One Piece: New Luffy

Chapter 101: CHAPTER 99: Promise

"Huh?"

Robin was immediately taken aback.

After a brief silence, she frowned and whispered, "Even though it seems unlikely… Luffy, can you really understand it?"

"I just do, that's all. You're worried I might awaken the Ancient Weapon and bring disaster to the world, right?"

Luffy chuckled and shook his head. "Do you really think this world is fine as it is?"

Without waiting for Robin's response, he walked to the right side of the Poneglyph and pointed at another piece of text engraved in a golden frame in the corner.

Robin followed his gaze and immediately showed a look of surprise.

"I came here and brought this message to its final destination—The Pirate King, Gol D. Roger!"

A message from the Pirate King?

Why would that be here?

Robin had countless questions.

"Luffy, around 800 years ago, during the Void Century… you must know something, don't you? Could you tell me?"

"Do you like secondhand information?"

"In a hurry?"

Robin stared at him, unblinking.

Luffy smiled. "I know a little, not much. But why rush, Robin? On my ship, you're safe. No one can threaten your life. Come with me and see the truth of history with your own eyes. Isn't that your dream?"

With that, he turned and walked away.

"Why are you still standing there? Come on, or do you want to climb down by yourself?"

"Yes, Luffy!"

Robin gave a small smile and ran after him.

Such a reliable captain~

The next day.

Gan Fall came to report that he had found Enel's shipbuilding base.

At the same time, he had also found the former subordinates.

These people had been captured by Enel and forced to work over the past six years to construct his ship.

Luffy and his crew followed Gan Fall to a cave.

The cave entrance was large, with a white cloth hanging in front bearing the word "God."

They entered and walked a little further until they reached an open area.

A massive, uniquely shaped ship stood silently before them.

"Maxim!"

Gan Fall explained, "According to the shipwrights, Enel named this ship Maxim."

"What a huge ship…" Nami gasped, her eyes sparkling. "So much gold!"

The ship's hull was made of wood but embedded with a great deal of gold, used as a conductor.

"But it's so ugly!" she continued. "Luffy, do you really want to use this ship?"

"The Merry is too small, and its keel doesn't allow it to be upgraded. This ship is fine—it can fly," Luffy said.

On that note, he asked Gan Fall, "Is it finished?"

"Just one more day. Only the final decorations are left."

"Then, please—"

"Wait a second! Can we make some changes? That huge symbol is ugly, and the control device at the front looks even worse. How much gold was wasted on that? It's got no aesthetic appeal! At the very least, paint our Straw Hat flag on it," Nami demanded firmly.

Everyone turned to Luffy, waiting for the captain's decision.

"If we're going to make proper changes, we should go to Water 7… They have the best shipyards in the world."

"Well, if you say so, we'll follow your lead. But at least change that symbol to our pirate flag. You agree it's ugly, don't you, Luffy?" Nami asked.

After hearing her, Luffy had to admit—it did look a bit ugly.

The others nodded in agreement, praising Nami's suggestion.

"Alright then. Let's make the changes. How long will it take?"

"Three days," Gan Fall replied.

"Then we'll wait. Nami, Vivi, come with me. The rest of you can head back to the Sunny. Zoro, use the Revolving Heaven to bring the Merry to the shore."

"Got it!"

Later, Luffy, Vivi, and Nami returned to the temple.

"You left us behind on purpose, Luffy-sama? Is there something important?" Vivi looked at Nami in silence, a little uneasy.

Was he going to confess their relationship to her?

She wasn't ready for that.

Would Nami be mad?

Nami smiled and asked, "What's going on, Luffy?"

"Take these two Devil Fruits," Luffy said, pulling out the Ame Ame no Mi and the Goro Goro no Mi, then explaining them.

After hearing his explanation, both women were shocked.

"A Logia-type Devil Fruit… That's extremely rare, isn't it?" Nami murmured, staring at the Goro Goro no Mi in her hands, her expression dazed.

"The Ame Ame no Mi…"

Vivi was so moved she almost cried. That fruit was worth billions—perhaps even more—for Alabasta.

Something so rare… Luffy must have paid a great price to get it.

Without thinking, she threw herself into Luffy's arms, forgetting that Nami was standing right there.

"Thank you, Luffy."

Nami remained silent.

Although she had suspected it before, she hadn't given it much thought.

Now, seeing Luffy give two rare Logia fruits to her and Vivi, she understood everything.

She remembered what her sister Nojiko had told her back in Little Garden:

Take good care of your man.

She sighed quietly to herself. After some thought, she realized she was just a girl from a small village, while Vivi was a princess, and Luffy came from a noble background.

"Nami," Luffy said as he playfully messed up Vivi's hair, "Even if you try to run, I won't let you."

Upon hearing that, Vivi—lost in emotion—suddenly snapped back to reality.

Her face went pale as she pulled away from Luffy's hug and turned to Nami, stammering:

"I'm sorry, Nami. It's my fault! That day, I—"

"It's fine."

Nami took her hand and smiled. "Daughters of the sea don't stress over these things."

Then she turned back to Luffy, pouting with displeasure.

He's way too popular with women!

How long had he known Vivi? A month and a half?

Hmm… That's about the same amount of time as her too.

"Don't be so mad."

Luffy smiled gently and pulled both women into a hug. "I love both of you equally."

To resolve this matter, he had spent a whopping 9,800 Adventure Coins!

Vivi didn't resist him at all—in fact, she looked happy. Nami, on the other hand, struggled for a moment before letting herself be held.

"Luffy, I've decided I'm not talking to you for three days!" Nami huffed. "Vivi, you should do the same! Don't let him sleep with you!"

"Huh?!"

Vivi's face turned bright red. Nami really had a bold mouth.

After that, Nami pulled away and ran off with Vivi.

She said she wouldn't speak to him for three days—but came back that very night.

Dragging Vivi with her, the three of them shared a bed.

According to Nami's logic, the best way to keep her man in check… was to drain him completely.

Naturally, Luffy couldn't let that provocation slide—and mercilessly "punished" them both until morning.

Three days later.

The Ark Maxim was fully completed, and a huge Straw Hat flag had been painted on the side of the ship.

Nami, who had eaten the Goro Goro no Mi, activated the massive vessel.

Although she had just eaten the fruit and was still less experienced than Enel, navigating the ship was no problem.

The giant Ark Maxim lifted off from the cave at the mountaintop and reached the highest point in Skypiea.

Standing at the peak, they had a clear view of the entire Sky Island—and the Blue Sea below.

Luffy punched the golden bell.

DONG—!

The deep chime echoed across the sky, spreading far and wide until it reached the Blue Sea—where it resonated all the way to Jaya Island.
