Chapter 137: Chapter 137: Big Oaf vs. Zephyr

"Mom! Mom! There's a ship approaching!"

The massive brute, having wiped out the pirate crew, turned toward the sea. His gaze fell upon a Navy warship with its seagull-emblazoned sails just docking at the shore.

"Huh? A warship? Looks like they're here to deal with these pirates!"

Miss Buckingham Stussy grew flustered. "My good boy, hurry and stash the treasure! Don't bother with the Marines!"

"Yes, Mom!"

On the warship, Zephyr stood tall, clad in his Justice cloak. His face darkened as he surveyed the decimated pirate crew—and the peculiar duo busily gathering treasure nearby.

"Teacher Zephyr…"

Ain approached him, scanning the scene below. "This… just the two of them took out an entire pirate crew with a bounty of 57 million berries?"

"For someone truly strong, this isn't surprising," Zephyr replied. "Back in the day, Wright undertook solo field training missions against targets with bounties as high as 75 million."

"Should we apprehend them?" Ain asked.

"Order the cadets to stay alert. Someone capable of single-handedly wiping out such a pirate crew could just as easily do the same to the trainees."

Zephyr furrowed his brows. "Besides… I think I've seen that man before."

The odd pairing of the hulking brute and the short, scruffy woman was unforgettable. After a moment of recollection, Zephyr's eyes sharpened. "Those two… they're pirates! And if memory serves…"

"Their appearances have changed a bit, but I'm sure of it. I caught them a few years ago during a training exercise!"

"What?"

Ain was shocked. "You mean… they escaped from you once before?"

"Exactly," Zephyr confirmed solemnly. "It was during one of my few direct interventions in a training mission—several classes after Wright's cohort."

"That giant man was exceedingly powerful. The woman was no real threat, but he followed her every command without question."

"I don't kill—not even pirates. That's how they managed to escape when the cadets let their guard down."

Down below, the brute and the scruffy woman finished stashing their treasure and hurried toward a small boat on the shore.

Zephyr's expression grew graver. "Over the years, his strength has likely increased. Engaging them now could put the trainees at risk!"

"Order: weigh anchor and leave the island immediately. Record this incident and report it to headquarters upon our return."

"Yes, Teacher Zephyr!"

"Mom! Mom! That ship looks familiar! Huh? They're leaving!"

By the small boat, the brute watched as the Navy ship raised its sails and prepared to depart. He called out urgently.

Miss Buckingham turned her head to study the warship carefully. "Huh? It does look familiar…"

Suddenly, her eyes lit up with realization. "I remember now! That's one of the Navy's elite training ships! Years ago, I had a run-in with them on this very ship!"

"Zephyr! It must be him! That bastard didn't recognize me back then…"

She hesitated, frustration etched on her face. "No wonder! Back then, I wasn't anyone noteworthy, and now… I look too different!"

"Still, Zephyr, you bastard! This time, I'll make sure you regret it!"

"You idiot son!" Miss Buckingham jumped up and smacked the brute's knee. "Why are you just standing there?!"

"Ouch, Mom! That hurts!"

"Get on the boat! Chase them down! Kill everyone on that ship! That old fart Zephyr's too decrepit to protect all those weakling cadets!"

"I'll have my revenge! Aaaaargh!"

"Yes, Mom! I'll kill everyone on that ship!"

Onboard the training warship.

"Teacher Zephyr! That small boat… it seems to be heading toward us," reported Binz, who had been assisting Ain with the incident report.

"Hmm?"

Zephyr turned and saw the hulking brute and the scruffy woman charging at the warship with a vengeance. His eyes narrowed. "The more I see that brute, the more familiar he looks…"

"Zephyr, you old bastard!"

Miss Buckingham's shrill yell echoed across the ship, causing Zephyr, Binz, and the cadets to stiffen. Murmurs rippled through the trainees.

"Is that crazy old woman out of her mind?"

"Does she really think that brute's strength is enough to ignore Teacher Zephyr?!"

"She's so arrogant! Teacher Zephyr was a former Admiral of the Headquarters!"

"Teacher Zephyr! Please teach that idiot a lesson!"

Miss Buckingham's tirade continued. "Hehehe! Last time you caught us, you left us under the watch of your pathetic cadets!"

"I've been a pirate for decades! I once sailed alongside him! And you had the audacity to disregard me!"

"Go, my boy! Kill them all!"

"Yes, Mom!"

Zephyr's gaze sharpened as the brute leaped onto the warship, wielding an enormous naginata.

"Fall back!"

Zephyr's commanding voice rang out as he coated his arms in Haki, raising a fist to meet the brute's descending blade.

Clang!

Boom!

The clash unleashed a violent shockwave, sending the weaker cadets sprawling across the deck.

"Teacher Zephyr!"

Hearing the commotion, Ain rushed out of the cabin to see Zephyr locked in combat with the brute. She quickly rallied Binz to organize the cadets into a defensive formation.

"I remember now… Your name is Weevil!"

Zephyr deflected the naginata with his fists, launching a series of Shigan (Finger Pistol) and Rankyaku (Tempests Kick) attacks.

"Oh! You're that Navy geezer who caught me and Mom a few years ago!"

Weevil's sluggish mind finally pieced it together after exchanging several blows with Zephyr.

"In just a few years, your combat strength has grown this much…"

Zephyr's concern deepened. Though age had diminished his stamina, his skills as a former Admiral remained razor-sharp. However, prolonged high-intensity battles were no longer feasible for him.

Zephyr struck Weevil's naginata aside with a heavy punch and declared, "If you want to kill everyone on this ship, you'll have to get through me first!"

"Mom said to kill them all, so I'll kill them all!"

Like a rabid dog, Weevil charged again, combining his monstrous strength with his massive weapon. His curved white mustache swayed as he attacked.

"Damn it! What's this guy's connection to Whitebeard?!"

Zephyr, known for his non-lethal approach, found himself increasingly frustrated. Capturing a foe alive was far harder than defeating them outright.

"This guy's regenerative ability is insane! It's almost like…"

Zephyr's fists were relentless, but his strikes seemed to have no effect on the brute.

"Almost like he's a Zoan-type Devil Fruit user… and a high-tier one at that!"

"But when I caught him years ago, he wasn't a Devil Fruit user. Did he eat one recently?!"
