Chapter 75: Chapter 76: Mary Geoise.
Sure enough, it was a heavily fortified battleground—the defenses were real, and walls had been built.
On the quiet, sacred land of Mary Geoise, a brilliant nine-tailed fox lightly leapt onto the clearing near the cliff's edge.
Bounding up the rocky wall with agile limbs and swaying tails, the fox swiftly scaled the height, reaching the top within an hour.
Once at the summit, its long tails spread across the ground, and Ignyr, Shiryu, and Ace gently landed beside it. With a shimmer, the fox transformed instantly into her human form.
What surprised Ignyr was that, instead of the usual deep forest, what lay ahead was a series of walls over ten meters high surrounding the Holy Land.
"Back off, and leave this to me."
A voice snapped the group to attention. They quickly realized that Mary Geoise hadn't always had these massive walls—this was a recent development, like a twisted version of the Great Wall protecting the Celestial Dragons.
Ace extended the index fingers of both hands, forming a crosshair aligned with his eyes, then aimed at the base of the wall.
Locking onto his target, he unleashed a sharp "boom" as a slender stream of fire surged forward—faster than most other abilities.
Crossfire—a precise, sniper-like attack that was one of Ace's most destructive moves. It wasn't ideal for quick skirmishes, but perfect for stationary targets like this.
However, despite the intense flames, the wall remained untouched. The fire dispersed before even making contact, breaking apart mid-air.
"Save your strength, Ace."
After minutes of fruitless burning, Ignyr suddenly realized something. Seeing Ace soaked in sweat, he stepped forward, placing his hand against the wall.
Instantly, he felt his soul energy drain at an alarming rate—a wave of powerlessness swept through his body like a crashing tide.
Jerking his hand back, Ignyr fell into a crouch, panting. If not for his exceptional physique, he might've collapsed on the spot.
"This wall… it's made of Seastone."
The moment the words left his lips, everyone froze. Their eyes swept across the endless high walls—shocked at the World Government's level of preparation.
Seastone—an extremely rare and costly material monopolized by the Government. Mining and refining it was difficult, and mixing it into construction was outrageously expensive.
Of the four, three were Devil Fruit users. Naturally, all eyes turned to Shiryu, who remained calm, exhaling a thick puff of smoke.
"It's nothing."
Though he tried to downplay it, Shiryu—former Chief Warden of Impel Down—had dealt with Seastone countless times. He knew it well: it could nullify Devil Fruit powers and was as hard as diamond.
But this was his first time on a mission under Ignyr, a man known for his ruthlessness. Hiliu knew better than to treat this lightly.
"Blood Waterfall!"
Lowering into a deep lunge, he angled his body 45 degrees. His left hand gripped the scabbard's tip, while the right clutched the hilt.
With a sharp inhale and a cloud of smoke, he drew his demon blade in a single, fluid motion—unleashing a 180-degree crimson arc of sword aura.
The blood-red slash sliced upward from the ground, a glowing trail widening until it resembled a gushing, vertical river of blood.
"Let's go."
A triangular hole—just large enough for one person—appeared in the wall, surrounded by blood mist. The slash had cut clean through, demonstrating the power of a rival to an admiral.
Sheathing his blade, Shiryu let the smoke rise again from his lips. The others, without hesitation, followed Ignyr through the opening and into the dense forest beyond.
"Enemy detected—engage!"
They had only taken a few steps when an infrared beam scanned across their bodies with a sharp buzz.
Pacifistas, hidden in the forest, activated patrol mode. These cybernetic weapons—modeled after Bartholomew Kuma—used scanning tech to detect intruders.
One of the robotic "Kumas" raised its palm and fired a laser—a replica of Admiral Kizaru's technique, installed by Vegapunk.
"Musket!"
Ace swiftly dodged the beam, shooting back a fire round with his finger. The fireball struck the ground, leaving a scorched mark—but the Pacifista remained undamaged.
With a burst of speed, Ace leapt into the air, charging a Fire Fist overhead. A massive torrent of flames blasted into the robot, engulfing it in searing fire.
The machine burned, flames spreading through the forest, trees catching and lighting the area in a reddish glow.
"Ace, use your strongest flames—draw their attention!"
Ever since the revenge team approached the Red Line, they'd been blocked at every step—especially upon reaching Mary Geoise.
Ignyr, never one to waste time, took in the blazing surroundings and quickly hatched a plan.
Set as much of the forest ablaze as possible—force the enemy's attention away from their real target: the Celestial Dragon residential area.
"Got it."
Ace dashed forward, summoning the full power of his Mera Mera no Mi. Coils of fire danced like serpents around him, growing larger and hotter by the second.
Raising his arms, flames spiraled into his palms—forming a blazing fireball the size of a small sun.
"Great Flame Commandment: Flame Emperor!"
With a roar, he hurled it into the forest. Trees ignited before it even landed. When it hit, the explosion lit up the land for miles in a blast of fire and heat.
As flames engulfed the sky, Ignyr extended his Observation Haki, sensing waves of Marines converging on the explosion point.
Turning toward the excited Devon, whose eyes glowed in the firelight, he spoke calmly.
"Devon… it's your turn."
With Marines scrambling toward the fire, the four "soldiers" silently slipped away in the opposite direction.
Soon, they arrived at their destination: the residential area of the Celestial Dragons.
Outside one of the extravagant manors, the four stood silently.
Then, with a flicker, the illusion cast by the nine-tailed fox faded—their disguises vanishing as the Avengers revealed their true forms.
Ignyr stepped forward, staring at the towering manor. The time had come.
He pushed open the door to the Draco patriarch's chamber.
