One Piece: Rise of Valoria

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: A Donut-Filled Offer

William placed a friendly arm around Garp's shoulder and grinned. "So, old man, how about you join us and help take down those pigs?"

Garp snorted. "No way. I'm a Marine. Someday, I'm going to catch you two troublemakers and toss you into Impel Down."

William chuckled. "Too bad. I heard you like donuts, and I just happen to have the best donuts you'll ever taste."

Garp's eyebrows lifted in interest. "What kind of donuts are we talking about here?"

William smirked mischievously. "The kind you've probably never tasted. Glazed, jelly-filled, cream-filled, chocolate frosted. Cake donuts and—"

Garp swallowed audibly. "And what, kid? What else?"

William's smirk widened. "Donut holes. Bite-sized perfection. Now, reconsider my offer, and I'll give you an unlimited supply of these heavenly treats."

Garp's eyes narrowed, and he rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Your offer is very... very tempting. But I'm still going to refuse."

William laughed and removed his arm. "No rush. Think it over. In the meantime, how about I share some donuts with you? But you have to provide the tea."

Garp waved him inside. "Let's go. Dadan! Make us some tea!"

The group entered the bandits' hideout, where Dadan grumbled but complied, bringing a steaming pot of tea. As the tea brewed, William reached into his space dimension and pulled out an impressive array of donuts, placing them on the table.

As Garp took a bite of a jelly-filled donut, his eyes widened in delight. "What's this one called?"

"Jelly-filled," William replied with a grin.

Garp eagerly grabbed a chocolate-frosted donut next. "And this?"

"Chocolate frosted."

Dragon sighed, shaking his head as Garp devoured donut after donut, asking questions about each one like an excited child.

Soon, little Luffy and Ace joined the table, drawn by the sweet aroma. William handed them alot of donuts, and their faces lit up with joy. "This is awesome!" Luffy exclaimed, crumbs falling from his mouth.

"Eat properly, you brat!" Garp barked, throwing a donut hole at Luffy's head.

Ace leaned over to Luffy and whispered, "Let's have a donut-eating contest!" Luffy's eyes sparkled with excitement, eagerly nodding as he grabbed another donut, determined to finish more than his brother.

Ace, however, began to slow down, his eyes drooping as he struggled to keep eating. Before long, he slumped forward, snoring softly with a half-eaten donut in his hand. Luffy grinned triumphantly, his cheeks stuffed with donuts. "I win!" he declared, crumbs flying everywhere.

Meanwhile, Garp, who had been munching contentedly, suddenly dozed off mid-bite, his head tilting back as he snored loudly. Spotting an opportunity, Luffy tried to sneak one of Garp's donuts.

Just as Luffy's fingers touched the prized treat, Garp's eyes snapped open. Without missing a beat, he delivered a solid punch to Luffy's head. Luffy yelped and rubbed his head.

The laughter around the table was infectious, and soon even Dragon joined in, sipping his tea with a faint smile.

---

After the meal, Garp leaned back in his chair, patting his stomach. "Dragon, since you've joined William's kingdom, as your father, I demand you send me a monthly supply of these donuts."

William smirked. "Hey, that's cheating, old man. You only get My kingdom's donuts if you join us."

Garp scowled. "Don't be stingy, you stupid kid."

Garp turned to Dragon, his tone more serious. "So, why are you here, Dragon?"

Dragon straightened. "I'm here to take Luffy to Valoria."

"Valoria?" Garp asked.

"It's our kingdom," Dragon explained. "There are schools, children his age, and someone who can train him to be strong."

Ace, sitting nearby, scowled and jumped to his feet. "Who are you, and why do you want to take my brother?"

Before Dragon could respond, William stepped forward. "Kid, do you know who I am?"

Ace's eyes narrowed. "Yeah. You're the tyrant. The worst criminal in the world."

William chuckled. "Well, I'm here to take Luffy with me. Can a weak kid like you stop me?"

Ace grabbed a metal pipe, placing himself protectively in front of Luffy, who was still licking frosting from his fingers. "I'm not weak! I won't let you take my brother!"

William grinned and released a small wave of Conqueror's Haki, directing it toward Ace. To everyone's surprise, Ace responded instinctively, unleashing his own Conqueror's Haki.

William laughed. "Dragon, it seems we've found a gem."

Turning back to Ace, William asked. "What's your name, kid?"

"Portgas D. Ace." the boy replied defiantly.

William nodded, intrigued. "I see. Do you want to come with me and see the real world? You think you're strong, but do you know that I, this old man Garp, and Dragon could destroy this entire island with a single attack?"

Luffy, now standing and holding his own pipe, shouted, "That's awesome!"

Ace glared. "Impossible. You're lying."

William's grin widened. "Nothing is impossible, kid. Come with me, and I'll make you strong."

Garp frowned. "Hey, William, that's my grandson. He and Luffy are going to be excellent Marines."

Ace scowled. "Stinky old man! I'm not going to be a Marine! I want to be a pirate and make my name famous!"

Luffy chimed in. "Me too! I'm going to be the Pirate King!"

Garp's fists shot out, bonking both boys on their heads. "Brats! Stop saying such stupid things!"

William turned back to Ace, his tone serious. "Kid, do you want to kill, steal, and destroy islands? Because that's what pirates do. Believe me, I've seen it with my own eyes."

Ace hesitated, gripping his pipe tightly. "No. I just want to be free. I don't want to hurt people. I want to find the reason for my existence. I want to earn the right to live and prove that I'm better than him."

William tilted his head, his curiosity piqued. "Him who?"

Ace clenched his fists, anger flashing in his eyes. "Roger. The Pirate King."

William raised an eyebrow. "You seem to hate him a lot. Why?"

Ace's lips pressed into a thin line, refusing to answer.

Garp let out a heavy sigh, his expression softening. "Ace is Roger's son."
