One Piece: Ero Saiyan

Chapter 43: Gluttony -41

Even though he'd done that kind of thing before, he couldn't bring himself to say it in front of the ladies!

Zeff ignored Sanji's shouting and turned to face Peter.

As he looked at the young man standing at the center of it all, Zeff's expression gradually grew more serious and dignified.

He wasn't like the clueless fools on the ship who never paid attention to world affairs and always got into trouble.

Even though Zeff had retired long ago and become an ordinary chef, he still kept track of the major powers moving across the seas.

Of course, he recognized Peter — formerly one of the Shichibukai, and now one of the most famous pirates in the New World. (The World Government…)

Recalling the bounty on his head — which exceeded 200 million — a few drops of sweat slid down Zeff's brow.

Anyone who holds such tremendous power in this world must surely have an unpredictable temperament.

Zeff wasn't sure whether Peter would take offense and destroy the Baratie in retaliation for Sanji's outburst.

So the moment he recognized him, he immediately stepped in to stop Sanji — to keep the foolish boy from digging his own grave.

Ignoring Sanji's protests, Zeff bowed before Peter and apologized sincerely:

"I deeply apologize for one of our staff members causing you trouble.

As compensation, all your meals today will be on the house.

I'll personally discipline this boy — he'll get the punishment he deserves.

In short, as the chef and manager here, I'm truly sorry that you had to endure such an unpleasant experience."

"Wooooah—!"

The restaurant erupted into commotion, while Sanji stood frozen, staring at Zeff's bowed back in disbelief.

He couldn't understand what had gotten into the old man.

"Another man who knows when to back down.

You're all so polite, I almost feel guilty about the idea of killing any of you,"

Peter said with a sigh, half-jokingly — but his words alone made Zeff's heart pound violently, cold sweat trickling down his back.

Fortunately, Peter wasn't in the mood to quarrel with minor characters. With a lazy wave of his hand, he replied:

"Just go make me my food. I'm starving."

"Thank you very much,"

Zeff muttered with tension in his voice, then quickly stood up and headed for the upper floor.

"Hey, old man, you...!"

"Shut it. You're fired!"

Sanji tried to protest, but Zeff cut him off coldly — not even looking at him as he climbed the stairs with heavy steps.

"Old man…!"

Sanji's mouth hung open in shock. Even with his delayed reaction, he finally realized that the man who nearly provoked him moments ago wasn't just anyone…

but someone powerful enough to make Zeff — the proud old pirate — bow his head.

A boiling sense of regret surged in his chest. He looked at Peter and his companions with a complicated expression, then rushed after Zeff.

At the nearby table, Nami was watching everything with her glowing almond eyes.

So, this man really is important. No wonder Carina showed up again — she must have found someone powerful to support her.

A powerful man meant unimaginable wealth. And judging by Peter's obvious weakness for women...

Nami narrowed her eyes with a sly smile, already fantasizing about how she would trick him and steal treasures that could rival the wealth of nations.

Zoro, seated lazily with his hands behind his head, watched it all unfold in boredom.

Glancing at Nami, who had now sunk into a money-fueled daydream, her silly grin plastered across her face, he muttered a warning:

"Oi, that guy's not normal. I'm telling you — don't try to play him.

You'll lose big time."

"Nani~?"

Nami tilted her head toward him with a bright smile, her eyes sparkling with beli signs — making Zoro's face twitch in frustration.

"There's no saving this greedy, money-obsessed woman…"

Despite all that had happened, Peter and his companions' mood wasn't dampened in the slightest as they began their meal.

From the moment the first dish was served, Peter's eyes lit up, and he started devouring the food with unbelievable enthusiasm.

Baratie lived up to its reputation. Its ability to satisfy the appetite of a hungry Saiyan was no small feat. The kitchen kept serving dish after delicious dish without rest.

At first, the restaurant's other patrons ate as usual, chatting and bickering like any day.

But as Peter kept eating — and eating — people began to take notice.

Plates stacked up like a small mountain, and the guests' curiosity slowly turned into wide-eyed shock as they watched, unable to close their mouths.

In the end, everyone was cheering him on, turning it into a spectacle — wondering who would collapse first: Peter or the kitchen staff!

Eventually, Vivi and a few of the girls became too embarrassed to sit next to him.

They opened a separate table for themselves, leaving Peter to dine alone in peace.

As they quietly ate their meal, one of them whispered:

"Do you think he might go bankrupt just from eating like this?"

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Sanji and the remaining chefs — who had stayed despite Zeff's attempt to send them away — were caught in a mix of exhaustion and excitement.

They had never served a guest with such a monstrous appetite. It was a real professional challenge that reignited their culinary spirit.

Sanji twirled his ladle with flair, a grin on his face as he shouted energetically:

"You bastards! Give it everything you've got!

Don't let anyone look down on Baratie!"

"Ahh! My soul as a chef is burning!"

"Hurry up! We can't let him outpace Baratie's kitchen!

We're the best in the East Blue!"

At that moment, Zeff came down to the kitchen himself.

Hearing the uproar and seeing the fire in his staff's eyes, he smiled — forgetting, at least for a moment, the fear he had felt about Peter's identity.

All he wanted now... was to see who would win: him, or Peter!

Thus, the entire restaurant split into two camps:

One cooking with fiery passion, and one feasting like it was his last day alive.

As for the only one who truly suffered — it was the delivery boy, Straw Hat Luffy.

With Zeff's strict warning — "Every bite you steal will cost you an extra day of dishwashing!" — Luffy could do nothing but stare at the dishes with tearful hunger,

running back and forth between the kitchen and Peter's table, drooling all the way.

For the starving Luffy, this was torture worse than death.

He thought about stealing just one bite… several times.

But he barely managed to restrain himself — especially when he saw the rest of his crew still waiting patiently at the table.
