One Piece: Otherworldly Arsenal

"Carter-aniki! Please can we take a break!?" the strained voice of Luffy broke through the afternoon air. "I can't take it!" 

This past week could be summed up in a few words. I beat the dumbass out of them. At least as much as I could. Luffy was still too free in his attitude but as the chosen vessel of the Nika fruit that was alright as long as I got the boy to think a bit more logically. Which surprisingly I had. He could now weigh decisions and their consequences… sometimes anyway. The same goes for Ace. I had to use a lot of meat to get that done. Justice, Dive, and Al had a very fun week. 

But now I was training them for their own strength. At this moment I had the two of them carrying boulders back and forth between two trees half a mile apart. All the while I had also strapped my seastone gauntlet to Luffy and the chunk of seastone I had received to Ace. This trained their bodies' resilience and their devil fruit's resistance to seastone. 

"You only have three more hours till sundown. Quit being a baby." 

I smiled at the two boy's cries of despair. "Damn bastard! I hate you!" came from Ace. 

"Dark volt." I said, fighting a small bolt of lighting in his general direction, causing him to yelp and pick up speed.

'These kids don't know it but I'm really doing them a favor. When Luffy decides to set sail there will be no one in the east blue capable of beating him after all the extra training I've given him.'

My thought was interrupted by my den-den mushi ringing.

"Puru-puru-puru-kachak"

"Cadet Davil." I heard the voice of the woman from HQ. She sounded like she was dreading this call. 'I wonder why?'

"The bounty hunt free period is over. You have one month to make it back to HQ for your results to be counted. Any and all bounties collected during your journey back will also count towards your final score. That is all. Goodbye." She ended the call before I could get a single word in. 

'Well, it was fun while it lasted.' I thought as I called over Justice and had her fetch my brothers. 

When she arrived with the two in tow I removed my seastone trinkets from them. "Alright boys, it's time for me to head back to marineford." 

"Really!? Yes!" Luffy blurted out excitedly. 

My eye twitched and I immediately planted my haki coated fist onto his head. "Brat! Show some sadness that your big brother is leaving!" 

Luffy yelped and apologized. Ace just looked at him like the idiot he was and Justice made a growl that sounded like chuckling.

I sighed and pulled out a seemingly normal sheet of paper. Of course this was not the case at all. It was my vivre card. I infused the blank one with a strand of my hair and it became a normal functioning Vivre card. I still have no damn clue how it works or how it's somehow connected to the damn soul but I have learned not to question One Piece logic.

I tore two small pieces from the card and placed the rest back into my inventory. 

"These are pieces of my Vivre card." I gave a brief explanation of what they did. "If you ever find yourselves in a pinch you can always follow these back to your big brother." 

Of course I was going to make sure they could find me in the grand line. I'd be an irresponsible brother if I don't. 

"Thanks I guess," Ace said after tucking his piece away. 

I smiled at my brothers and decided to give them a little fun before I left. "Alright, since I'm leaving I'll have Justice hunt us a bunch of meat for a send off party!" 

That got a resounding "Yeah!" out of the boys.

A few hours later I was standing with Justice With all our supplies packed. I was facing my brothers fr the last time for several years. "Oh right! Luffy, I've got something for you." I said as I pulled out the silver knuckles. "These are for you. They'll make your attacks hit harder." 

Luffy took them with stars in his eyes. "Awesome! Thanks big bro Carter!" 

"Hey, why don't I get a cool weapon?" Ace said with a pout. 

I made a tick appear on my forehead. "Do you want me to give you a special tool even after you ate my devil fruit?" I sailed as I grabbed his head in my haki coated hand. 

Ace immediately started to sweat. "N-never mind aniki! You already gave me more than enough!"The tension in his voice was hilarious. 

Luffy however was completely oblivious to this as he slipped the silver knuckles onto his hands then suddenly paused. "Umm, Carter? These sound weird." 

I froze. That one sentence was what I had desperately been wanting to hear from Luffy's mouth since I had arrived here. Why, you ask? Well it because it means my plan of giving the strawhats different system items to ensure they all meet up in the future will actually work. 

