"Woohoo!"
In less than two days, the chilling wind howled across the white expanse of snow and ice.
Shiryu of the Rain, clad in a thick cloak, held an oversized Gatling gun, its multiple barrels gleaming menacingly.
Watching Wilhelm, who stood blindfolded and deliberately put himself in the line of fire, Shiryu couldn't help but twitch at the corners of his mouth.
Unable to suppress his disbelief, he asked again, "Master Wilhelm, are you absolutely sure about this?"
"Don't worry," Wilhelm replied confidently. "Even with the maximum multiplier of the Momo-Momo no Mi ability you can currently manage, all it will do is cause me some pain—it won't kill me."
Wilhelm's words were resolute. Time had been well spent preparing, and things were beginning to fall into place.
Before making their move to leave Impel Down, Wilhelm had been careful to ensure that the prisoners in the Blazing Hell on the fourth floor and the Eternal Hell on the sixth floor recovered just enough strength every three to five days. This would prevent Magellan, the prison's fearsome director, from noticing anything suspicious too soon.
Now, Wilhelm seized this opportunity to train his Observation Haki and Armament Haki, using Shiryu of the Rain's Momo-Momo no Mi abilities to push his limits.
"Jie hee hee~, what a lunatic!"
Old Johnny, wrapped tightly in a padded jacket to shield himself from the cold, let out his peculiar laugh, clearly amused by Wilhelm's boldness.
"Master Wilhelm, I should warn you," Hawkins Ain, now completely transformed from his previously disheveled state, spoke in a calm and serious tone.
Dressed in a pristine white coat, he looked every bit the distinguished scientist. "This is the latest Gatling gun I've developed using the abilities of the Munch-Munch Fruit. Its power is far beyond that of ordinary firearms!"
Hawkins adjusted his glasses and continued, "This Gatling gun has a firing rate of 6,000 rounds per minute, an effective range of two kilometers, and a maximum range of over five kilometers.
With Shiryu's Momo-Momo no Mi amplifying its power, the destructive potential is enough to send chills down anyone's spine."
The gun was constructed using a revolutionary material: Hawkins Alloy.
By mastering the abilities of the Munch-Munch Fruit, Hawkins had fused numerous weapons, tools, and metals consumed from the warehouse to create a special shape-memory alloy—an unbreakable, high-temperature-resistant material, and one of the hardest substances in the world.
As one of the world's leading scientists, Hawkins immediately recognized the groundbreaking value of this new material.
He named it Hawkins Alloy after himself and had used it, at Wilhelm's request, to craft this advanced Gatling gun.
In testing, the gun far outperformed any other Gatling weapon in existence.
Thanks to the durability and heat resistance of the Hawkins Alloy, the barrels could maintain continuous, high-powered fire without damage.
Hawkins was concerned that Wilhelm might be underestimating the gun's power—and overestimating his own abilities. He feared Wilhelm could be shredded to pieces in seconds.
Although life on Level 5.5 of Impel Down was much better than the torturous existence of Eternal Hell, Hawkins still wanted to escape this place as soon as possible.
"Alright, let's use this for a little warm-up," Shiryu of the Rain finally said, seeing Wilhelm's determination.
Knowing full well how monstrous Wilhelm's physique was, Shiryu stopped trying to dissuade him. Instead, he aimed the multi-barreled Gatling gun squarely at Wilhelm.
Without hesitation, Shiryu pulled the trigger.
"Da-da-da-da-da!"
In an instant, flames erupted from the barrels, and countless bullets roared into the icy air.
The bullets streaked through the wind like lightning, heading straight for the blindfolded Wilhelm.
"Whoosh! Swipe! Swish!"
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
But Wilhelm moved effortlessly, weaving through the storm of bullets like a thin, weightless piece of paper.
Wilhelm's body twisted and moved at impossible angles, effortlessly dodging every single bullet from the Gatling gun.
In the blink of an eye, he avoided hundreds of rounds, weaving through the dense rain of bullets that filled the air.
Behind him, a small iceberg—ten meters high—bore the brunt of the bombardment.
Under the relentless assault, it erupted in a massive wave of air and flying ice shards, scattering debris in all directions.
