"Qualified to sail the Grand Line, yet you're stuck wasting away in the West Blue, this pathetic excuse for an ocean. And you have the nerve to call yourself a Great pirate?" Arthur scoffed, his eyes filled with contempt.

"You little punk! How dare you look at me like that… You're dead!"

He coiled his fist, veins bulging on his hand, and threw a punch—a blow perhaps even stronger than the one used by Gotti a few days earlier.

"You don't even possess a shred of Armament Haki, and you think you can hurt me?" Arthur didn't even bother to dodge, allowing the fist to connect squarely with his body.

"Zzzzzzt!"

The sound of crackling electricity sizzled around Arthur. Disco's full-force punch passed straight through him, emerging from his back.

Slowly, Arthur turned his head, a grin spreading across his face. His body, though pierced, was completely unharmed. Disco, on the other hand, trembled, his entire arm reeking of burnt flesh.

"Thunder Fruit user? Seabury D. Arthur?!" Disco stammered, his eyes wide with terror as recognition struck him.

"Zzzzt..."

Arthur raised his right hand and flicked a finger. A thin bolt of lightning shot out, striking Disco squarely in the chest. The electric current's penetrating force instantly stained his shirt crimson.

"AAAAAGH!" A bloodcurdling scream ripped from Disco's throat as searing pain engulfed him.

"Captain!!!!!"

Disco's crew yelled, scrambling for their weapons and rushing to his aid. Arthur, anticipating their every move, willed bolts of lightning into existence, unleashing a furious barrage on all around him.

"Zzzzzzt!"

The relentless crackling of electricity filled the air as the charging pirates collapsed one after another like dominoes.

Disco's eyes bulged. No pirate captain, unless utterly heartless, could bear to watch his crew slaughtered before him.

"RAAGH!"

He roared in fury, drawing his cutlass and bringing it down with all his might on Arthur's neck. Arthur's head flew off like a kite with a severed string.

Then, a horrifying scene unfolded. The severed head slowly rose from the ground, a mocking smile on its face, and floated back to Arthur's neck. A flash of blue light at the reconnection point, and not a single trace of injury remained.

"Hahaha! Didn't you know that Logia users are immune to all physical attacks except those imbued with Haki or Seastone, you idiot?" Arthur taunted, twisting his neck.

Despite having the highest current bounty in the West Blue, Disco Barum had never left its waters. Just knowing about Devil Fruits was a feat for someone of his limited experience. How could he possibly understand the intricacies of Logia's intangibility?

"Monster… Monster!" Disco stammered, the terrifying ability beyond his comprehension.

"So little experience—so little guts. No wonder you've never dared set foot in the Grand Line." Disgust tinged Arthur's voice as he saw the fear in Disco's eyes.

'Aren't pirates supposed to be wild, ambitious, lawless, and free? If you're afraid, why bother being a pirate at all?'

The Iron Sand Sword sliced off Disco Barum's head. Blood sprayed everywhere.

After killing every last pirate on the ship, Arthur tossed their bodies into the sea, keeping only Disco's head as a trophy to exchange for some belly.

For a pirate, the sea is the perfect grave.

"I'm glad I was born in this tumultuous, perfect age of piracy. New World, just you wait!" Arthur murmured, looking up at the clear blue sky.

He walked to the helm, consulted the navigator's chart, compared it to the islands behind him, and set a course for the Grand Line, adjusting the rudder accordingly.

After destroying the Mafia headquarters, he discovered that, having flown around aimlessly, he had deviated from his original course. To reach the Grand Line, according to the map, he still had to pass dozens of islands, taking more than a month.

Of course, Arthur could fly directly to the Grand Line, but that would take away the joy of sailing on the ocean. Unless absolutely necessary, he preferred to travel by ship.

....

Three days later, after Arthur had broken the rudder of the ship, he finally entered the waters within an island's territory. Comparing it to the map, he found that this island had one of the few Marine Branches in the West Blue. He hadn't gone the wrong way.

As the stolen pirate ship neared the shore, the islanders spotted the unremoved Disco Barum Jolly Roger on the sail.

"Quick, inform the Marines, a pirate ship is coming!"

On the sea, only the Marines could suppress pirates. Decades of World Government propaganda had successfully painted all pirates as villains of the worst kind.

The villagers quickly grabbed their Den Den Mushis and contacted the local Marine base.

"Moshi Moshi! Is this the Marines? A pirate ship has been spotted offshore! The entire village is requesting immediate assistance! They're almost here! Please hurry!" The villager's voice was a frantic squeal, as if the sky itself was about to fall.

"Please describe the situation accurately and provide the pirate ship's markings," the Marine on the other end responded.

The implied message was clear: If it was a powerful pirate crew, the Marines would need to consider whether to engage.

The villager hurriedly described the Jolly Roger and then hung up.

....

Marine Base.

The call was received in a conference room.

A dozen or so officers sat in order at the conference table.

At the head of the table was a Captain named Mozambia, wearing a gray uniform and a white Justice coat. He would become a Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral in the future.

"Gentlemen, I've called you here not to discuss how to deal with the Disco Barum pirates, but rather, Marine Headquarters Admiral Zephyr and Vice Admiral Borsalino are about to arrive. We must handle this pirate incident beautifully," Mozambia said gravely.

Hearing the Captain's words, the officers present were all shaken, their lazy demeanor instantly vanishing.

An Admiral from Headquarters was coming! Perhaps if they were appreciated, they wouldn't have to spend the rest of their lives in this backwater.

Thinking of this, they all perked up, ready to face the Disco Barum pirates.
