared at the floor. His fingers flexed slowly, his eyes hard.

Jonathan leaned in. "C'mon. Ambition matters. Vision. Strategy."

Still no answer.

Then, slowly, Sakazuki said, "To end them. Pirates. All of them."

Jonathan blinked. "...That's it? No reform? No doctrine?"

"No mercy," Sakazuki replied flatly.

Before Jonathan could respond, he stumbled, nearly knocking over a tall figure in a black coat—one of the World Government agents stationed at the base.

The agent sneered. "Watch it, worm. Marines like you? Disposable. Try not to drown in your mop bucket."

He turned his gaze to Sakazuki. "And you… You're the one who put a Lieutenant in traction last week, aren't you? Hmph. Should've sent you straight to Impel Down with the rest of the freaks."

Sakazuki's jaw tightened. "Say that again."

The agent gave a mocking chuckle and walked away without answering.

Jonathan flushed red. Sakazuki took a step forward, fists clenched. The agent didn't even look back.

"Bastard," Sakazuki growled under his breath.

Just then, a blaring siren pierced the air. Red lights flooded the halls.

"ALERT! ALERT! UNKNOWN ENTITY APPROACHING THE PERIMETER!"

The base shook slightly, windows rattling.

Outside, rising from the horizon, came a giant.

Sanjuan Wolf.

His head loomed above the watchtowers, casting a shadow the size of a warship. His laughter echoed across the sea like thunder.

"He's… he's enormous...WHAT KIND OF GIANT IS THAT?!" shouted a marine from the tower.

Jonathan and Sakazuki stared, frozen.

A Warrant officer dropped to his knees, whispering prayers through bloodied teeth. Another marine threw his musket aside and jumped from the watchtower rather than face the behemoth. One even vomited in place, trembling uncontrollably.

"Form ranks, MARINES! Form RANKS! MUSKETS FORWARD! CANNONEERS BEHIND!" someone bellowed—Captain Moro, voice hoarse but commanding. His eyes were wild, spit flying from his mouth as he tried to rally scattered squads.

But his words were drowned in screams, and the booming laughter of Sanjuan Wolf.

All around them, chaos erupted.

No wonder no one was prepared to face this. Normal giant? can be handled. But this?... Not even in their dreams!

Marines began abandoning their posts in terror. Cannons were left unfired. Cries of panic echoed through the base.

"I didn't sign up for this!"

"This isn't worth the paycheck!"

"Mommy—!"

Some collapsed where they stood, trembling. One even fell backwards, having wet himself.

Sakazuki's fists trembled, but not from fear.

He surged forward, standing atop a crate and shouting with thunder in his lungs:

"MARINES! DON'T YOU HAVE FAMILIES TO PROTECT?! YOUR COMRADES?! YOUR JUSTICE?! FIGHT!!!"

He leapt down, ripping a sword from the hands of a fleeing marine and sprinting toward the open gates, straight at the behemoth.

Jonathan, eyes wide, scrambled into a deserted cannon station. His hands moved with practised calm, loading and firing the massive weapon. The blast rang across the bay, catching the attention of a few shaken soldiers.

"He's firing! That kid's firing!"

Some marines stopped fleeing. A handful turned back, shame flickering across their faces.

And then a booming voice called from behind them.

"ENSIGN! WELL SAID!"

A towering Vice Admiral emerged from the officer's tower, coat billowing, sabre drawn. He pointed at Sanjuan Wolf, who was nearing their base.

"WITH ME MARINES! WE STAND OUR GROUND!"

"FIRE!!!"

And with that, he charged.
