Orochimaru’s Magic Lamp

Chapter 215: Chapter 215: order

Although the natural energy in the ninja world is more abundant than on most ordinary planets, it still lacks the environmental conditions necessary for the birth of the Ōtsutsuki clan.

They are, after all, interstellar nomads.

The arrival of someone like Kaguya Ōtsutsuki can nearly drain an entire planet's natural energy, turning tens of millions of hectares of fertile land into desert. That alone speaks volumes about how demanding their resource needs are.

Within the ninja world, the strength of the Ōtsutsuki bloodline's descendants has been gradually declining.

Of course, this excludes outliers like Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha.

To the Djinn, the chakra and natural energy in the ninja world exist in a kind of dynamic balance. While there may be minor increases—due to solar radiation or the rising number of chakra users—these shifts are almost negligible on any short-term scale, only becoming noticeable over millennia.

And it's important to remember that the "ninja world" also includes the Pure Land.

This spiritual realm, created by the Sage of the Six Paths, functions more like a one-way inlet than a balanced exchange. It's a dead end for chakra, further limiting growth potential.

Senju and Uchiha don't possess the same chakra-processing capabilities as beings like Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki, who can consume chakra pills to restore power. They can only adapt to the slow decline in energy density.

But the situation was quite different for White Zetsu.

Originally created by Kaguya and stored within the Ten-Tails, they were weapons of war. After Kaguya was sealed and her chakra drained, the Ten-Tails devolved into the Gedo Statue—a husk of its former self.

What was once fertile soil became a barren desert. Most of the White Zetsu perished, but a small number survived, adapting to their new environment.

Though altered, they still bear traits of the Ōtsutsuki bloodline—true "plant people" born from the Divine Tree. However, unlike Kaguya or Momoshiki, they can't casually wipe out entire nations. Their power levels barely reach the ranks of average or lower-tier ninja.

Orochimaru once saw them as inferior, heavily weakened versions of Hashirama. But now, he's beginning to reconsider.

After thousands of years, the White Zetsu lineage has stabilized. They could be considered a weaker but genetically stable offshoot of the Ōtsutsuki.

And as the Djinn suggested, perhaps it's perfectly normal that fusing them with a human doesn't yield overwhelming power.

But that doesn't mean White Zetsu has no value.

Orochimaru licked his lips, then pulled out a scroll and unfurled a document. The Djinn peeked over his shoulder.

"Gene fusion?"

He'd been with Orochimaru long enough to understand some of the theory. There are three known types of fusion:

1. Limb fusion – like Danzo's right arm, crude and unstable, prone to violent rejection.

2. Cell fusion – Orochimaru's current method, similar to plant grafting. Once successful, it's stable and long-lasting.

3. Gene fusion – the deepest, most thorough integration. The Djinn wasn't sure how it worked, but the name said enough.

"Exactly," Orochimaru said, eyes gleaming faintly.

"Perfectly fusing Hashirama's cells is nearly impossible—the process hits too many roadblocks. But if we first fuse the more compatible genes of White Zetsu, things might become much easier."

White Zetsu and humans differ in how they handle the corrosive nature of Hashirama's cells.

"Why not just stick with cell fusion?" the Djinn asked. "It worked on the Uchiha—should work for you too."

"I want the best," Orochimaru replied, clenching his fist.

Though in truth, it's because of the White Zetsu clone's unnatural stability that gene fusion is even possible.

For now, he would proceed with further cell fusion surgeries on the Uchiha to collect more data. As for gene fusion, it would need to be tested on others—he himself lacked Ōtsutsuki blood and wasn't compatible.

---

Boom!

A puff of white smoke erupted as a one-eyed viper slithered into the room and respectfully delivered a sealed letter.

Orochimaru glanced at it, then smiled coldly. "Interesting…"

---

Konoha – Hokage's Office

Orochimaru took his seat at the large table. Every major figure in the village was present.

This meeting was far more significant than the last—virtually every high-ranking official and clan leader had been summoned. Even Danzo, who had recently withdrawn from public life, was seated silently, his expression blank and ominous, like a statue.

Orochimaru noticed him and narrowed his eyes slightly.

He's stronger than before… Has his research on Hashirama's cells made progress?

"Silence," said Hiruzen, raising a hand to calm the murmurs.

"Yesterday, Kusanagi Village attacked the Land of Iron. The samurai were overwhelmed. The village has been destroyed. Only a few warriors escaped."

The room went quiet for a moment—then erupted in chaos.

The Land of Iron had always remained neutral, not through negotiation, but through strength. Its freezing lands might not be strategically valuable, but the samurai were no pushovers.

For Kusa to destroy it so swiftly? Unthinkable.

Eyes drifted to Orochimaru. Many suspected the mysterious "Box of Bliss" he'd mentioned in a previous meeting was somehow involved.

Clearly, Kusa wasn't merely experimenting—they were in control of something dangerous.

Still, Kusa would never dare provoke Konoha directly. Not yet.

Nara Shikaku, understanding the implications, initially chose to stay quiet and observe. But after some pressure from the Hokage's advisors, he finally spoke up:

"The Iron Country's leadership has collapsed. Its samurai have been eliminated. This is a strategic opportunity—now is the ideal time to absorb the territory into the Land of Fire."

Unlike the Five Great Ninja Villages, smaller nations have tightly intertwined military and political structures. The fall of the samurai meant the fall of Iron's government.

Konoha wouldn't be violating any treaties if it moved now. In fact, it would be seen as restoring order.

It was ironic: Kusa, being weak, had the freedom to act without consequences. But Konoha, being strong, was bound by responsibility.

As the foremost symbol of order in the ninja world, if Konoha started breaking the rules… the entire world would follow suit.

Which is why, now more than ever, they needed a righteous justification for whatever came next.
