Otaku Witch

Chapter 215: 191. Professional counterparts

A few minutes later, the group left the talent market's display area, but the atmosphere, compared to when they had arrived, felt somewhat awkward now.

Dorothy had turned entirely ashen, the glint in her eyes lost, as she fell into a state of retreat within herself.

Indeed, if it were possible, she'd want nothing more than to buy a spaceship ticket overnight and flee the Witch World, seeking a secluded life at the ends of the earth.

Oh my gosh, I'll never sign such a tricky contract on a whim again. It's over now, and how will I ever show my face to others in the future?

The recluse Homebody Witch in her embarrassed self-imposed isolation no longer dared to lift her head and look at her companions, knowing her image was thoroughly ruined.

Is this what social death feels like?

Meanwhile, Senior Mia, the other person involved in this awkward incident, seemed rather composed, though it was just a facade; in reality, the Golden Princess's heart was blooming with joy.

Yes! So it wasn't unrequited love after all but mutual.

Although the Little Fairy mentioned afterward that she was just craving her body, Mia didn't mind, for her body was a part of her. Liking her body means liking her, right?

The three most powerful groups in the Witch World actually had their unique pairing views, heavily tying in with their power systems.

For instance, Dragon Witches largely followed the Combat Magic path, where the focus lay primarily on developing physical strength.

Thus, in choosing partners, they prioritized physical compatibility with their mate.

In contrast, Angel Witches were most often on a pure mage path, drawing their magic's strength from a believing heart.

As such, Angel Witches' affections were heart-driven; they valued the connection between hearts with their partners.

As for Demon Witches...

Demon Witches wielded the Power of the Soul, which serves as a bridge between body and heart.

Therefore, Demon Witches had a more realistic, or perhaps greedier, view in mate selection; they wanted both body and heart.

So, as a pure Dragon Witch, Mia didn't find the Little Fairy's craving for her body to be an embarrassing issue – on the contrary, it was something to celebrate.

The closer Dragon Witch couples were to coveting each other's bodies, the more stable their relationship tended to be. If they stopped desiring each other physically, there'd be a real problem – a breakup wouldn't be far off.

Hence, since the Little Fairy coveted her body, Senior Mia believed she was already halfway to success on her journey of pursuit.

It was just unfortunate that the Little Fairy was not a pure-blooded Dragon Witch but a half-witch. Her human traits, that dilly-dallying nature, had tainted her. Otherwise, if two pure-blooded Dragon Witches fancied each other's physique, they would have been straightforward about it, and matters would have been settled, naturally allowing them to be together.

But the Little Fairy's human side made her somewhat inhibited, even feeling shame over it. Mia failed to understand the embarrassment over this primitive instinct, and she never concealed her liking for the Little Fairy, as Dragon Witches believed love should be shouted out loud.

However, out of respect for her beloved, Mia didn't mind waiting; it was just a matter of being too familiar to take action. If you're hesitant, then it's absolutely fine for me to make a move. It's not a big deal.

With this in mind, the Golden Princess felt revitalized and radiant; she sensed her springtime wasn't far off.

But while some rejoiced, others were troubled, like Alice who was standing beside them, downcast.

Whimper, so Sister is attracted to this type of figure?

The little witch looked at Senior Mia's gracefully tall figure ahead with envy and resentment, then glanced at her own unchanged, barren figure over the years and almost burst into tears.

However, this didn't mean the little witch had given up hope. She felt she could still salvage things. After all, if she couldn't count on her maternal legacy from Annie, she still had her father's heritage, didn't she?

Alice thought back to her tall and robust werewolf father and suddenly saw a glimmer of hope in her life.

Alright, the Vampire Clan's legacy can wait; it's time to delve into the werewolf heritage.

The little witch fiercely resolved.

Anyway, wings getting tangled up, like what happened to my elder sisters, is absolutely out of the question. I don't want that!

And Audrey, still erasing her presence due to social anxiety, widened her fox eyes and blinked at her senior in utter shock. The innocent Little Fox was overwhelmed.

Senior, I had no idea you were such a person.

She first thought about how her senior was supposed to be the president's girlfriend, yet she now lusted after Senior Mia's body. And then there was her own sister who secretly coveted the senior's Martial Soul...

Little Fox hugged her nine tails, trying to untangle this intricate web of relationships with them, only to end up with her tails in knots.

Wow, is this the adult world? It's so complicated, so scary.

Audrey felt baffled but was significantly shaken; the real world was too frightening for her, apparently far safer within the Magic Network.
