One piece: Without a system, I have to survive!

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Jungle’s Hidden Dangers

I stepped cautiously into the jungle.

The moment I passed the treeline, the temperature seemed to rise. The humid air stuck to my skin, and the smell of damp earth filled my nostrils.

I moved carefully, stepping over thick roots and avoiding bushes that looked suspicious. I had no idea what kind of creatures lived here.

Every sound made me tense. The rustling of leaves, the distant calls of unseen animals, even the buzzing of insects—it all made me aware of how vulnerable I was.

I had no weapons. No tools. Just my bare hands.

I needed to find something useful.

As I pushed deeper into the jungle, I kept my eyes open for anything that could help me survive.

Then, I spotted it.

A fallen tree branch, thick and sturdy.

I picked it up and gave it a few test swings. Not much, but better than nothing.

I continued forward, searching for food or fresh water.

Suddenly—

A low growl echoed through the jungle.

I froze. My grip on the branch tightened.

From the bushes ahead, a pair of glowing yellow eyes stared at me.

A predator.

The creature slowly stepped out of the shadows, revealing itself.

It looked like a wolf… but much bigger. Its fur was black as night, and its fangs were bared, saliva dripping from its mouth.

My heart pounded.

I had never fought an animal before. But I had no choice.

The beast lunged at me—

I barely dodged, rolling to the side as its claws swiped past me.

I scrambled to my feet and swung the branch with all my strength.

CRACK!

The branch connected with the wolf's side, but it barely flinched.

Its eyes locked onto me again, more aggressive than before.

Damn it. This thing won't go down easily.

The wolf lunged again, faster this time.

I braced myself, ready for the worst—

Then—

A blur of motion.

Something jumped from the trees and slammed into the wolf.

The beast yelped in surprise, rolling across the ground.

I stared in shock.

A second wolf had appeared—but this one was different.

It was smaller, leaner, with the same black fur but intelligent eyes.

It growled at the larger wolf, standing between me and my attacker.

The bigger wolf snarled, hesitated for a moment—then turned and disappeared into the jungle.

I exhaled heavily, my entire body shaking.

The smaller wolf turned its head toward me.

Our eyes met.

Why… did it help me?

It didn't look aggressive, but it also didn't seem entirely friendly.

Slowly, I lowered the branch, keeping my guard up.

"…Are you going to attack me too?" I muttered.

The wolf just stared at me for a moment—then, without warning, it turned around and started walking away.

I watched it disappear into the jungle.

I was still alive… but one thing was clear.

This jungle was full of dangers.

And if I wanted to survive—I had to get stronger.
