One Piece: Holy Light Swordmaster

Chapter 135: Chapter 135: A Stomachache Is Nothing to Worry About

It wasn't practical to detain the Arlong Pirates aboard the warship for too long. Thus, three days later, Wright departed with Kuina aboard the Lightbringer, heading back to Marine Headquarters.

[TL/N: I will be using Lightbringer to call Wright's warship from now on as it is strange to simply call his ship Holy Light while his powers were Holy Light. That might confuse some people.]

To be precise, their first stop was the deep-sea prison—Impel Down.

Wright was no stranger to Impel Down. Only pirates of considerable notoriety were deemed worthy of imprisonment there.

A few days earlier, word had come from Garp that Captain Nezumi, who had been escorted by personnel from the 15th Branch, had already been taken into custody.

With Garp handling things, whoever backed Captain Nezumi—and allowed him to collude with pirates for years without repercussions—would no longer be a factor. Garp was never lenient when it came to Navy scum who disrupted the peace of the East Blue!

As Impel Down loomed ahead, Wright could already make out the figures of Deputy Warden Domino and Vice Warden Hannyabal waiting at the port to greet him.

"Yo, Domino! Hannyabal! Long time no see!"

As the Lightbringer docked, Wright disembarked and waved at the duo.

"Vice Admiral Wright! Sob sob sob—you've finally come back to Impel Down!" Domino rushed forward, grabbing both of Wright's hands and shaking them enthusiastically.

"Uh... Image! Maintain your image, Domino!" Hannyabal, wiping the sweat from his brow, groaned. "At this rate, my—my Impel Down's reputation will be ruined!"

"Ah! I just said 'my Impel Down'... I've revealed my ambition again!"

"..."

First-time visitors to Impel Down, Drake and Kuina, exchanged puzzled looks, utterly baffled by the Vice Warden's antics.

"Haha, Hannyabal, it's good to have aspirations. After all, a Marine without ambition to become an Admiral isn't a good Marine!" Wright laughed, gently extricating himself from the overzealous Domino—who, ever since witnessing his Holy Light Wings, had become his fervent admirer.

"Vice Admiral Wright, you jest!" Hannyabal hurriedly wiped more sweat from his face. He knew all too well that this Vice Admiral had a close relationship with Warden Magellan; a single complaint from Wright could spell disaster for him.

"By the way, is Warden Magellan still dealing with his stomach issues?"

Wright gestured for Drake to oversee the Marines as they worked with Impel Down's guards to transfer the Arlong Pirates into the prison. Meanwhile, he chatted idly with Hannyabal.

This guy might be a bit of a clown, but when it came to fulfilling his duties, Hannyabal was undeniably reliable.

"Yes, the Warden is... still in the restroom, so he couldn't come to greet you..." Hannyabal puffed out his chest, then glanced curiously at the subdued Arlong.

Arlong, who had once been so arrogant upon his release, even cursing Jinbe as a lapdog, now looked utterly defeated—almost as though he'd been broken entirely.

"Is Head Jailer Shiryu around?"

"The Head Jailer is inspecting the prisoners," Domino quickly replied.

"Inspecting? Hah..." Wright sneered. "Make sure he doesn't kill off the Devil Fruit users. You both understand one of the reasons we keep them alive here."

"Of course, Vice Admiral Wright," Hannyabal replied nervously. "We've reminded the Head Jailer about that..."

"And... I still want to be Warden so badly!" he muttered under his breath.

"Ah! I said it out loud again!"

"Hannyabal! Shut up!"

With the sound of heavy footsteps echoing through the port, Warden Magellan, the Venom-Venom Fruit user, made his appearance.

Both Magellan and Hannyabal shared a peculiar feature—black bat-like wings adorning their backs, though for Hannyabal, the effect came off more comical than menacing. Dressed in his dark uniform, Magellan exuded an air of authority that far surpassed his deputy's, and his power only solidified Impel Down's reputation as an impregnable fortress.

"Yo, Warden Magellan! Long time no see!" Wright greeted him cheerfully.

"Vice Admiral Wright, it's been quite a while... Did this small fry really require your personal escort?" Magellan spoke while clutching his stomach, still somewhat uneasy even after his latest bathroom visit.

The only reason he'd hurried out of the restroom was because he'd heard of Wright's arrival. Ever since Wright had mentioned that his Lightforged Crystals could neutralize Magellan's toxins, the Warden had viewed them as a treasure beyond compare.

These miraculous items could alleviate his chronic food poisoning-induced diarrhea!

For Magellan, nothing was more precious than the chance to work at his desk rather than from the restroom.

But alas, Lightforged Crystals were top-tier strategic resources, each worth a life. Even with his position, Magellan couldn't justify using one to treat something as trivial as food poisoning.

So whenever Wright visited Impel Down, he would bestow purification-enhanced Holy Light upon Magellan, relieving his symptoms for a week. Little wonder, then, that Magellan eagerly awaited Wright's arrival each time!

"Well, I was on my way back from a vacation in the East Blue," Wright explained nonchalantly. "Ran into some civilians being oppressed by this Arlong Pirate Crew, so I decided to clean up their den.

"I've got ties with Fish-Man Island, so I couldn't very well kill them all. I'll leave it to you, Warden Magellan... you understand, right?"

"Naturally," Magellan replied with a wry smile, glancing at the subdued Arlong. "Two years ago, when he was released, he was insufferably arrogant. And now, he looks like this?"

"Probably experienced something worse than death and had an epiphany," Wright shrugged.

Kuina and Drake, who knew full well what Wright had done to Arlong, exchanged bemused glances. Worse than death? You practically pulverized him into oblivion—several times over!

During the journey to Impel Down, Wright had been training Kuina and Drake in sparring matches. Kuina's swordsmanship was excellent but lacked real combat experience, while Drake's tough physique and proficiency in swordplay made him an ideal sparring partner. With Wright's Holy Light to heal their injuries, the training yielded excellent results.

But fighting Wright and being healed by his Holy Light were two entirely different experiences!

Once the Arlong Pirates were securely detained, Magellan couldn't hold back any longer.

"Vice Admiral Wright, about this poison of mine..."

"Got it, I understand."

Wright pulled out a golden crystal orb, roughly the size of a fist, and handed it to Magellan.

"Warden Magellan, this is something I've recently developed—Purification Crystal.

"It doesn't heal but emits a constant purification effect within a three-meter radius. This one should last two to three months.

"With it, you won't have to worry about food poisoning as long as you carry it with you. But don't expect it to work on your abilities—its purification limit isn't that high."

"Marvelous!" Magellan exclaimed, clutching the crystal like a lifeline. "Thank you so much, Vice Admiral Wright!"

"Haha, it's nothing. I'll make a few more later. When they run out, have the prison fleet bring them back to Headquarters for recharging during their rotation."

"Finally... finally, I can be free of this cursed diarrhea..." Magellan's eyes filled with tears. "I'll have all the restrooms on Level One demolished!"

"Uh, please don't!" Hannyabal interjected, horrified. "We still need them!"

"My Impel Down cannot function without restrooms!"

"...Hannyabal, shut up!"
