Chapter 232: Orochimaru’s Shock
— — — — — —
Everyone looked speechless. So all those theatrics were just to show off?
But they weren't exactly surprised—this was Uchiha Kitaro after all. The guy probably did pull stunts like that just to look cool.
Especially that last move during the Chibaku Tensei move. He could've used the Flying Thunder God technique to escape but chose to get himself sucked into the massive sphere. Only to break free later using Susanoo to destroy it.
Did he even realize how worried everyone had been? And all because he thought it'd look impressive!
"By the way, what's this 'Devil Fruit' thing you mentioned earlier?"
"Oh, Devil Fruits? They're similar to the legendary Chakra Fruits but way simpler in terms of power. Each Devil Fruit has just one unique ability."
As Kitaro explained, he gave Shisui a subtle signal. Shisui nodded, knowing what to do.
Crackle!
Shisui's wrist transformed into pure lightning, sending arcs dancing in the air. With a casual flick, he aimed skyward.
In an instant, a massive lightning column crashed down from the heavens.
BOOM!
The lightning struck a distant mountain, enveloping it in a violent explosion. When the dust finally settled, the mountain was gone—replaced by a massive, gaping crater.
"That's insane!"
Kakashi and Guy stared in awe. Until now, they hadn't realized Shisui had been holding back so much during his fights with those ANBU squads.
This level of power, the sheer speed at which he summoned it—it was mind-blowing.
And they'd already witnessed his incredible speed during those battles, moving like literal lightning. Even elite ANBU operatives couldn't keep up.
Orochimaru's eyes gleamed with excitement. This kind of power far surpassed any Kekkei Genkai he'd encountered before.
It wasn't just about strength—it was freedom. No hand signs were needed; Shisui himself was the lightning. Orochimaru couldn't help but marvel.
"This is Shisui's Devil Fruit power. His fruit is part of the Logia class, often called the strongest type. Logia users can transform into natural elements. Most physical attacks can't even touch them," Kitaro explained.
To demonstrate, he threw several shuriken at Shisui. Without moving, Shisui let them pass right through his body of pure electricity.
Kakashi and Guy were stunned—they hadn't known Shisui had this ability.
"Only attacks infused with Armament Haki can harm a Logia user's real body. Even then, with Observation Haki, a skilled Logia user can predict and dodge attacks before they land."
"And with Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan? Hitting him is practically impossible for most people."
Everyone nodded in agreement. With Shisui's extraordinary Observation Haki and the Sharingan's clarity, evading attacks seemed effortless.
Orochimaru's excitement reached a fever pitch. He was itching to dissect Shisui right there and figure out what made his body tick.
"And now… it's my turn," Kitaro announced.
Orochimaru froze for a moment, then his anticipation skyrocketed. If Shisui had such incredible abilities, what kind of power would Kitaro showcase?
"My Devil Fruit isn't Logia; it's Paramecia, the strongest one—the Tremor-Tremor Fruit."
Kitaro raised his fist, channeling the fruit's power. A white, fog-like aura encased his hand. Then, with a quick motion, he punched the air beside him.
CRACK!
The very air shattered like glass, splintering into visible fractures.
A terrifying vibration spread outward. The earth trembled violently, cracks spider-webbing across the ground. Within moments, a massive canyon appeared, stretching far into the distance.
Everyone's jaws dropped. Orochimaru, Kakashi, and Guy couldn't help but swallow nervously. For the first time, there was a flicker of fear in Orochimaru's excited gaze.
If Shisui's power was dangerous, then Kitaro's was outright catastrophic.
Shisui's attacks might leave Orochimaru battered, but this? One punch from Kitaro could leave him beyond recovery—if not outright dead.
"My power is simple," Kitaro explained. "I control vibrations. Airquakes, earthquakes, even seaquakes. I can unleash shockwaves in the air, shatter the earth, and trigger tsunamis."
Orochimaru licked his lips, his excitement palpable. He wanted it all—Armament Haki, Observation Haki, Conqueror's Haki, and now these Devil Fruit powers.
But it wasn't just about possessing them. Orochimaru's scientific curiosity burned brighter than ever. He had to understand how these powers worked.
"And there's more," Kitaro added casually.
"Wait—more?" Orochimaru exclaimed, his eyes wide.
Just how many powers did his so-called "apprentice" have? Orochimaru had spent a lifetime collecting ninjutsu and Kekkei Genkai, yet Kitaro seemed to hoard abilities he'd never even dreamed of.
Whoosh!
Flames ignited around Kitaro's body, dancing without harming him.
"This is the Flame Breathing technique. Most of the Uchiha clan specializes in it since we're naturally adept at Fire Release."
Orochimaru studied the flames carefully. There was no trace of chakra in them, which meant this fire wasn't chakra-based at all.
This revelation only deepened Orochimaru's obsession. What were these powers? And how could he obtain them?
