One Piece: Don't Worry, I'm a Doctor

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Time to Show Real Medical Skills!

Vir sprang to his feet in an instant.

Without hesitation, he dashed toward the door.

"Come with me! The test subject has arrived! It's time for your master to showcase true medical prowess!"

"Watch closely! I'm only teaching this once!"

Vir pushed the door open and stepped out, leaving Chopper with only his back to see.

Chopper stared at Vir's departing figure, his eyes filled with admiration.

Boss is so cool!

"Ahh! I'm coming! Wait for me, Boss!"

Chopper jumped down from the window and scurried after him.

Meanwhile, Luffy was already on the verge of total exhaustion. His entire body trembled uncontrollably from sheer fatigue.

His hands and feet were covered in blood, the skin long since torn away.

His bones were faintly visible, making for a gruesome sight.

To be honest, this was the first time Vir had ever seen Luffy's bones.

He always thought they might not even be attached to Luffy's body.

Nami and Sanji lay sprawled nearby as well.

One was burning up with a high fever, the other completely unconscious.

Seeing this, Vir immediately crouched down to examine Nami.

With the medical knowledge in his mind, he could tell at a glance—this wasn't just an ordinary fever.

Lifting her eyelids, checking her pulse, and observing her complexion, Vir quickly determined the cause.

It was indeed a fever, but it was caused by a venomous insect bite—specifically, from a creature called the Fire Needle Bug.

If left untreated, her condition would only worsen.

The medical expertise he had acquired didn't cover this specific situation.

Without hesitation, he picked Nami up and carried her into the house.

At the same time, he swiftly flipped through the system's shop.

Chopper, who had just caught up, was left dumbfounded by what he saw.

"Hey! Boss, aren't you forgetting something? There are still people lying over there!"

Chopper's gaze flickered between Vir and the collapsed, unconscious Luffy, his face filled with uncertainty.

"Just drag them in too. Don't worry about them, they'll wake up soon enough."

Vir's casual response came from inside the house.

Huh? Just like that?

Chopper was a little stunned.

But he still obediently dragged Luffy and Sanji inside, albeit slowly.

By now, Vir had already placed Nami on the sofa and even covered her with his blanket.

Seeing Chopper come in, Vir spoke without even looking up. "Put those two by the fireplace. They'll wake up once they warm up."

Chopper, without question, did as he was told.

"Got it!"

Vir's eyes skimmed over the numerous treatment options available for this illness in the system's shop.

He started with the cheapest ones.

No point looking at the expensive ones—it was a waste of time.

Right now, he only had the 250 negative points Chopper had earned for him yesterday, which severely limited his purchasing power.

'Heat-Dispersing Pill'

Price: 20 points.

Pass.

There was no way Nami could take something like that in her current state.

He needed something that didn't require her cooperation…

Seconds ticked by, and soon, even the other two had woken up.

They groggily observed their surroundings, only to see Vir standing motionless and Nami lying on the sofa.

Despite their confusion, Luffy hadn't forgotten the reason he had fought so hard to make it here.

"Hey, um! That's my crewmate! She's in serious trouble! Do you have a doctor here? Can you please treat her?"

Luffy pleaded with sincere urgency, staring at Vir.

But Vir, completely focused on finding a solution, ignored him.

Seeing this, Sanji assumed that Luffy had forgotten to offer compensation, and that's why this person wasn't responding.

Hurriedly, he added, "Don't worry! As long as you save Nami-san, we'll pay for the treatment. Please, bring the doctor out quickly."

His expression was equally desperate. Nami's condition was their top priority.

They were even willing to humble themselves before a stranger.

Even after hearing this, Vir didn't budge an inch.

Just when they started suspecting he was deaf, Chopper couldn't stand it anymore.

"Shut up! My master is thinking about how to save her! He's not just a doctor here—he's the greatest doctor in the world!"

They hadn't seen Chopper yet, but hearing his voice made them glance at Vir with newfound intensity.

Could such a young man really be a medical expert?

Sanji found it hard to believe.

But Luffy didn't care about any of that!

"Really?! That's amazing! Thank you! Please, you have to save Nami! She's an important member of my crew!"

Chopper, now visibly annoyed, finally couldn't hold back anymore.

With a jump, he leapt from the recessed armrest of the sofa and landed in front of the two men.

"I said my master is thinking! Stop making noise, will you?!"

Chopper was usually shy, yet he had no problem snapping at two strangers right now.

All because Vir was here—his confidence soared.

"A reindeer? A talking reindeer?! Eh~~! A talking reindeer! What's going on here?!"

Lying weakly to the side, Luffy's eyes widened in shock as he stared at the speaking reindeer.

His mouth hung open in disbelief.

Starving as he was, he couldn't stop the tears from welling up in his eyes.

Meat… Reindeer meat…

Just as he was about to make a move, Vir finally acted!

Vir pulled out his medical kit from beside the sofa, opened the lid, and reached inside.

"Master has figured it out!"

Chopper shouted in delight.

"Oh~! Really?! That's great! Nami's going to be saved!"

Luffy and Sanji were overjoyed!

They all turned their excited gazes toward Vir, watching his every move intently.

Even Luffy momentarily abandoned his plan to take a bite out of Chopper.

Nami's condition was essentially a case of poisoning.

She had been bitten by a venomous bug, resulting in a severe fever.

Vir had just exchanged for something special in the system shop.

'Detoxification Pickaxe'

Price: 180 points.

Function: When used to strike the patient, it gradually dispels negative effects caused by poisoning.

(Image: A detailed depiction of the pickaxe.)

Dispelling poison-induced negative effects—wasn't that exactly what Nami needed?

And it wasn't even that expensive.

Usually, the more bizarre an item, the cheaper it was compared to the standard version.

"Detoxification Pickaxe has been delivered to the worn-out medical kit. Retrieve it to use."

Without hesitation, Vir reached into his medical kit and slowly pulled out what he saw as a sleek, shiny pickaxe.

However, to the other three, he had just pulled out a nightmarish weapon covered in dried blood.

The pickaxe was stained red, and Vir's hands were smeared with blood as well.

The tip of the pickaxe was adorned with bits of flesh and tangled strands of hair.

It looked as if it had just been used to smash someone's skull.

Blood dripped steadily from its edge.

[Detecting a surge of negative emotions.]

A system notification popped up.

Vir blinked in mild surprise and turned to the three staring at him in horror.

Again?

Why did taking things out of his medical kit always provoke this reaction?

Since they weren't his patients, he wasn't getting any negative points from them either.

Seriously, were these people afraid of a simple pickaxe?

Back in his childhood, he had used one to dig fields.

Were pirates really this pampered? Afraid of everything…