The sight alone was enough to make anyone watching break into a cold sweat.
"Paper Art from the Six Powers?" Shiryu of the Rain muttered, his eyebrow twitching. Despite his observation, he didn't stop firing.
The Gatling gun's barrels glowed red-hot, spitting flames as they continued their relentless assault.
"Gulp!"
Dr. Hawkins and Johnny stood frozen, their mouths agape as they watched Wilhelm dodge the hailstorm of bullets with impossible precision.
"Is this guy even human?" Johnny whispered, his voice shaky.
Hawkins swallowed hard, a cold shiver running down his spine. The sheer display of Wilhelm's strength made him feel both awe and dread.
For a full minute, the relentless barrage continued, yet Wilhelm remained unscathed.
"Stop wasting time. Let's move on, Shiryu," Wilhelm said, his deep voice steady despite the chaos around him.
Shiryu nodded solemnly. "Alright. Let's start with five times speed."
Without hesitation, Shiryu activated his Momo-Momo no Mi powers. Holding the Gatling gun firmly, he pulled the trigger once more.
"Momo: Fivefold Gatling Gun!"
"Da-da-da-da-da!"
The barrels roared to life again, spinning rapidly as a flood of bullets erupted from the gun. These rounds were far faster than before, moving too quickly for the naked eye to track.
Wilhelm's Observation Haki kicked into full gear. Blocking out all distractions, he focused entirely on the incoming "sounds" of the bullets, trying to anticipate and "see" their trajectories.
Even at fivefold speed, Wilhelm managed to dodge the bullets. He moved with grace and precision, narrowly escaping the onslaught.
"Boom!"
Behind him, the bullets struck the ice wall with deafening explosions, shattering it into countless shards. Waves of air blasted outward, scattering debris and kicking up fierce winds that stung the eyes of everyone watching.
For three full minutes, Shiryu kept firing until the Gatling gun finally ran out of ammunition.
Dr. Hawkins, his expression twitching with unease, stepped forward. Opening his mouth, he used his Munch-Munch Fruit ability to spit out a fresh chain of bullets. The thick, heavy chain hit the ground with a thud, kicking up snow and ice.
"This still isn't enough. Increase the multiplier!" Wilhelm commanded, his voice unwavering.
"Understood. Momo: Tenfold Gatling Gun!" Shiryu replied, pulling the trigger once more.
The Gatling gun roared to life again. This time, the bullets were not only ten times faster but also ten times larger—each round the size of an ordinary person's fist.
The relentless barrage seemed to seal off every possible escape route.
Realizing that dodging was no longer an option, Wilhelm made a bold decision.
Planting his feet firmly, he clenched his fists, wrapping them in Armament Haki. His fists moved so quickly that they seemed to catch fire, glowing red-hot as they tore through the air.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
With a series of deafening impacts, Wilhelm began punching the incoming bullets, creating shockwaves with every blow.
His fists moved so fast that they left behind afterimages, creating a storm of punches that deflected or shattered many of the bullets.
But even with his incredible speed and strength, the sheer volume of the attack was overwhelming. One bullet slipped through his defenses, slamming into him with immense force and sending him flying backward.
"Boom!"
The impact shattered the ice wall behind him into pieces, sending a cascade of ice and snow into the air.
For anyone else, such an attack would have been lethal. But Wilhelm emerged from the debris, completely unscathed, as if nothing had happened.
"Gulp!"
"He's not human..." Johnny muttered, trembling.
Hawkins nodded in stunned agreement. "To withstand that kind of onslaught and act like it's nothing... This guy really is a monster."
Even Shiryu, who prided himself on his strength and ruthlessness, found himself momentarily shaken. "Tch... unbelievable," he muttered, taking a sharp breath.
Suddenly, sparks of electricity began crackling around Wilhelm's body.
"What the...?" Hawkins whispered, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Arcs of lightning danced across Wilhelm's form, growing brighter and more intense. His muscles twitched and flexed under the stimulation, and his nerve responses heightened to their absolute peak.
The lightning surrounding him made his long silver-white hair flow wildly, giving him a divine, untouchable appearance.
Wilhelm's voice boomed through the air, filled with unyielding confidence.
"Come again!"
