Chapter 77: Chapter 78: Cp0.
"No!!!"
A sharp crack tore through the air inside the tower, forming a jagged rift several meters long.
Cold wind howled through the warm bedroom, but even that couldn't drown out the piercing screams of Lucci and the others.
Three corpses dangled mid-air, held up by writhing black tendrils. Blood trickled down the obsidian strands, dripping onto the floor and pooling into a steaming puddle.
With a single devastating strike, the black tentacles—and the dark water that had bound everyone—vanished into nothingness.
In a matter of seconds, CP0's elite squad had lost three of their seven members, leaving behind only four, and a scene of horrifying carnage.
Jabra, the first to attack recklessly, had paid with his life—frozen mid-sneer, never even managing to shift into his Zoan form before being torn apart by divine retribution.
His corpse was gruesome. Half of his body was obliterated—missing his left arm, leg, and foot, with shattered ribs and pelvis, internal organs exposed and spilling out.
His once neatly braided hair was disheveled, drenched in blood. His martial arts uniform was shredded by the concussive blast, revealing torn flesh and ruptured muscle.
It was a death eerily similar to Sabo's—blasted apart by a cannonball. His rarely worn sunglasses lay broken at his side, the frame twisted and lens shattered.
At the center of the devastation lay the corpse of "Owl" Fukuro, torn apart by the shockwave's force.
His round frame was blasted open—legs vaporized, his upper body shredded. His ribcage peeled outward like petals, flinging internal organs across the room.
His thick arm had crumbled like wet paper, muscles snapped like frayed cords. Though his forearm was mostly intact, deep cracks spread through the bone.
Only the top half of his large head remained. His mouth hung open in an unnatural expression, and his broken teeth were scattered across the ground.
Kalifa, though hit with the least impact, suffered the worst due to her fragile body—dying in the most gruesome way.
Half of her golden hair was singed short, while the other half was soaked in blood. The right side of her scalp was torn open, exposing pale brain matter beneath a shattered skull.
Her glasses were obliterated, shards of glass embedded in her cheeks and eyes, skin peeled back to reveal raw muscle.
Her right arm and collarbone were pulverized into a mess of flesh and bone, while her chest was torn open, spilling her organs outward.
Pieces of intestines and clothing were flung everywhere, blending into a grotesque paste. One of her legs was broken backward, the calf completely missing.
As the black water and tendrils dissipated into shadows, the four surviving CP0 agents snapped, their eyes burning with rage and bloodlust.
Freed from the darkness, they lost control, driven mad by their comrades' brutal deaths.
"Begin the slaughter!"
Before CP0 could act, the Avengers squad, led by Ignyr, charged in, eager to take down their foes.
Ignyr was the first to clash with Rob Lucci, engaging the CP0 captain in a fierce melee—both masters of the Rokushiki technique.
"Fire Fist" Ace ignited in flames, targeting Bruno—the man with the most troublesome escape ability—intent on keeping him grounded.
"Moonlight Hunter" Devon lunged with her spear toward Kumadori, the wild-haired life force user.
Shiryu of the Rain drew both swords and dashed toward Kaku, the giraffe-shaped swordsman, who combined Tempest Kick with his four-sword style.
While the battles unfolded, the Avengers followed Ignyr's strategy, with their peripheral vision locked on the overwhelmed Celestial Dragon patriarch.
Elsewhere, Admiral Kuzan—a reluctant guardian of the Celestial Dragons—was stirred by the forest's chaos.
He had no desire to protect the World Nobles, but under direct orders from the Five Elders, he was stationed at Mariejois.
As expected, the Avengers squad stormed into the Holy Land, infiltrating even the manor of the Celestial Dragons themselves.
Kuzan had no choice. He mobilized the troops and began searching for the intruders, knowing disaster was inevitable…

"Tempest Kick: Mad Fangs!"
From midair, Kaku launched a rapid barrage of kicks, sending sharp blue blades of air cascading toward Shiryu like a net of razors.
Shiryu's eyes narrowed. Calmly removing the cigar from his mouth, he deflected each blade with a few precise taps of his sheathed blade.
Clang. Clang. Clang.
Every strike parried. The sword never even left its scabbard.
The moment Kaku landed, Shiryu closed the distance in a blur and slammed the scabbard into his opponent.
"Old man's gotta avenge them all."
Their clash intensified. Kaku quickly realized Shiryu wasn't even using his full strength. He leapt back, activating his Devil Fruit ability.
His body grew taller, his neck elongating grotesquely as he transformed into his hybrid Giraffe Zoan form.
"Finger Gun: Giraffe Cannon!"
Compressing his neck, he coiled it back tightly, storing tension like a spring. Then—BOOM!—he launched it forward with terrifying force.
Shiryu raised his arm and blocked with his scabbard. The impact sent a shockwave down his arm, making his tiger's mouth tremble. His demon blade vibrated wildly inside its sheath.
He smirked.
"You wanna come out and play?"
Infuriated by the lack of effect, Kaku spun with greater speed, using the length of his neck to enhance his centrifugal force.
"Tempest Kick: Spiral Decimation!"
With a dizzying twist, he unleashed a massive arc of compressed air, far larger than any before.
Shiryu sighed and used his thumb to push his blade slightly from the sheath.
He sprinted toward the oncoming blast, stepped onto it, using the momentum to launch himself skyward. Then, mid-air—he drew his sword.
"Crimson Execution."
Like thunder crashing down, the blade sliced clean through Kaku's elongated neck, the red sword aura trailing behind like a comet.
Kaku's neck split into several lobes, crumpling like peeled fruit before collapsing.
As his body dropped, the smoke from Shiryu's cigar traced a white arc through the air. Before the sword even touched the ground, he had already returned it to its sheath.
"Snow falls."
