Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Destruction...

Chapter 71: Destruction...

Daz Bonez heard her words and knew what she meant. But his expression remained perfectly calm.

"I'm an assassin, and I'm somewhat famous in the West Blue. Those underworld organizations aren't willing to pay my price to do those kinds of things..." He understood that the moral standards of the group before him were likely higher than those of ordinary pirates; they seemed unable to tolerate such acts. But he was quite frank about it. He was just in the business of killing people; he had nothing to do with those other things. His fee was not low, and those organizations were never willing to hire an assassin of his caliber.

Uta heard him and looked at Louis. Only after Louis nodded did she relax. Louis was a person born with awakened Observation Haki. Although he couldn't read minds like Redfield, his ability to detect lies was unerring.

Just then, Yelena suddenly spoke. "Are there innocent, ordinary people on the island too?"

"Yes. It's very prosperous here. Many tourists come to visit," Daz Bonez replied, guessing what she was planning.

"Is that so..." Yelena stared at the bodies in the distance, which were continuously being dragged under by sea creatures. Her usually gentle face became incomparably grim. She turned to look at Louis beside her and requested softly, "Louis, I want to make a move..."

"At the very least, all the human traffickers and organ traders must be killed..."

"I'm going too..." Uta had, at some point, taken out a small violin and was now standing beside Yelena.

"Follow your hearts. You don't need to suppress yourselves. I will cover your backs," Louis said distantly, his gaze fixed on the island in the distance.

Siam Island.

A sudden, tremendous roar echoed through the entire island. A violent tremor followed, startling awake the tourists in the town and the members of the various illegal organizations.

"What's happening?!"

"Where are we being attacked?"

"Is it pirates?"

"..."

Members of many illegal organizations, armed with weapons, poured out from all directions, surrounding their bases and vigilantly observing their surroundings. This scene made the faces of many tourists change dramatically in terror; they didn't know where all these soldiers had come from.

However, before they could even start to run, a sudden cold current descended upon the tropical town. In a distant corner of the town, a blizzard, defying the natural climate, fell from the sky. As far as the eye could see, everything was a sheet of white.

A young man holding a gun stared blankly into the distance. "Is that... the human trafficking park?"

In the snow-covered park, a humanoid beast nearly 30 feet tall, covered in pale fur with an exposed skull, dragged its long tail as it walked slowly forward.

With the appearance of the Wendigo, most of the humans in the entire park collapsed to the ground, allowing the low temperature to strip them of their body heat. Under an indescribable fear, the human traffickers' faces were all pale, and they were drenched in sweat, having lost control of their bowels. Many more figures lay in the cold ice and snow, their eyes wide open, dead from extreme terror.

Yelena lifted her hand, which had giant, sickle-like claws, and split open a house-like prison. The scarlet eyes beneath her pale skull scanned the interior. However, what appeared before her was an empty cell.

"No one here..."

Then, Yelena swung her claws, slicing off the top of a second prison. The empty cell was sprinkled with quicklime, and similarly, there was no trace of any humans.

The third, the fourth...

Yelena had sliced open every building in the park and still found no trace of any slaves.

"What's going on..."

At this moment, Yelena recalled the thousands of bodies on the surface of the sea. Daz Bonez's words echoed in her mind.

"A plague..." Yelena stood in the park, her scarlet eyes radiating an endless chill.

BOOM—

Just then, a volley of cannonballs landed on the giant beast. One by one, vicious thugs had pushed out cannons. Under the command of their leader, they were pouring shells onto the pale, antlered beast. For a moment, the light of explosions illuminated the entire park. The shockwaves and roars created ripples in the falling snow.

Amidst the smoke from the explosions, Yelena slowly turned her head. The scarlet eyes beneath her pale skull looked toward the source of the cannon fire.

THUMP... THUMP...

From within the smoke, the sound of heavy footsteps was heard. The four-horned, man-eating beast slowly approached, its massive shadow enveloping all who stood. In the sky-blotting smoke and snow, a pair of eyes like scarlet suns flickered, reflected in the eyes of everyone.

Black and red arcs of electricity flashed. An invisible shockwave burst forth, sweeping over the few remaining human traffickers.

Thud, thud...

The remaining traffickers collapsed one after another, fainting in the cold park.

The leader's eyes widened. "This... this is..."

While the man was stunned, a heavy, cold war hammer came crashing down, smashing directly onto his head.

BOOM—

A giant roar echoed through the entire town. The ground cracked, fissures stretching for a thousand meters. Under the powerful impact, the entire park collapsed in a single blow, becoming a ruin filled with smoke and dust.

At almost the same time, the continuous sound of gunfire echoed in the organ trading park. Clusters of dazzling muzzle flashes lit up, making the entire park seem to turn golden. Dozens of guards armed with various firearms were shooting at a slender figure in the distance. A dense curtain of bullets, visible to the naked eye, shot toward the rapidly moving figure.

Uta, in her Siren form, swayed the wing-fins behind her and the fishtail that her legs had become. She treated the low altitude as the deep sea, swimming rapidly, her speed so fast it was countless times greater than that of a deep-sea mermaid, leaving the bullet curtain far behind. Neither the dense barrage of bullets nor the guards' vision and reaction time could keep up with her speed.

The guards could only watch helplessly as invisible soundwaves spread out from all directions and landed among their ranks, blasting many of their comrades away.

Atop a building in the park, Louis sat cross-legged, his spear and the Seven Star Sword laid across his lap. He quietly admired Uta's extremely beautiful fighting style.

Uta's speed, which was a blur to an ordinary person, was perfectly clear in Louis's eyes. In his view, Uta was moving and flipping through the air with extreme grace, her hands holding a small violin and a bow. Even while swimming at high speed, she still maintained an excellent level of performance.

Every time the bow crossed the violin, a soundwave, one of the abilities of the Siren Fruit, would burst forth. Accompanied by a beautiful melody, it would land among the guards, causing a violent explosion. Of course, in the guards' view, this usually pleasant melody had now become their death knell.

In Louis's opinion, Uta was truly a genius to have come up with such an aesthetically pleasing fighting style. Her predecessor, the previous user of the Siren Fruit, had relied on shouting to output her soundwaves. But Uta had come up with the genius idea of using a violin.
