Immediately jumping to the side, Jack was shocked to see multiple massive nails appearing in the place where he was just a moment ago out of nowhere. He couldn't understand what just happened. So turning around, he saw Gibbs holding more smaller nails in his hand.

Jack versus Gibbs, the doughnut maker

"What the hell ! Why are you attacking me ? How are you attacking me ? I thought I am your captain now ?" Jack screamed as he dodged two other nails. And jumped to the other side of the wall by making a hole in it.

"You sure are naive for a pirate." Gibbs said mockingly. "But you are the first person to dodge my sneak attack like that. So let me tell you something before I beat you up for good. You were asking about devil fruits, right ?

I am Gibbs, Gibbs, the doughnut maker. I have eaten the Size Size devil fruit. You were calling yourself a pirate right ? Even if you don't have a bounty, you will still fetch me some good graces from that sexy Marine captain. If you would have just freed me like the others, I wouldn't have held it against you." Gibbs said to Jack as he threw more nails at Jack.

"Time's up ! Time's up !" Jack frantically yelled at Gibbs to stop for a second. Seeing the pitiful state of the so-called 'great pirate captain', Gibbs stopped attacking.

"Why fight when you can negotiate ? As you said before, I don't have any bounty. So how about you let me go ?" Jack told Gibbs. It was not that he couldn't fight back. Jack simply didn't want to fight. He wanted to recruit Gibbs into his crew, after that display of power. But Jack was not confident in fighting the man and did not end up killing him like the others. Currently he had no proper scale to measure his strength. So JAC just didn't want to take the risk.

Unfortunately for Gibbs, he mistook Jack's good will as a weakness. "Hmph ! Negotiations can happen between people with equal footing. Currently you are at a disadvantage, kid. Why do you think I would negotiate with you ?"

"*Sigh* Are you sure ?" Jack asked with a smirk.

"What do you mean ?" Gibbs asked, confused.

But in the very next moment his eyes widened in shock as Jack disappeared from his sight.

*Bam* *Boom*

Gibbs could only feel pain, unable to react, when Jack punched him in his face. Jack was also surprised that despite holding back significantly, the older man still flew to the wall and crashed through it.

Jack immediately went towards the cage to retrieve the special shackles that were binding the man earlier. Since Gibbs could easily make any object big, without even touching it, he was sure that he could have easily escaped from those chains. But because he couldn't, Jack figure out that those chains must have some kind of restrictive power over devil fruit users.

With that deduction, Jack went to check on the man cautiously. Fortunately or unfortunately, the man had passed out from that sucker punch, with blood coming out of his nose.

"*Sigh* Do I really have to pick up this dead weight ?"

Opening his eyes, Gibbs blinked a couple of times to adjust to the new light.

"Are you awake ?" A feminine voice asked Gibbs, when he sat up on the fairly soft bed. Looking around the room he found himself in a fairly luxurious room. The girl who asked him the question was sitting not far from him. Looking at the girl, Gibbs remembered that she was being held as a slave beside him.

"Where are we ?" Gibbs asked the girl.

"Inside the ship of Captain Jack D Sparrow. You were kidnapped by him. And I decided to strike a deal with him. In exchange for not letting you die, he would drop me off at Gekko Island." The girl spoke monotonously.

Hearing her answer, Gibbs remembered what happened to him. Feeling the pain in his broken nose he winced. He couldn't believe that he got over powered by that monster that easily.

Just when he was thinking about how to get out of that situation or what to even do, the door of the room opened and Jack came inside.

"Hello Gibbs, glad to see that you are in good health. Now how about we talk a little. I want you to answer me a few questions." Jack was drunk. After looting the slave traders he has found quite a collection of alcohol. None of it was not as strong as his personally made alcohol, but something was better than nothing. And in a drunken state, his mind worked better than ever before.

"What do you want to know ?" Gibbs asked. His tone was not arrogant as before.

"My first question, but is your thought about joining my crew. Becoming a pirate will offer you freedom and a lot of adventure. Of course if you are after treasure, then we will also go treasure hunting. So what do you think ?" Jack asked again.

"Alright. It is not like I have any other option…" Gibbs said defeatedly.

His life has not been fair with him. He had lost his father from a very young age. His mother was a marine. But for standing against corruption, she was labelled as a criminal and was executed before his eyes at a young age of 10. After his mother sacrificed her life for him, he decided to leave the grandline and go to one of the blues to settle in his life. But due to some stupid events, he ended up eating Size Size devil fruit. In the end he found himself in East blue where he took the job of a Bounty hunter to make his living.

In his 20 years of life, he has lost many things. He has no money, no family and no bitches to lose if he becomes a pirate. His late mother wouldn't approve of him. But it was still better than being forcefully recruited into the marines.
