One Piece: The Strongest Female Pirate Crews

Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Taming Big Mom

Onboard the Radiant Eclipse.

Three days had passed since they left Cake Island, and now they were nearing the edge of Totto Land.

Charlotte Linlin, shameless as ever, sat on the deck, shouting, "I want food, I want dessert!"

She looked utterly pitiful.

Makino, the ship's cook, couldn't help but soften. "Should I just prepare a little more for her?"

Even though Charlotte Linlin's food consumption over the past three days had been alarming, Makino still felt pity for her now.

"Really?" Linlin looked at Makino with wide, hopeful eyes.

There was no trace of her former majesty as an Emperor of the Sea. She looked like nothing more than a pathetic creature, waiting to be fed.

"But the captain said not to give you any more food," Makino hesitated, clearly conflicted.

Linlin's face fell, her expression pitiful. She began wailing, her voice loud and grating, "I'm so miserable! I can't even get enough to eat! Captain is too cruel, starving his crew! Boo hoo~~~"

SMACK!

Linlin stopped her screeching mid-sentence as the sound of footsteps descending the stairs reached her ears. Her entire body stiffened.

She went quiet, shrinking in on herself as she saw Kuke approach the deck.

Her eyes held fear, pleading, and a touch of desperation.

"Your daily food is more than enough to sustain you," Kuke said with a glance at Linlin, as if she were performing a comical skit.

Almost sixty years old, and yet at times, Linlin acted worse than a child.

"But..." Linlin rubbed her large belly. She had grown accustomed to eating whatever and however much she wanted, so life aboard the Radiant Eclipse—with its stark contrast to her once emperor-like lifestyle on Cake Island—was difficult to adjust to.

"Captain, if Mama doesn't eat enough, her food cravings might relapse," Smoothie said, stepping up beside Kuke to plead on her mother's behalf.

"Cravings, you say? Perfect. I'd actually like to see if there's a way to cure that food craving disorder—we need to find the root cause," Kuke said, precisely as he had hoped for Linlin's cravings to resurface.

He couldn't afford to have a volatile powder keg aboard his ship. If it could be cured, he'd cure it. If it couldn't, he would find another way.

At the same time, this would allow Linlin to understand her new position—she was no longer an Emperor of the Sea, but just another member of the Sun and Moon Pirates. Denying her demands was part of taming her, much like training a pet—you rewarded it only after it fulfilled a task.

Linlin's power was valuable enough that Kuke was willing to put in the effort to tame her slowly.

Linlin shrunk back, her neck retracting into her shoulders.

She was afraid of Kuke.

In these past three days, she'd tried to secretly escape several times, and every time had ended disastrously.

Once, she had even managed to fly out dozens of kilometers on Zeus, certain she'd finally gotten away. And then, in her rearview, she had seen Kuke riding the Phoenix, quickly gaining on her.

That had been the end of that. Linlin had returned with her head swollen from a severe beating, without a meal, and forced to soak in seawater for a full day.

Now, she didn't even dare to harbor thoughts of escaping.

Linlin pouted, looking dejected as she sat back down on the deck, too scared to keep yelling.

Kuke ignored the increasingly pitiful look in her eyes.

Instead, he approached Belo Betty.

"What's the situation?" he asked.

The first thing Kuke did after bringing Linlin aboard was instruct Belo Betty, who had the Op-Op Fruit, to conduct a full-body examination on Linlin. He wanted to find out every secret hidden within her.

How had the Soru Soru no Mi passed from Mother Carmel to Charlotte Linlin? Was the destruction of Mother Carmel's photograph truly the result of Linlin's extreme sorrow? Even if she was heartbroken, it shouldn't have caused her body to lose its "Iron Balloon" resilience—something clearly wasn't right.

"She seems normal, but also not. I've scanned her, and there are many irregularities, but I'm not sure yet," Betty shook her head.

She still couldn't fully utilize the Op-Op Fruit's powers to the highest level. Even her internal scans weren't completely clear, especially when it came to spiritual matters—there was much she was lacking.

"Take it slow," Kuke replied, not expecting to uncover all of Linlin's secrets overnight.

After all, with himself around, if anything happened, he could handle it easily.

Also, no one had yet disclosed the Sun and Moon Pirates' abilities—resurrection, teleportation, and so on—to Linlin, as a precaution.

If things became dire, they could forcibly teleport Linlin away.

Kuke leisurely sat back on his rocking chair, glancing once at Linlin.

Not bad.

He was very pleased with her instinctive reaction whenever she saw him now.

The taming was progressing quite well.

...

Linlin was wallowing in her own misery when the Den Den Mushi in her arms began to ring.

Listlessly, she picked it up, and a violent aura instantly burst forth.

"It's not aimed at you, Captain," Linlin stammered, quickly explaining herself as she pointed at the Den Den Mushi.

"Kaido?"

Kuke eyed the Den Den Mushi in Linlin's hands—a call from Kaido.

"Yes, that bastard. I'm going to kill him," Linlin growled through gritted teeth.

She didn't dare to resent Kuke, so all her hatred was focused on Kaido.

If not for Kaido, she wouldn't be in this situation. She had bet everything on him, and he had let her down.

Now she was suffering for it.

If anyone on the seas was at the top of Linlin's "most wanted dead" list, it was Kaido.

Kuke turned his gaze away.

Linlin had been about to crush the Den Den Mushi but changed her mind and answered it instead.

"Kaido!!!"

Her voice dripped with killing intent, the word forced out through clenched teeth.

"Hehe... Linlin," Kaido's sycophantic voice came through the Den Den Mushi. "Linlin, are you still on the Radiant Eclipse? Did you manage to escape?"

Linlin was ready to hurl a torrent of abuse at Kaido, but then paused.

She rolled her eyes a couple of times.

"What's it to you?"

"Linlin, don't be mad. What's done is done. We should learn to accept it, not stay angry," Kaido said.

"And you think you have the right to tell me that?" Linlin laughed. Everyone on the Grand Line knew that Kaido was the most temperamental of all.

"What else can I say? I lost too, and if I don't calm down, life becomes impossible. It's all because Kuke is such a monster, right?" Kaido sighed, his tone filled with melancholy.

He too wished for the days of old—the days of reckless abandon. But with Kuke on the seas, those days were over.

"You dare say that to me? You knew how strong the Sun and Moon Pirates were, and yet you lied to me. I'll make you pay, Kaido," Linlin snapped.

Kaido continued his flattery, keeping his attitude humble.

"Cut the nonsense, what do you want? I have no interest in chatting with you," Linlin said.

Kaido took a deep breath, his demeanor turning more serious. "Linlin, just tell me—did you manage to escape, or are you still with the Sun and Moon Pirates?"

Linlin rolled her eyes once again.

Why did Kaido keep asking about her escape? What was he up to?

"I haven't escaped yet. I'm still waiting for the right opportunity," Linlin lied smoothly, casting a pleading glance at Kuke to show that she was just pretending.

Please don't hit me.

On the other end of the line, Kaido's eyes lit up.

As expected, there was no way that the old hag would willingly be someone else's prisoner. She would try everything to escape, and eventually, she would succeed.

"So, Linlin, is anyone around you... Never mind," Kaido caught himself.

Since Linlin had already hinted that she planned to escape, she would obviously ensure no one from the Sun and Moon Pirates overheard her.

Only an idiot would miss that detail.
