Chapter 236: Chapter 236
Now free of her restraints, Yamato excitedly threw her arms around Luffy, hugging him tightly. At the same time, she looked up with a radiant smile, handing him an imaginary "good guy card" as if rewarding his kindness.
Being hugged by Yamato—who stood at a towering 2.63 meters—was no small ordeal. Luffy struggled to breathe, her strength almost squeezing the air out of his lungs.
"Alright, alright!" Luffy gasped, patting her back lightly. "You can let go now."
Yamato, sensing his discomfort, quickly released him. She stepped back, her eyes brimming with anticipation, clearly waiting for permission to run off and explore.
Rubbing his nose discreetly, Luffy's gaze shifted to the traditional kimono she was wearing. Tilting his head, he asked, "Are you planning to play while wearing that?"
"Oh! I almost forgot!" Yamato exclaimed, looking down at her outfit. Without a moment's hesitation, she began to untie her thick obi belt.
Luffy and Hancock froze in unison as Yamato, oblivious to their shock, efficiently stripped off her kimono. In mere seconds, she was entirely undressed, standing confidently before them as though it were the most natural thing in the world.
The ease with which she removed her clothing made it evident how practical traditional Wano attire could be. Yamato's joy was palpable as she stretched and jumped around, completely unaware of the stunned expressions on Luffy and Hancock's faces.
"Is this okay now?" she asked eagerly, bouncing on the balls of her feet. "Can I go play?"
"Yeah, yeah, go ahead," Luffy replied hurriedly, waving her off and averting his eyes. "But don't stay out too long. Come to the room over there in about an hour—I need to ask you some questions."
Whether Yamato heard him or not was unclear. She dashed off with boundless enthusiasm, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Luffy sighed, his attention shifting to Hancock, who was still frozen in place, her expression one of utter disbelief.
"Hey," Luffy said, waving a hand in front of her face. "Snap out of it. What are you daydreaming about?"
Hancock blinked rapidly, her cheeks flushed a deep red. "That… that woman is shameless!" she sputtered, glaring at the discarded kimono left on the ground.
"Come on," Luffy said with a laugh, patting her shoulder. "You can't really expect her to understand these things. She can't even decide if she's a man or a woman."
Hancock's indignation softened as she thought of Yamato's naive declarations about being Kaido's son. With a sigh, she nodded. "I suppose you're right. It's pitiful, really. How could Kaido have raised someone like this?"
Luffy seized the opportunity to charm her, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close. "My Hancock is the kindest," he murmured, brushing a kiss against her lips. "Why don't I leave Yamato to you? Help her get rid of her bad habits. If you succeed, your husband will reward you."
Blushing deeply, Hancock nodded with determination. "I'll handle it!" she declared. "Even if I have to involve all the sisters, we'll make sure she turns out right."
Before Luffy could say another word, Hancock had already marched off, her resolve steeling with each step.
As she headed toward the water park, Hancock pulled out her Den Den Mushi and began calling reinforcements. "Hey, Ain, are you free? There's someone here who needs counseling."
Next, she called another subordinate. "Olivia, could you bring some extra-large swimsuits to the water park? Thanks."
The calls kept coming. "Kujaku, grab your whip—this one might need some discipline!"
And another. "Nami, wake up! You're on lifeguard duty!"
"Hina, report to the water park immediately," Hancock finished, her commanding tone leaving no room for argument.
Luffy, watching her leave, couldn't help but laugh. "Well, there goes all my company. What am I supposed to do now?"
After a moment's thought, he used his Observation Haki to locate Koala and Kalifa, who had yet to receive Hancock's summons. Finding them together in the library, he set off immediately.
In the library, Koala and Kalifa were engrossed in a storybook, leaning comfortably against each other. The quiet atmosphere was interrupted by the ringing of Koala's Den Den Mushi. She reached for it absentmindedly, but before she could answer, a flash of lightning signaled Luffy's sudden arrival.
"Wait!" Luffy snatched the Den Den Mushi, cutting off the call before Koala could respond.
"Hancock, you've got this covered, right? I'm counting on you!" Luffy said into the receiver before hanging up abruptly.
He handed the Den Den Mushi back to Koala and plopped himself down between the two women, throwing an arm around each of them.
"What's going on?" Kalifa asked, her brow arching in confusion.
Luffy grinned. "Don't worry about it. I just thought we could spend some time together."
When he explained the situation with Yamato and Hancock's efforts to organize a counseling session, both Koala and Kalifa exchanged skeptical glances.
