Only I Awaken The Forbidden SSS-Rank Dragons

Chapter 15: Tier 9 Abomination... The World Isn't safe...

Meanwhile, in another part of the city...

Although most of the city lay in ruins, a few powerful summoners had managed to survive the onslaught of abominations.

In fact, they were still actively engaged in battles against the monstrous invaders.

An organization had already begun to take form in response to the crisis.

They called themselves the Hunters.

By relying on their summoned beasts, they could fight off abominations and earn merit-based rewards.

Inside a dimly lit room, three summoners were gathered, their expressions tense.

One of them approached a shattered window and looked outside. His sharp gaze narrowed as he noticed something strange.

"It seems those tier-two creatures are all moving in the same direction. Could it be another survivor?"

The young man's voice was calm, but laced with curiosity. Just as he finished speaking, a loud crash echoed from the distance. Three abominations immediately shifted their path toward the source of the noise.

A second summoner, a woman with a serious gaze, spoke up.

"It sounds like a battle is raging nearby. But whoever is fighting must be strong. The abominations are struggling against them and are now calling for reinforcements."

From a few simple observations, they had already pieced together the situation.

"In that case, Amira, shouldn't we lend our support to one of our own?" the young man asked with a faint smile tugging at his lips.

The third member of the group, a woman sitting silently with her eyes glued to her phone, finally looked up.

"Take a look at this," she said, holding out the screen. "Something similar to the incident here is happening in almost every major city."

Amira's eyes widened as she grabbed the phone and scrolled through the flood of reports.

"It seems this isn't isolated," the woman continued. "Our world is being overrun."

"What?" Amira frowned deeply and scanned the information on the screen.

After a few tense moments, she exhaled slowly and nodded. "She's right. These creatures, whatever they are, are swarming across the globe."

"It's even said that the wielder of the hand is a tier-nine abomination that emerged from a portal and descended upon the Eagle Continent."

"What? That really happened?" The young man and Amira stared in disbelief.

"That cannot be," Amira muttered. "The Eagle Continent is one of the most fortified regions in the Origin World. They must have a way to deal with it."

"Of course they do," the woman with the phone replied with a solemn nod. "But it is only a matter of time before even their defenses fall. If more creatures of that rank descend, how do we cope with such devastation?"

The room fell silent as the weight of her words sank in.

Amira remained stunned. The young man crossed his arms, deep in thought, then looked up.

"These matters are too far beyond us for now. Kathryn, follow those abominations and find out where they are heading. As an Origin Adept, handling a few of them should not pose a problem."

His voice turned serious as he added, "However, if anything goes wrong, immediately send us a signal through your summon. We will come as fast as we can."

Kathryn nodded firmly and released her Origin energy into her summoning space. A circle of light appeared beside her, and from it emerged a creature resembling a large, snow-white owl. Its deep golden eyes glowed with intelligence, and soft feathers ruffled with each breath.

Climbing onto its back, Kathryn gave the owl a gentle pat. It let out a soft hoot and took off toward the sky, soaring in the direction she pointed.

Amira and the young man watched until she disappeared into the distance.

Meanwhile, Aleron's final thought as the massive palm descended was the inevitability of his death.

A gust of wind slammed against him, and then a searing wave of heat brushed past his body.

A thunderous explosion shook the ground as the enormous palm struck the vehicle behind him, ripping it apart in a blaze of fire and twisted metal.

Fragments of steel, glass, and debris rained down around him.

Miraculously, Aleron had just barely dodged out of the impact zone.

He turned in shock, wondering what had saved him.

His eyes widened.

'Ashkar! You… you completed your breakthrough!'

Aleron could hardly contain the excitement surging through him.

The dragon had grown enormously. Its size now reached his waist.

Its once-light scales had darkened into a deep, gleaming onyx, and its wings had become vast and imposing, giving it an overwhelming, majestic aura.

Ashkar looked at Aleron with intense affection in its glowing eyes.

Even while undergoing his breakthrough, Ashkar had remained aware of what was happening in the outside world.

He had seen Aleron put his life on the line to protect him without hesitation.

Rage flooded Ashkar's chest as he turned his gaze to the abomination that had dared threaten his partner.

The pressure he released was ancient and suffocating.

The abomination recoiled, trembling under the overwhelming aura.

A roar tore through the air, so powerful that it shook the surroundings.

Flames burst from Ashkar's throat like a torrent of molten fury, the fire wave as thick as a man's torso.

The abomination's hollow eyes widened with terror just before the fire engulfed it.

A horrifying scream erupted from its cracked maw as its flesh disintegrated under the searing blaze.

Within seconds, it was reduced to ash, along with several others caught in the blast radius.

Aleron smirked at the sight, then quickly offered advice.

'Son, you just completed your breakthrough. Aren't you hungry? There's plenty of food around. Go, eat to your heart's content.'

'Yes, Dad!' Ashkar responded eagerly.

Stretching his wings wide, the dragon vanished from Aleron's view in a blur of speed.

Aleron gasped softly.

'I can barely keep up with him now.'

Ashkar reappeared in front of a group of abominations.

With a single motion, he bit down on one, devouring it whole. The creatures had no time to resist.

The dragon's eyes sparkled with joy as he tasted the familiar flesh. With a satisfied rumble, he turned toward the others.

He flapped his wings once and vanished, appearing again amid another wave of Tier-one abominations.

With merciless efficiency, he struck them down and feasted upon their remains.

Appearing and reappearing like a phantom in the battlefield, Ashkar tore through the gathered abominations in moments.

Aleron stood stunned by the display.

'His strength has increased beyond belief.'

At that moment, a familiar sound echoed in Aleron's mind.

The system came to life once again.

[Congratulations, Host. Your strength has increased drastically.]

[The Infernal Eyes have leveled up!]
