''New World, G-11 Branch''

"Kin'emon San, your silence isn't exactly reassuring!"

In a spacious office within the Marine complex built around the former Cake Island, Smoker bit down on his cigar, his brow furrowed slightly.

Across from him, Foxfire Kin'emon, clad in a lightweight kimono— black and orange on one side, plain on the other— shifted uncomfortably on the sofa. At Smoker's words, he tensed, placed his hands on his knees, and bowed slightly.

"I sincerely apologize, Smoker San! Please forgive me, but there are things I cannot disclose!"

"..."

Smoker gave him a long, unreadable look before exhaling and waving a hand dismissively.

"Fine… If it's a personal matter, I won't press. You're not criminals, after all."

"Yes! I am deeply grateful!"

Smoker rubbed his temples, and Kin'emon's formal speech gave him a headache. "That said, you can't leave just yet. I've already notified the Marine Headquarters. Someone will be coming to handle this matter."

Hearing this, Kin'emon frowned. "With all due respect, Smoker San, is this because we are from Wano? That would be unjust!"

"Indeed, while Wano is neither part of the World Government nor an Allied Kingdom, it remains a sovereign nation. Treating its people this way seems excessive."

"But just as I understand your position, you should understand mine, Kin'emon San."

Smoker's gaze sharpened. "The Beast Pirates have been holed up in Wano for years. Kaido is a major threat to the Marines!"

"Any information related to him can't be ignored. This is about protecting lives— both my men and those of the people at sea!"

Kin'emon clenched his fists, a deep respect surfacing in his eyes.

"I see now. I misspoke. Gathering intelligence for the safety of others is entirely reasonable. My silence is, indeed, unjustifiable!"

'Then just spill it already, you stubborn old man!!' Smoker mentally flipped a table in frustration.

"Alright, you can go back for now… Learn more about the world. Talking to you is exhausting."

He waved his hand weakly, signaling the end of the discussion.

"But let me warn you— not every Marine is as patient as I am. If the next person has a short temper, you might regret holding back."

Kin'emon instinctively grasped the hilt of his sword.

"Thank you for the warning. I will keep it in mind!"

After Kin'emon left, Smoker shook his head. Whatever they were hiding, they wouldn't escape Marine surveillance. He just hated unnecessary trouble, which was why he hadn't pushed harder.

Naturally, compared to interrogating a samurai, a more pressing matter was at hand.

"Is the intel reliable, Captain Koby?"

"Yes, it's confirmed!"

Not far from the desk, Koby stood at attention and saluted, his messy pink hair slightly disheveled.

Ever since the war, Koby had thrown himself into training with renewed determination.

He wanted to be like Rowen— to turn the tide of a battle single-handedly. Because that way, fewer people would die.

So, he had left the familiar G-10 Branch and Marine Headquarters, choosing to follow Smoker to the New World's G-11 for training. This sea, filled with monsters, was the best place to grow stronger.

Upon hearing Koby's confirmation, Smoker scowled.

The Beasts Pirates were as bold and reckless as ever!

Just as Scratchmen Apoo had been thrown into prison, "Mage" Basil Hawkins was already on the move.

But…

"My G-11 is not the G-5 of the past!"

A sharp grin crossed Smoker's face as he stood up.

"Since they're here, they're not leaving."

"Koby!"

"Sir!"

"Notify Tashigi. Prepare for battle!"

"Understood!"

''Deep within the G-11 fortress, residential area.''

Sitting on the threshold, a young boy with a shaved head— save for a topknot— wrapped in a pink kimono, suddenly sneezed and shivered.

"Brr… Why do I feel a sudden chill?"

He looked up and saw Kin'emon approaching from down the street, waving enthusiastically.

"Father, you're back!"

"Ah, Momonosuke!"

Seeing him, Kin'emon's face lit up, and he quickly strode over, scooping him up. To an outsider, it was a touching father-son moment.

"I bought dinner. Let's eat and talk inside."

At the voice, Kanjuro, his face adorned with strange makeup, walked over, exchanging a glance with Kin'emon before smiling.

"Oh? What did you bring today?"

"Charcoal-grilled fish tempura with rice. We've had a barbecue for days— time for a change."

"Ah, indeed."

Kin'emon's expression darkened slightly as he nodded.

"It's time for a change."

Click!

As the door shut firmly behind them, the warmth vanished. The three, who had just been all smiles, now wore serious expressions. Kin'emon turned and knelt, bowing deeply before Momonosuke.

"I deeply apologize, young lord, for making you endure such hardship!"

The boy wasn't his son.

He was their lord— Kozuki Momonosuke, the heir of the Kozuki Clan.

"It's alright, Kin'emon. You're all protecting me." Momonosuke sighed, then shifted the conversation. "What's the situation outside?"

"It's not good." Kin'emon exhaled heavily. "Just as we feared, this really is the world twenty years in the future. Kaido remains one of the New World's most powerful figures, feared by the Marines."

"And worse… He's been entrenched in Wano for years, working with that traitor Orochi, keeping Marine forces on high alert."

"So they won't let us leave, right?"

Kanjuro sighed, shaking his head bitterly.

"Exactly. Not unless we give them solid intel on what Kaido has been doing in Wano."

Kin'emon took a deep breath.

But…

They had no idea!!!

They had traveled directly from the past. Twenty years ago, they had been hurled forward through time by the power of the Toki Toki no Mi, wielded by Momonosuke's mother, Lady Toki.

For them, the betrayal of Orochi and Kaido's invasion had just happened yesterday.

They knew nothing about the two decades in between.

Kin'emon and his group didn't harbor hatred toward the Marines. Due to Wano's isolation, the Marines were simply strangers to them.

But Momonosuke's identity changed everything.

If the Marines discovered that he was the son of Kozuki Oden— the same Oden who had sailed with the Pirate King to Laugh Tale— who knew what would happen?

"There's no choice. We owe Smoker for saving us, for giving us food and shelter. But we can't stay."

Kanjuro lifted his head, his expression firm.

"For the sake of our mission, we must reach Zou and find our allies!"

Kin'emon and Momonosuke nodded, their fists clenching.
