Chapter 19: Chapter 20: Shifting the Blame, The Nun’s Savings
"Go!" Pandora shouted, glaring at Linlin, then turned to Roy and yelled at him.
In this moment, Pandora suddenly felt that Roy, whom she usually found so annoying, was far more lovable than Linlin, this devil incarnate.
Pandora could sense Roy's fear—it was the same child the nun had once adored.
But when Pandora looked at Linlin, she could only feel innate evil.
Although Linlin didn't always do things intentionally, she couldn't control herself. She would always go on rampages, driven by her insatiable hunger, hurting everyone around her and causing endless suffering.
In her youth, Linlin's heart wasn't inherently bad, but due to her condition, she turned into something akin to a demon!
Did Linlin's parents want to abandon her?
No, they didn't want to abandon her! It was only because Linlin had experienced a hunger-induced outburst in her hometown, which forced her parents to give her up.
From the moment Linlin's hunger had first emerged, many things were already fated. She could never live a happy life with kind friends.
Roy held the fur tribe child in his arms and started running toward Linlin, throwing a punch at her.
"Bang!"
Linlin's head jerked to the side as she was about to grab a "big chunk of Samra" (the child), but this pesky person interrupted her.
She turned around, her eyes bloodshot, and her face contorted with fury as she returned the punch.
Roy instantly staggered backward, throwing the fur tribe child aside, and shouted at Linlin, "I have Samra! Lots of it!"
"Samra, give me Samra!!!" Linlin roared, stomping her feet and running toward Roy, leaving the table behind.
"Please, no!"
Behind a giant rock in the distance.
The hidden giant instantly panicked, nervously watching Roy, trying to stop him from playing with fire. But he was also scared of being killed by Linlin—what he had just witnessed had been terrifying.
He could only mutter those three words silently in his mind.
On the other side, behind another giant rock.
Bread, the fallen pirate chef who lived on the island, was hiding in the shadows, eating meat and watching in shock as he observed the scene.
"These two kids, I must have them!"
Bread's eyes lit up as he watched Roy and Linlin display their extraordinary power. He thought that if he could capture these two, he could build the most fearsome pirate crew in the world!
At the Lamb House.
Roy kept drawing Linlin's attention while running toward the house.
The Lamb House had ropes; he could tie the children up and carry them away.
There were also the nun's savings.
Linlin continued chasing Roy, and Roy ran into the house. She crashed through the door, splinters of wood flying everywhere.
"Samra~" Linlin growled coldly, walking through the house, eyes scanning everywhere for the missing Roy.
"Give me Samra!"
"Boom!"
Linlin's rage erupted as she slammed the large round table in the living room, toppling it. She used both her hands and feet to destroy everything in the room, breaking the furniture and sending wood flying everywhere.
Suddenly, Linlin smelled something delicious in the air and followed the scent toward one of the rooms.
Meanwhile, Roy peered out from another room, glancing at the distracted Linlin.
"Quick, quick, pack up, let's go, let's leave this terrible place!" Pandora shouted urgently at Roy.
"Mm-mm!" Roy quickly ran into the children's bedroom, grabbed his bag, and picked up his sword.
Turning, he rushed out of the bedroom and into the nun's single bedroom.
The sounds of Linlin's furious destruction echoed in the distance.
Roy's heart raced as he hurried through the nun's room, searching frantically.
"What are you looking for? Hurry up and leave!" Pandora shouted anxiously, peeking out at Linlin, who was drawing closer in the hallway.
The Samra had run out, and Roy had used the other sweets to distract Linlin.
But Linlin soon realized it wasn't Samra and began her rampage anew.
"I'm looking for a log pointer or a permanent pointer! Without these, we can't go anywhere on the sea!" Roy shouted, pulling out a large sum of money from a wooden chest under the bed, along with a New World log pointer and several permanent pointers.
"Why are you taking money? It's just a burden!" Pandora cried, seeing Linlin draw nearer.
"Without money, we can't do anything!" Roy replied helplessly, before grabbing the nun's bag from the chest and slinging it over his shoulder.
He grabbed Pandora and kicked the door of the nun's room open, dashing toward another room.
At that moment, Linlin slammed the door to the nun's room, her massive body crashing through, and reached out to grab Roy.
"Run!!!" Pandora screamed in terror.
At this point, even Pandora was afraid.
If Linlin caught them, she could tear them apart!
In that instant, the two were running through the large house like a terrifying game of hide-and-seek.
Whoever was caught would die, and it was a thrilling, deadly chase!
Roy ran quickly, escaping through another room and into the hallway, heading toward the exit.
Linlin roared again, crashing through the wooden wall, barreling after Roy.
Roy grabbed a rope hanging on the wall as he ran, pulling it with him as he sprinted out of the house and into the open.
Roy ran ahead, Linlin chased from behind, and Pandora continuously breathed fire at Linlin, trying to hold her back.
Roy quickly tied up the fur tribe child with the rope as he ran, while Pandora's flames couldn't even scratch Linlin's defenses.
Roy couldn't help but think of a nickname for Pandora—maybe "Lighter," since she was practically a walking flame?
"Damn it!" Roy thought, looking back at the approaching Linlin. He quickly threw the tied-up fur tribe child aside and, turning back to Linlin, threw a punch at her.
"Bang!"
The two clashed again, and Roy noticed a piece of Samra that had yet to be eaten in the hands of the fallen prince. His heart leaped in surprise.
As he was knocked backward by Linlin, he grabbed the Samra from the fallen prince's hand and, shouting to Linlin, threw it toward her.
"Samra!!!"
Linlin immediately chased after the Samra.
The moment Roy hit the ground, he tossed the Samra far off toward a giant rock and ignored Linlin's pursuit of the Samra. He continued running to tie up the children.
Linlin was in an unconscious state of frenzy, and Roy could only save as many children as he could.
"!!!"
Behind the giant rock, the fallen pirate chef, Bread, watched in shock as the delicious Samra rolled toward him.
Linlin, drooling, pursued it immediately.
"No, don't come!" Bread panicked and turned to run.
"Wait!" Bread paused, eyeing the Samra, and with a swipe of his sword, he slashed the ground.
He was a user of the Food-Food Fruit and could turn objects into food.
With one slash, a chiffon cake appeared on the ground.
"Damn it, this isn't it!" Bread grimaced.
His ability didn't produce food that tasted good, and it was hard for him to control it.
Otherwise, he wouldn't be a fallen pirate chef.
Linlin gobbled up the Samra in one bite and eyed the walking chunk of Samra. Saliva dripped from her mouth.
"Don't… don't come any closer!" Bread screamed, turning and running.
He regretted ever coming here to watch the spectacle!
Outside on the grass in front of the Lamb House.
Roy heard the man's scream, glanced in the distance, and quickly grabbed the ropes to bind the children together, preparing to take them away.
Thanks to the pirate chef's distraction, he had gained some precious time to save the children.