Explanation time! What I had discovered after gaining the voice of all things was that a feature of system Items was that they gave off a unique frequency that only the voice of all things could perceive. 

That was the true reason I was giving members of the strawhats system items and not just hoping fate would unite them all like in cannon.

With my perfect memory skill I skimmed the entire plot of one piece I knew which was right up until after the Elbaf arc. For anime and manga. It was this skill that allowed me to remember that in the warship island filler arc luffy was able to understand the ancient sennenryu (millennial dragon) when no one else could besides apis who had the hiso hiso no mi. 

After remembering this fact I had taken a gamble on this actually being Luffy's voice of all things in action. And now I finally had proof that I was correct. 

I let out a sigh of relief and gave luffy a happy smile. "That's because it was made by a special devil fruit. I've given a few other items like this to five other people in the east blue and a few more in the grand line. I think you should look for them if you want to have a strong crew." I said. 

"Suge! If carter aniki says they're strong then I definitely need them in my crew!" Luffy declared. 

I smiled knowing I had set history in motion. Then a thought occurred to me. "Oh right." I said as I pulled two syringes I had picked up out of my inventory. "I need a sample of both of your blood." 

My two brothers froze for a split second. Then they bolted away without hesitation. "RUN!" 

I smiled. 'One last chase? This should be fun.'

A few hours later and It was just me and my companions again.

"So. Carter-boy, where to next?" Al said as his shadowy body poked out of my golden ring. Just like his cannon counterpart he didn't like the idea of others knowing about him so he had elected to stay hidden in my ring. Justice let out a groe of curiosity as well. 

"We're headed to loguetown. There are some swords there I want to get my hands on." I answered. "Then after that we head to the grand line." 

But before that, I had a call to make. 

"Puru puru puru, Kachak."

"Yo Carter! I heard that your bounty hunt is almost over. How's it going?" The cheerful voice of Garp came through the communication mollusc. 

"It's going well, vice admiral. I just left Foosha village, Ace and Luffy are doing well." 

"Really? That's good to hear! They aren't still spouting that nonsense about being pirates are they?" 

"Unfortunately they still are. I even beat the crap out of them and even gave them to Justice for a few days. But still nothing. I swear Garp, those boys have such unbreakable wills I won't be surprised if both have conqueror's haki." I told the old man. 

"Those damn brats! I'll make them marines if it's the last thing I ever do!" Garp shouted through the snail. "Nothing else happened, did it?" 

"Well there was one thing." I said feigning disappointment. "I found a powerful logia devil fruit. The mera-mera no mi." 

"What!? That's great! It'll make a fine contribution to the marines!" 

"Yeah, that's the problem. Ace ate it." 

"..." 

The silence was palpable. 

"HE WHAT!?" The shout tore through the air like a dam missile. Justice got startled and dipped mid air for a second. She wiped her head around and glared at the den-den mushi with a glare that promised pain for Garp once we arrived back on marineford. 

"Yeah, he ate it. But on the bright side you have a new grandson." 

The anger evaporated from Garp in an instant. "Eh? Since when?" 

"Well, I've declared myself Luffy and Ace's older brother. And since they are your grandsons that makes me your grandson too. Right?" 

There was silence for a moment.

"Bwahaha! Yes! I finally have another member of my family in the marines! You're definitely my grandson now Carter! No take backs! Let's celebrate with senbei when you get back!" 

I smiled. "Sounds good to me."

About a day later we arrived at the gates of loguetown and people nearly had a heart attack when they saw Justice. We just laughed and made our way to the marine branch. I wanted to properly meet Smoker, and Zephir also wanted me to check how he was doing. 

Justice and I drew the eyes of every marine in the building the moment we walked in. some were startled and bolted away but I wasn't worried. 

I could hear many whispers about us going on in the background but on one dared to approach because of Justice's unfriendly attitude towards outsiders. Not surprising when she can read the innermost thoughts of literally everyone around her. 

