Chapter 226: The Fourth Hokage's Resurrection

"Devil Fruit?!"
Orochimaru looked puzzled, but his gaze remained intense.
"Yeah… It's a kind of special fruit, somewhat like the legendary Chakra Fruit. But unlike the Chakra Fruit, which has messy and complex powers, the Fruit's abilities are very specific. Each power can only be used by one person, and they're considered treasures of nature."
"They're divided into three main types: Logia, which includes elements like wind, fire, lightning, magma, ice, and light;"
"Zoan, which covers animals like humans, snakes, cats, dogs, and even ancient types like T-Rexes or saber-toothed tigers. The rarest are the Mythical Zoans, which include creatures like the Great Buddha or the Phoenix—legendary beings.
"Finally, there's the Paramecia type, which grants extraordinary powers—like controlling gravity, flying, or producing threads.
"There are way too many types for me to list them all."
Orochimaru felt a fiery excitement in his heart. If he could get his hands on these fruits and study them, it might open up an entirely new path, different from ninjutsu.
"Teacher, you need a sacrifice, right? Conveniently, there's a perfect one nearby."
Uchiha Kitaro vanished in an instant as he spoke, using the Flying Thunder God Technique—a skill Orochimaru had always coveted but could never master.
The Flying Thunder God Technique could only be used properly by its creator, the Second Hokage, and later by the Fourth Hokage and Uchiha Kitaro.
Meanwhile, a White Zetsu was eavesdropping from a distance.
"Devil Fruit… So that's the source of that guy's power? And there are so many kinds? This is huge information!"
"If such incredible powers can be gained just by eating one, the balance of the entire world could change."
The tremor-inducing power Uchiha Kitaro displayed wasn't invincible, but it was unquestionably Kage-level.
Now imagine an army of Kage-level fighters. Aside from monsters like Uchiha Madara or Uchiha Kitaro, who else could stand against them?
"This is bad, really bad. I have to inform Tobi about this immediately!"
White Zetsu failed to notice a hand silently appear behind his head.
Shwip!
By the time White Zetsu sensed something was wrong, he was already inside a room, surrounded by familiar faces: Uchiha Kitaro, Uchiha Shisui, Uchiha Itachi, Kakashi, Guy, and Orochimaru.
Crap!
He instantly realized he'd been discovered and transported here without a sound. There was only one person capable of such a feat—Uchiha Kitaro.
"Damn it! How… How did you find me?"
White Zetsu stared at Uchiha Kitaro, perplexed. He could blend perfectly into his surroundings, hiding any trace of chakra fluctuations.
Uchiha Kitaro's lips curled into a slight smirk. "I should be asking you—why would you think I wouldn't notice you?"
"…"
White Zetsu's expression darkened. Uchiha Kitaro was on a completely different level, unpredictable in every way. Nothing this guy did would surprise him anymore.
Shisui chimed in, "Kitaro, there are still eight others. Shouldn't we deal with all of them?"
Ever since eating the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, Shisui's Observation Haki had been greatly enhanced. By focusing, nothing within his surroundings could escape his detection.
Simply put, every living being emits faint electromagnetic waves, which Shisui could now sense effortlessly.
"No need. One is enough."
White Zetsu was shocked. Shisui even knew how many there were.
He'd heard about Shisui's abilities before. If not for Uchiha Kitaro overshadowing everyone with his brilliance, Shisui's reputation would've been far greater. Shisui's talent was comparable to that of the Fourth Hokage.
"Orochimaru-sensei, the sacrifice is ready. You can begin."
"Hehe, you keep surprising me more and more," Orochimaru said, placing his palm on the ground.
A surge of black seals flowed from his hand, forming a unique pattern on the floor.
"Aaaaghhh!!"
White Zetsu let out a scream of agony as his body began to change. Moments later, the figure of the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato, emerged. His eyes were pitch-black in the whites, a clear sign of the Edo Tensei resurrection.
"This… Is this the Edo Tensei?"
"Yo, Minato-sensei! Long time no see!" Kitaro greeted him cheerfully.
Minato lifted his head, staring at Uchiha Kitaro. After a moment, he recognized him. "Kitaro?! You've grown so much! What's going on here?"
"I asked Orochimaru-sensei to revive you!"
Only then did Minato notice Orochimaru nearby. "Orochimaru? And… Kakashi?!"
"It's been a long time, Minato-sensei," Kakashi said, his voice heavy with emotion.
"Minato-sensei!" Kakashi's heart swelled. Out of all the members of Minato's team, only he was still alive. That loss had left him in a long, dark depression. If not for Kitaro and Guy's support, he might never have escaped that despair.
"You and Kitaro have grown so much… So, it's been a long time since that incident?"
Kakashi nodded. "Yes, it's been seven years, Minato-sensei. What exactly happened back then?"
When the Nine-Tails attacked, Kakashi's teacher died. For years, he'd been searching for the truth but found nothing.
"Well… A masked man used space-time ninjutsu to infiltrate during Kushina's childbirth. He kidnapped her and released the Nine-Tails. I don't know who he was, but through his mask, I saw Sharingan eyes. Given the level of Sharingan control needed to command the Nine-Tails, he wasn't an ordinary Uchiha."
Hearing this, Kakashi and Guy instinctively turned to Kitaro. After all, back then, he was one of the few Uchiha capable of such feats.
"Why are you looking at me? If I wanted to destroy Konoha, why would I bother with the Nine-Tails?"
