The magic of alcohol

*Gulp* *Gulp* *Gulp* *Gulp*

"*Burp* Alright Jack boi…. Time to make a giant slingshot ! Why should I fight those creatures, when I can fly above them !" Jack shouted at the beach ! It was his secret power. The power of alcohol that makes him an absolute genius or an idiot. In the end it didn't matter since it always works out.

"Now which tree should I chop with my blade ? This one….. nah that's too thin. It will probably break before it could make me fly. How about that one…. Nah ! That's too thick. I might not even be able to bend it !" Jack continued his drunken monologue. In the end his drunken magic worked perfectly and at the end of the day he had found and created a perfect slingshot for himself and brought it to the beach where he would plant the thing. It was a tree in a unique shape with a thick main stem and two side branches with enough distance from each other to create the slingshot. After putting the tree near his house, Jack went back to collect his alcohol from the dates trees in the forest. The next day Jack had to take a detour to hunt down some overground chicken and pigs for food since he was running out of food items. It was not easy to hunt these two animals because of their size and aggressive nature. But among all the other animals present in the island their numbers were great, they were easy to find, hunting one of them could provide him with food for an entire day and their meat was very tasty. These were the main reasons why Jack continued to hunt those creatures despite the efforts and the risk. Slaying them was easy. But it was like fighting a shark in the ocean with a simple pistol. It was not impossible but risky and needed a lot of hard work. But with a bottle of heavenly juice straight from the dates trees, Jack could conquer the entire world without lifting a finger. At least that's what he felt like once he got drunk.

Finally after hunting a couple of oversized chickens and three big boars, Jack dragged their corpses with a makeshift cart back to his house.

It took Jack another day to create the slingshot with the tree and many flexible vines collected from the forest.

"Good morning Jack ! It is time to find out the truth !" Jack woke up with a lot of enthusiasm.

*Sniff* *sniff*

"Bleeegh ! Shit ! Is this smell coming out of me ? How many days have passed since I last took a bath ?" immediately his mood turned sour and he realised that he was smelling really bad.

Bathing in the seawater was not something Jack liked that much. But because the smell was really unbearable, he had no other choice.

After finishing his morning work and eating his breakfast, Jack geared up for the adventure. Since he didn't have an extra pair of clothes he had to make some clothes using vines and extra large leaves which were surprisingly more durable than his cotton clothes. After securing the sword in its hilt, compass to his waist and gun in his belt, he finally wore the captain cap which was a little bigger for his head. "Green is not my favourite colour…. Whatever…. I still haven't grown my beard yet…. But I look handsome." Jack commented as he looked at himself in the mirror. Of course he had collected the mirror along with the other objects when he first found them. And currently it was one of the luxury items of his house.

"Alright ! Where did I leave my bag ?" Jack searched around for his bag in which he had packed a lot of containers of alcohol, and a single container, containing some salted meat and a packet of dried fruits. Even though the hill looked small from a distance, Jack didn't know what awaited him there. That's why he has taken precautions for his travel.

After finding his backpack created from tree barks and vines, he picked it up and went towards the slingshot set up. The giant slingshot was the result of his hard work and an object of his Pride. It was thanks to his new found strength that he has managed to create such a magnificent thing all by himself. After reaching the slingshot he put aside his bag and started to climb it to take down its band. Stretching it downward he stretched it back with all his strength. Finally Jack double checked his compass while holding the string of the slingshot in one hand. He didn't want to miss the direction in which the slingshot had to fire. It was not easy but he somehow managed to do it. After accurately adjusting the direction he quickly put away his compass and bound the string of the slingshot with a rope, connecting to a giant Rock behind it.

After the setup was ready, Jack didn't waste any time and picked up his backpack and got ready to send himself flying. He had worked very hard to find the answers of his question. After checking his compass for one last time he used a sarp rock to snap the fragile rope holding the flexible vines, attached to the shlingshot.

*Snap*

"Yahooooooooooooooooo !"

As soon as the fragile rope snapped, Jack was sent flying with his backpack. At first he enjoyed it very much but then his enjoyment turned into horror when he reached above the island. The small hill from the distant beach might not look that harmful but its surface was full of spikes which were pointing diagonally above, making it impossible to notice from any angle apart from above. But that's not all because the small hill was actually….

"A freaking active volcanooooooooooo !"
