Chapter 109: CHAPTER 106: Results
After losing the pirate game, Foxy "accepted his fate" and joined Luffy's crew.
At the same time, Luffy also received a reward of 200 adventure coins for it.
Before moving on, Foxy gave a formal farewell to his former crew. He gathered his subordinates, who, although reluctant, respected his decision.
"Captain… are you really leaving us?" Hamburg asked, tears in his eyes.
Foxy swallowed hard, turning his back to hide his emotions. "A pirate's path is full of dramatic farewells! Don't cry for me!"
In honor of everything they had been through together, they organized a grand farewell party that night.
They invited the Straw Hat Crew to join. Everyone drank happily throughout the night—except Luffy, who preferred the silence of the beach.
It wasn't that he disliked this kind of pirate showmanship; he just didn't enjoy noisy environments.
And whenever he showed up, the mood of the party would shift.
It was like a company meeting from a past life. Everyone was eating, drinking, chatting, and having fun—but the moment the leader arrived, silence fell.
Knowing that, he chose not to join in.
"It's not that I hate parties..." Luffy murmured, sitting in front of the Going Merry. "But every time I show up, the atmosphere changes... just like those company meetings." He said this while pulling out Ace's Vivre Card.
Before, only one corner was burning, but now the burn had spread—almost half the paper was gone, and it showed no signs of stopping.
"Ace… why are you still there? Running away was never your thing, huh?" he said, worry in his eyes.
Putting aside the matter of Ace, Luffy was more concerned about Blackbeard's movements.
The man who stirred more unease in his heart than any admiral. "You've started moving, haven't you, Teach?"
Why had Blackbeard and his crew left Loguetown back then? What were they planning?
He inherited Rocks' will and wanted to rule the world.
In the original timeline, capturing Ace and handing him over to the Navy to start the war was all part of his plan.
He knew Ace was Roger's son, and that Whitebeard would never abandon him.
He also knew the Navy would execute Ace publicly—and Whitebeard would come to save him no matter what.
His target was Whitebeard's Devil Fruit.
"I need to be prepared in case Whitebeard dies, so that Blackbeard doesn't get his Fruit. Before the war begins, I need to get a blank Fruit."
As Luffy drifted in thought, footsteps echoed in the sand behind him. It was Zoro, holding a bottle of sake.
"Luffy," he called, sitting beside the captain.
"Hey."
"This island… doesn't it feel strange to you?"
Luffy glanced around and replied, "No people, but all kinds of weird animals. Long dogs, flat wolves, even oversized apples. But yeah, something's off."
Zoro frowned. "I didn't see any houses, villages, or even human footprints…"
"That's because you're only seeing what your Observation Haki allows," Luffy said with a smile. "This is Long Ring Island. An archipelago made up of ten islets arranged in a circle. For most of the year, high tide covers everything except these ten. But for three hours a year, the low tide reveals the full island."
Zoro's eyes widened. "So the people who live here…"
"...are nomads," Luffy finished. "They move between the islands when the tide is low."
"You saw all this yourself?" Zoro asked, surprised.
Pausing for a moment, Luffy teased, "Your Observation Haki range is too small, can't cover the whole area—that's why you thought no one was here."
"I saw it with my Haki. To the north, on the next islet, there's an entire village," Luffy said. "And don't worry. With training, you'll get there too."
Zoro suddenly understood and said with admiration, "I see."
But that wasn't all.
The next island after Long Ring is Water 7.
Water 7 is hit by a massive wave every year, known locally as the "Aqua Laguna."
And the moment of low tide on Long Ring Island is almost the same time the Aqua Laguna hits Water 7.
Zoro slowly nodded. "I want to train my Observation Haki. I need to get stronger."
"That's going to take a lot of effort. No one's born strong; it's all earned with sweat and hard work!"
Luffy spoke seriously: "Instead of Observation Haki, you should focus first on mastering Armament Haki."
"Is there a good method?"
"Don't use your swords—try breaking Galdino's Candle Wall with your fists."
The Candle Wall has hardness comparable to iron.
Zoro's eyes lit up and he smiled. "Got it. Thanks, Captain."
Soon after, he walked off to find Mr. 3, who was trying to sneak away from the party. "You're going to help me with special training," Zoro said, grabbing him by the collar.
The night passed, the party ended at dawn, and the crew was scattered across the ground like sacks of potatoes.
Luffy opened the Adventure Shop and made two purchases, getting a box of Rokushiki Fruits, which were even on sale.
It only cost 500 adventure coins to buy all six.
"Chopper, let's repeat yesterday's process. I want more of those enhancement potions."
"Got it, Luffy!" the doctor replied, already setting up his little improvised lab.
After that, it was time for training.
They didn't use Thunderclouds like the day before, but instead found suitable opponents to spar with.
---
By the fifth day, everyone's training finally showed results.
[Zoro mastered: Kami-e, Soru, and Tekkai — Reward: 600 adventure coins!]
[Sanji mastered: Geppo — Reward: 200 coins]
[Bartolomeo mastered: Tekkai — Reward: 200 coins]
Additionally, Usopp learned "Kami-e," Yosaku learned "Soru," Johnny learned "Tekkai," Nami learned "Soru," and both Robin and Chopper mastered "Shigan."
Of course, the former Baroque Works members also mastered one of the six styles.
Unfortunately, the Three Women were still too weak, and for now, none of them managed to master any move.
In total, they consumed seven Rokushiki Fruits, and Luffy earned 3,200 adventure coins.
[Adventure Coins]: 6825
"Now that's what I call profit!" Luffy exclaimed. "Six fruits, six techniques… and I made a ton of money in the process. At this rate, the whole crew will master the Six Styles."
Luffy thought happily.
This shouldn't be considered a system exploit, but rather the result of everyone's hard work. He only gave a little help.
"Nami, is the Log Pose fully charged?"
"It was fully charged last night. You want to end the training?"
"Training can be done anytime. It's already time to head to the next island."
Luffy's orders were quickly relayed, and the entire crew wrapped up their training one by one and boarded their respective ships.
The three pirate ships set sail toward the next island.
The newly arrived Foxy was assigned to the second division.

"Hmph. If you really want to be useful, then entertain me, try to throw those pathetic power stones at me. Let's see if even your insolence can amuse a king."
