One Piece: Silent-Silent Fruit

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Do You Want the Same Power as Them? Then Take It

"Heavenly Fire!"

BIG MOM raised the miniature sun and smashed it straight at Katakuri. A violent explosion of flames burst forth.

Katakuri didn't resist. He let BIG MOM strike him without even using Armament Haki to defend himself. The raging fire scorched his body, leaving him badly burned.

Yet when Katakuri stood back up, everyone was stunned to see that all his injuries had vanished.

"Huh? His wounds are gone!"

"Look closely! They're really gone! Just a moment ago, he was severely burned by Mama's power and Prometheus's flames—how can this be?"

Members of the Charlotte Family spoke up in disbelief.

"Hm! This ability truly is something! Mamamama! Looks like this mark didn't weaken your power—it actually made you stronger. Well then, that's fine!"

BIG MOM stared at Katakuri for a while, then suddenly broke into a wide grin. Just seconds ago, she'd been in a fury, and now she was humming with joy, singing to herself as if nothing had happened. "Time for a tea party! Send an invitation to Rosinante—I want Rosinante to attend the tea party. Oh, sweet, delicious cakes!"

"Yes, Mama! I'll get started on the preparations right away!"

Perospero wiped the cold sweat from his brow, relieved at her mood swing.

"As for delivering the invitation to Rosinante, I'm leaving that to you, Katakuri. You must bring Rosinante to Whole Cake Island. This time, there can be no mistakes."

BIG MOM's tone turned serious as she addressed Katakuri. The look in her eyes made it clear—if he failed, the consequences would be dire.

"Yes, Mama," Katakuri replied solemnly. He seemed like he wanted to say something, but in the end, he kept it to himself.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Rosinante was lying in bed, recuperating.

The battle against Katakuri had left him with serious injuries. Though his "Wound Seal" ability had temporarily sealed the damage, the wounds hadn't vanished—they were just suppressed.

Unlocking his body's natural restraints already carried extreme risk. But Rosinante had pushed even further, unleashing dozens of limit-breaking Collapse Punches while in that dangerous state.

Collapse Punch was a technique that channeled power explosively. Under normal conditions, Rosinante had enough control to avoid self-injury. But once his self-limit was lifted, his strength skyrocketed beyond his control. Coupled with the technique's energy-charging nature, this had wreaked havoc on his body.

When he engraved the Wound Seal on himself, Rosinante also placed a personal safety threshold—an internal warning line for how severe his injuries could be. He had always taken great care not to let his wounds cross that line.

Because once they did, if the Wound Seal were ever lifted completely… he would die instantly.

Call it cowardice or self-preservation, but Rosinante valued his life immensely. Even though his Devil Fruit was miraculous—even though the Wound Seal was borderline invincible—he feared that someday, it might suddenly fail.

After all, in this bizarre world of Devil Fruits, who's to say there isn't an ability that could nullify his own?

So he'd always been careful. But this fight had pushed him too far—his sealed injuries had now far exceeded the safety line.

To ease the burden, Rosinante partially released the Wound Seal, allowing his body's own healing to kick in and mend the injuries naturally. Once the damage dropped below the threshold, he could reseal the rest.

"Your Majesty, Jack and the others have returned!"

Bins entered the room to report.

Bins was now Rosinante's chief bodyguard. Meanwhile, Felost had been appointed as the kingdom's minister, handling the daily affairs of the Kingdom of Joromia.

Rosinante liked the title of king, but not the work—so he'd passed off nearly all the kingdom's politics to Felost.

"Send them in," Rosinante said calmly.

Moments later, Jack and his group entered the room with a group of people in tow.

"Your Majesty, you're looking a little rough, huh?"

Jack said with a mischievous grin upon seeing Rosinante covered in wounds.

"Well, my opponent was Katakuri of the BIG MOM Pirates. It's hard not to look rough after that," Rosinante replied coolly.

The mention of "BIG MOM Pirates" and "Katakuri" wiped the smirks off everyone's faces. Surprise and concern appeared in their expressions.

They hadn't expected the enemy to be someone from the BIG MOM Pirates. And judging by Rosinante's words… he'd actually defeated Katakuri? That same Katakuri with an 800 million bounty—the second strongest under BIG MOM herself?

"You all seem to be back a bit late. Did something happen on the way?" Rosinante asked casually.

"Your Majesty, we got caught up fighting this guy. He realized we were in a hurry and did everything he could to stall us. We had no choice but to beat him before returning,"

explained Burs, stepping forward as Jack grunted in silence. As he spoke, Burs flung a brutally beaten man to the floor in front of Rosinante.

The man was covered in blood and bruises, not a single patch of uninjured skin remained. His hands were shackled with Sea Prism Stone cuffs. Yet even in this state, he glared at Rosinante with hatred in his eyes.

"Oh? I see. Well, you've all worked hard. And this is?" Rosinante asked without reproach.

"This is Raelmann the Detonator, captain of the Detonation Pirates. His bounty is 640 million berries. He's a Bomb-Bomb Fruit user, and combined with his strong body techniques, he's incredibly dangerous. Took everything we had to wear him down before finally beating him," Burs said proudly.

"Hmph! Four against one isn't a fair fight! And no matter how I hit them, their wounds just kept healing. That's cheating!"

Raelmann snapped, still seething with rage.

He'd thought his explosive powers could outlast them. Instead, he was the one dragged to defeat!

"Do you want the same kind of power they have? Then I'll give it to you,"

Rosinante stood up and walked over to Raelmann, placing a hand on him.

An immense force of silence surged from Rosinante's hand into Raelmann's body. Raelmann didn't know what it was, but every fiber of his being screamed danger. He tried to struggle—but with his injuries and Sea Prism cuffs, he couldn't move.

After breaking through his physical limit in the last battle, Rosinante's Devil Fruit ability had evolved. What once took a full cup of tea's time to engrave now took only a few minutes—his sealing process had sped up by half.

"Hohoho! Raelmann, now that you've been branded with the Wound Seal, you'll have nearly the same undying power as us. That makes you one of us now!"

Burs laughed heartily.

As his laughter rang out, Raelmann watched in astonishment as his injuries vanished before his eyes.

"What is this…?"

Raelmann muttered in disbelief.

Rosinante waved his hand. Immediately, a minion stepped forward and removed the Sea Prism Stone cuffs from Raelmann.

"Now, let's talk properly. Submit—or die."

Rosinante's words were calm, yet they cut like steel.

Raelmann stood up—then suddenly threw a wild punch straight at Rosinante.
