Chapter 478: Marine Grand Meeting (Part 2)

Just after finishing a tense call with the World Government, Commander-in-Chief Kong walked into the meeting room—only to find everyone inside laughing loudly.

A flame of rage immediately ignited in his heart.

"While I'm busy cleaning up the Navy's mess, you're all here planning a banquet?"

"Unforgivable."

"Commander!"

"Commander!"

Everyone's smiles instantly vanished.

Kong looked around with a forced smile, but his eyes were anything but amused.

"So? What exactly was so funny just now?"

He asked coldly, scanning the seated officers.

No one answered.

Even Garp, normally fearless, lowered his head like a student being scolded.

Only those at the front dared look up.

Vice Admiral Tsuru broke the tense silence.

"It's nothing, really. Garp just became a grandfather, so we were teasing him into treating us."

She offered a calm explanation.

"Garp's grandson, huh?"

Kong glanced at Garp, who was trying his best to look innocent.

He sighed inwardly.

"These things are fine to talk about after hours. But during work, I expect full focus. Understood?"

"Yes, sir!"

Everyone immediately stood up and answered in unison.

Satisfied, Kong waved a hand.

"Sit down. Let's begin the meeting."

Kong opened a folder.

"Aokiji, report on the Ohara mission."

The meeting officially began with a sharp request.

Aokiji stood, turned to face the others, and pulled out a report.

"The Ohara mission was successfully carried out by the Navy. Thanks to the World Government's agents embedded on the island, we quickly identified and eliminated all of Ohara's scholars. Virtually the entire island's population was wiped out at sea."

He paused for a moment and glanced at Akainu.

Akainu sat with arms crossed and eyes half-closed, silent and unreadable.

Kong nodded—but then narrowed his eyes at one particular word.

"Virtually? Are you saying there's a survivor?"

Though phrased as a question, Kong already suspected the answer.

Aokiji hesitated slightly, then pulled a photo from the folder and handed it to a guard, who projected it onto a screen.

The photo of a small girl appeared before everyone.

"Her name is Nico Robin, age eight. We discovered after a full scan of Ohara's population that she is unaccounted for. As far as we know, she is the last remaining survivor."

Aokiji's voice remained flat, though his heart was conflicted.

Several officers looked at the screen, their eyes filled with quiet sympathy.

They all knew what it meant when Aokiji presented a picture like this.

Kong stared at the girl in the image. Her face gave away nothing.

"The World Government ordered us to wipe out all of Ohara. She was one of them. Find her—and eliminate the final remnant."

His emotionless tone sent chills through the room.

Aokiji nodded, accepting responsibility.

"It will be like finding a needle in a haystack. I suggest we start with a bounty," Tsuru advised.

Kong nodded.

"Set it at 79 million Berries. That should be enough to attract the vultures of the sea."

With that, the girl's fate was sealed.

"Aokiji, anything else to add?"

Kong asked, seeing him frozen in place.

Aokiji shook his head and returned to his seat under Kong's gesture.

"The mission assigned by the World Government was completed satisfactorily. Both the Navy and the Government have taken note of your efforts. You've done well."

Kong offered a brief praise.

Many officers relaxed slightly, allowing faint smiles to return.

"But..."

That single word brought everyone back to high alert.

Kong signaled his adjutant.

A large screen was rolled in.

Three faces appeared:

Rockefeller Charlotte, Golden Lion Shiki, and Red Count Patrick Redfield.

Their new bounties flashed on the screen.

At the center:

Rockefeller Charlotte

Captain of the Rockefeller Pirates

World's Greatest Swordsman

Bounty: 4,444,444,444 Berries

Dead or Alive

The string of repeating 4s showed just how deep the World Government's hatred had become.

To the left: Golden Lion Shiki, with ship's rudder embedded in his head, twin swords drawn, and prisoner's clothes still on.

Captain of the Flying Pirates

Bounty: 4.06 billion Berries

Dead or Alive

This figure hadn't changed since the Battle of Edd War.

Even after escaping Impel Down, his bounty remained untouched.

To the right: Red Count Patrick Redfield, standing proud despite his prisoner's garb, leaning on a cane with disdain.

"The Red of Solitude," Red Count Patrick Redfield

Bounty: 3.8 billion Berries

Dead or Alive

His bounty had increased by 800 million, possibly reflecting Kong's personal fury.

"These three were the ones responsible for the destruction of Impel Down."

Kong's voice was heavy and cold.

Then the screen zoomed in on Charlotte alone.

Wearing a luxurious platinum-gold robe, Charlotte exuded nobility and dominance.

"Rockefeller Charlotte launched a surprise assault on Impel Down, disabling their communication systems and severing all contact with the outside. Taking advantage of the confusion, he infiltrated the prison and freed every prisoner—including Golden Lion and Red Count. As of now, we do not yet know his motive."

Kong stared solemnly at the assembled officers.
