One Piece: Marine Luffy, Garp regrets it

Chapter 238: Chapter 238

Luffy's words revealed the harsh truths of the world, casting a shadow over the room. Both Koala and Kalifa looked visibly upset, their distaste for the World Government growing more evident. The two girls trembled slightly with anger, their bodies tense against Luffy's sides.

Sensing their frustration, Luffy gently stroked their backs, his voice soft as he reassured them. "It's okay. They'll pay for their actions sooner or later. Besides, it's not like we came out of this empty-handed. At least we secured Wano Country."

His tone shifted slightly, hinting at something bigger. "Not only that, but Fleet Admiral Sengoku plans to establish a new Marine base in Wano, and he's appointed me as its commander."

"WHAT?!" The two women exclaimed in unison, their voices echoing through the room.

The gravity of the news left them stunned for a moment. Though Wano was shrouded in mystery due to its isolationist policies, both Koala and Kalifa knew enough to recognize its importance. It was renowned for its rich deposits of seastone, a resource coveted across the seas.

"Wait," Koala said, her large eyes sparkling with excitement as she clutched Luffy's arm. "Does that mean… if you become the commander of a New World base, you'll be promoted to vice admiral?"

Luffy blinked, caught off guard by the realization. He had been so focused on the assignment that he hadn't considered its implications. His mind raced as he recalled the structure of the Marines:

All Marine bases in the Grand Line, both in Paradise and the New World, were directly overseen by Marine Headquarters and bore the designation "G." The commanders of these bases were always powerful vice admirals.

It hit him like a ton of bricks.

"I'm going to be promoted again?!" Luffy shouted, his excitement breaking through as a wide grin spread across his face. His second promotion in one year—it was an achievement that left him beaming with pride.

From colonel to vice admiral in just a year. Though his meteoric rise wasn't quite as absurd as the infamous "Deserter King" who had climbed 13 ranks in two years, it was still remarkable.

Koala and Kalifa, understanding the significance of his promotion, were quick to celebrate.

"That's amazing!" Kalifa said, her smile radiant. "You're one step closer to becoming a fleet admiral, dear!"

Koala, not wanting to be outdone, threw her arms around Luffy in a warm hug. "Congratulations, Vice Admiral! Here's a reward!"

Luffy grinned mischievously, holding them both tightly. "Just a hug? That's not enough. How about a kiss, too?"

"No way!" Koala huffed, blushing furiously.

"Hooligan," Kalifa muttered, though her smirk betrayed her amusement.

While Luffy was enjoying the affectionate teasing with Koala and Kalifa, elsewhere, Hancock was already moving forward with her plan to help Yamato.

Her first helper to arrive at the water park was Olivia, who came rushing over with swimsuits in hand. However, before Olivia could approach, she heard loud cheering.

Turning toward the source of the commotion, she spotted Yamato sliding down one of the massive water slides. What made the sight even more shocking was Yamato's complete lack of clothing. She dove headfirst into the pool, creating a splash that sent water everywhere.

Staring at the scene before her, Olivia froze. A wave of heat rose to her face, her nose tingling as a trickle of blood threatened to escape. Who is this bold, gorgeous woman? Olivia thought, her mind racing. And why haven't I seen her before?

Yamato emerged from the water moments later, floating lazily on her back. With her arms spread wide, she closed her eyes, basking in the warmth of the sunlight streaming down.

Watching Yamato's carefree movements, Olivia felt her nosebleed become impossible to control. A thin stream of blood trickled down her lips as her face turned redder by the second. This is too much… Who is she? I need to get to know her!

"Olivia, what are you doing over there?"

Hancock's voice snapped Olivia out of her daze. Turning toward her, Olivia saw the Pirate Empress striding gracefully toward her. Hancock's purple bikini and bare feet highlighted her commanding presence as she approached, her expression sharp.

"What are you standing there for? Did you bring the stuff?" Hancock asked, her tone clipped.

Olivia panicked, fumbling with the bag of swimsuits she had brought. "Yes, yes, I have them!" she stammered, trying to regain her composure.

Meanwhile, Yamato, who had been enjoying her sunbath, looked toward the source of the voices. Her gaze met Olivia's, and Olivia froze again, feeling as though her embarrassment had been laid bare.

Oh no. She saw me staring. What if she thinks I'm a pervert? How am I supposed to seduce her now? Olivia thought, panicking internally.

Desperate to salvage her dignity, Olivia quickly bent down and fumbled for tissues to wipe the blood from her nose.

Hancock sighed as she approached, noting Olivia's flustered state. "Get a hold of yourself," she said sternly. "We have work to do."

Yamato, still lying in the pool, tilted her head curiously. "Who's that?" she asked, pointing at Olivia.

Hancock glanced between the two of them, her brow furrowing. "This is Olivia. She's here to help with your… education," Hancock said, her words deliberate.

Yamato grinned, waving enthusiastically. "Hi, Olivia! I'm Yamato!"

Olivia swallowed hard, her face still flushed. "H-hi," she stammered, trying not to faint from the overwhelming situation.
