One Piece: I Reincarnated as Ace with a system

"Hey Ace, did you get anything valuable today?" "I sure did look." A few months ago, after I got a better understanding of my system, I went and recruited Sabo, and now we're in the middle of building our pirate hideout.

This system is special, nothing to laugh at; it seems my theory was right on the money. I can copy an individual's talent by accomplishing a specific task through the system, and I can improve said ability with points I acquire by absorbing seawater.[Open]

I copied both Pirate Prodigy and Cat-like reflexes from Sabo, and I awakened sword tenacity on my own and improved all three using points. Man, I must say copying and acquiring talents is tough work.

There's no doubt this system is extremely powerful, but getting stronger is not as easy as it seems because the higher the grade of the talent, the harder it is to get it to the next grade level. For example, the skill sword tenacity I awakened was ranked F, the worst grade a skill could be. I needed two points to get it from F to E, and four points to get it from E to D. To improve it now from D to C, I need eight points.

In other words, to improve an ability to its current rank, you need twice the amount of points used to get it to the rank it was before. No matter what way you put it, improving my abilities and getting stronger is tough work. With all that being said, this is the best system I could have in the One Piece world.

If you were to tell me I could have any devil fruits in the world if you were to ask Blackbeard, you get the system or both of your devil fruits without the weakness of the sea, and I'm sure he would pick the system because if Blackbeard possess any talent I'm pretty sure his ability to wait would be up there and I think he would have a pain tolerance skill because even with the amplified pain when he got the Yami Yami no Mi(Dark-Dark Fruit) I have never seen him passed out from the pain or anything.

This system is already showing me how powerful it is, but my living here is the problem. What I'm trying to say is I need to set out to sea, that's when I'll be able to see the sea system's true potential because I know for a fact the more time I spend as a pirate, the stronger I'll be I won't be just powerful I'll have a wide range of skills I'll be extremely versatile a jack of all trades if you will.

So now that I have a system that relies on seawater to acquire and improve abilities, eating a devil fruit would be counterproductive. On the other hand, maybe because of the system, the weakness of the sea won't be a problem, and hey, I might be able to eat more than one devil fruit. Think about the possibilities here of being able to have more than one devil fruit. 

Unfortunately, we'll never know because I already have a system that helps me get stronger, just like Roger and Shanks, I don't need any devil fruits. I got it made with this system, and in the One Piece world where there is an abundance of seawater on a planet that might be as big as Jupiter, talk about the gift that keeps on giving, I won't push my luck I have high ambition and lofty aspirations I won't let my desire for power risk it. Besides starting with my favorite straw hat pirate Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Franky, and Jinbe, none of those guys have any devil fruits, and they learned how to survive in the Grand Line without them, so I think I'll be just fine without one.

Besides, even if I had a chance to eat any devil fruits, which one would I want to eat? The Mera Mera no Mi(Flame-Flame Fruit), which is the one that the original Ace ate, is a powerful Logia, but it's a massive step down from the Magu Magu no Mi(Mag-Mag Fruit), and that fruit, in all likelihood, is already in the hands of Sakazuki.

When it comes to the old man Whitebeard, his Devil Fruit, the Gura Gura no Mi(Tremor-Tremor Fruit) could be considered the most powerful paramecia and the old man was already powerful, and because of that Devil Fruit, even during Roger's time, he was considered the strongest man in the world. When it comes to offensive firepower, you don't get any better than that. There are only a few devil fruits that can rival it, like the Magu Magu no Mi(Mag-Mag Fruit).

Sakazuki's devil fruit, the Magu Magu no Mi(Mag-Mag Fruit), is powerful. When it comes to offensive firepower you don't get any better than that the man was able to fight for 10 days without break against Aokiji for the position of Fleet Admiral on the island of Punk Hazard and its defensive prowess is to be applauded even for a logia because he was able to take blows from whitebeard which for almost anyone else would have been life ending and after that got up and went back to chasing Luffy to kill him like nothing happened talk about impressive.

I say all that to say this: any devil fruit that would be tempting enough to risk losing the enormous edge the sea system looks to give me is already taken. Besides, eating any devil fruit was not part of my plan before I got the system, and it is certainly not part of my plan now.