I finally arrived at Smokers's office and with the complete understanding of what I was about to do- 

I kicked the door down. 

"Smoker-senpai! I've got a message from Zephyr-sensei!" I barged in without a care in the world. 

I seriously didn't give a shit. The man was trained by Zephir but here in the east blue he had completely neglected his haki and relied almost exclusively on his logia fruit. Something Zephir had drilled into us that was just a bad idea. He was pathetic at the moment so until he marined the fuck up and got to vice admiral level I wasnt giving him any respect. 

I watched in glee as Smoker Jumped up in panic at the disturbance before he registered my words. 

"Wow, you actually didn't sense me coming? Ha! Zephyr-sensei is going to have a field day with this." I chuckled as I leaned on the wall. 

It took a full seventeen seconds for Smoker to comprehend my words and actions and as he finally did his face turned red in a cross of fury and embarrassment. 

"Brat! Who the hell do you think you are!?" 

"I'm Carter Davil. By Zephyr-sensei's own word im the most talented marine he has trained since the three admirals. I'm also vice admiral Garp's adopted grandson and the guy who in the span of a few days wiped out some of the east blue's most dangerous pirates." I said with a smirk. "So basically I'm the guy who did your job for you before I've even been given an official rank by the higher ups. You're welcome by the way." 

Was I being a smug little bastard? Yes. Did I deserve it? I felt I did. Was I absolutely loving the face that screamed fury and nervousness at my words? Absolutely. 

Before Smoker could react any further I spun on my heel and began walking out the door. "Welp, I just came here to check on you on Zephyr-sensei's request. I'm leaving now. If you ever decide to be a proper marine again I suppose I'll see you around HQ. Later!" 

I didn't stick around for much longer but I did hear a very irate shout of: "MY DOOR!" came from his office and I could hear smoker start ranting about something I didn't have the energy to care about. 

As soon as we left the building justice and I made our way to Ipponmatsu's arms shop. I was here for the Sandai Kitetsu and the Yubashiri as well as any other blade or weapon that caught my eye. 

Stepping inside, I didn't see the owner so I just decided to grab the object of my interest right off the bat. I approached the weapons marked as "cheap" and used my voice of all things to search for the Kitetsu's wil. I found it in moments and as soon as I reached out to grasp it, it seemed to sense my intent. 

The moment I grasped it a deep aura enveloped the blade. it sent out a sensation, one that reminded me of the one I had felt the first time I had unsheathed akuma-ketsujin.

Just like last time I felt like it was asking me a question. Whether or not I was worthy. Well this time something i was not expecting happened. 

It seemed that akuma-ketsujin felt insulted that the Kitetsu was questioning the worthiness of its master because its own aura erupted and seemed to blend with the Kitetsu for a moment. A moment later, both auras disappeared. And the Kitetsu accepted me as its wielder. 

'That was easier than I expected.' I thought with a small smirk. I unsheathed the blade and admired my newest cursed blade. 

However, a moment later I was broken from my thoughts by a shaking voice. 

"Y-y-you tamed that sword!?" 

I turned to face the voice and was met with the trembling form of Ipponmatsu. 

"Why yes, I did. I Kind of have a knack for earning the respect of cursed swords. This one will be the third in my collection." 

"T-t-third!?" my statement made the poor shop owner's brain short circuit for a moment. After his brain finally reset he bolted into the back of the shop and ran upstairs. 

'Well, looks like I've gotten the approval of a sword enthusiast.' I inwardly chuckled knowing that Ipponmatsu was likely going to get me the Yubashiri. 

As I thought, a moment later the man came rushing back down. Clutching the black scabbard of the skillful grade blade. 

"I don't know who you are, and I don't know your intentions. But I do know that this sword should be in the hands of a real swordsman, and if you were able to tame three cursed swords then that means you are most definitely a great swordsman." he held out the blade for me to take. "It's the skillful grade blade: Yubashiri." 

I took the sword from him with a thank you and paid the man. Then I decided to leave. I had other places to be after all.
