The moment he saw Sand Crocodile act on his own, Rikuya Kazama immediately shouted from behind.

After all, he knew full well just how powerful the other guy's abilities were.

But even though he warned Sand Crocodile, it was still too late.

Bartolomeo had already prepared his defense in advance.

In an instant, he turned around and formed his signature Commons fingers gesture with both hands.

Then he gave a light grunt.

"Barrier Ball!"

Just as Sand Crocodile's venomous hook was about to pierce his face, it suddenly struck an invisible object.

Sand Crocodile was knocked back on the spot.

But after only a couple of steps back, his body slammed into something hard behind him.

Once he gathered his wits, he realized he had been trapped inside a glass-like spherical barrier.

And needless to say, this was clearly that guy's Devil Fruit power.

"I'd like to see just how strong your barrier really is!"

As Sand Crocodile spoke, his poisonous hook was instantly coated in a red layer of Armament Haki.

Then, after gathering strength, he slashed directly at the barrier.

CLANG!

The same metallic sound rang out again.

His poisoned hook slammed viciously into the barrier—but it didn't do any damage at all!

"What?!"

Sand Crocodile's expression darkened.

"Even Armament Haki couldn't break it? Don't tell me… this thing's really unbreakable? If that's true, doesn't that make him invincible?!"

Douglas Bullet couldn't help voicing his thoughts aloud.

"Hmph, it's not that miraculous," Rikuya said loudly. "This thing might seem unbreakable, but look closely—he's still holding that same hand gesture.

That's because he has to actively use his Devil Fruit power to maintain the barrier.

In other words, if you charge at him right now and punch him, the barrier will disappear!

And even if you don't do anything, he won't be able to keep it up forever—he'll have to cancel it himself sooner or later."

Bartolomeo rejected him flatly.

Bartolomeo tensed up the moment he saw Rikuya's reaction.

And the next second, Rikuya launched his attack—right inside the cramped tavern!

With a soft grunt, Rikuya opened his mouth and unleashed a massive fire dragon aimed straight at Bartolomeo!

In such a confined space, the giant flame dragon practically filled the entire room.

Everything it touched was instantly scorched!

But even as the fire surged toward him, Bartolomeo didn't panic at all. He immediately raised both hands and formed his Commons fingers gesture once again.

In a flash, a transparent, cube-shaped barrier unfolded in front of him.

BOOOOM!

The fire dragon crashed head-on into the transparent square barrier.

But just as Rikuya expected, the fire dragon failed to cause any damage.

And from behind the barrier, Bartolomeo couldn't help but curl his lips into a confident grin.
