Part Time Teacher in Konoha

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Posture

After physical training ended, the students collapsed any which way on the field, not caring how they looked.

Kitazawa watched them and recalled the college PE test from his previous life.

Running a mere thousand meters back then felt as if he had been smashed by one of Tsunade's monster strength punches—he had nearly died on the spot.

Yet these students, only six or seven years old, ran a kilometer as though it were child's play.

All he could say was that chakra was truly miraculous.

[Current Mission: Take first place in physical training.]

[Mission Reward: Leaf Strong Whirlwind.]

[Host has completed the mission. Reward issued.]

After digesting the information in his mind, Kitazawa nodded.

Might Guy had created the Leaf Whirlwind series of taijutsu techniques.

The Leaf Strong Whirlwind was the advanced form of the Leaf Great Whirlwind.

Kitazawa guessed that once he finished this chain of missions, he might obtain the legendary Eight Gates.

Although the Eight Gates place a severe burden on the body, their power is beyond question.

Besides, in a true life‑or‑death moment, who still worries about side effects?

"Now I'll announce the rankings."

After letting them rest for a moment, Kitazawa said, "First place: Uchiha Sasuke."

"Sasuke‑kun!"

Haruno Sakura and the other girls couldn't help cheering for him.

Uchiha Sasuke, however, felt no joy at all.

First place in the fitness test plus a snack pack should have meant double the happiness—

So why did he feel like this?

Could an ordinary chūnin really run that fast?

Sasuke sighed.

All the excitement was theirs; he had nothing.

"Second place, Inuzuka Kiba; third place, Aburame Shino… ninth place, Uzumaki Naruto…"

Kitazawa stopped after reading the tenth name.

The top ten were basically dominated by students from ninja clans, except Nara Shikamaru and Akimichi Chōji, because they only ran half the distance.

"Darn it!"

Uzumaki Naruto clutched his head, feeling indignant.

He wanted to become the fastest man in the shinobi world, yet he had only come in ninth.

Kitazawa glanced at him.

Naruto's stamina wasn't bad, but his technique was poor—he was simply running blindly.

[Your lifelong rival Uzumaki Naruto placed far too low in the fitness test. It's truly a disgrace to you.]

[Current Mission: Help Uzumaki Naruto take second place in the physical training.]

[Mission Reward: Shadow Clone Jutsu.]

[Accept?]

Kitazawa stared at the sudden mission prompt, stunned for a second before snapping out of it.

This was a great reward.

The Shadow Clone Jutsu can create physical duplicates.

Shadow clones have countless uses: not only combat, but also training and espionage,

because when a shadow clone dispels, its memories and experiences return to the original body.

The upgraded version is the Multi‑Shadow‑Clone Jutsu.

In the original series, this was essentially Naruto's cheat.

Because he had so much chakra, he could split into hundreds or thousands of clones—like having a permanent double‑XP card.

But Kitazawa couldn't do that.

His chakra didn't yet reach even one "card," not even one‑fifth of a card.

Still, while Multi‑Shadow‑Clone was out of the question, a single Shadow Clone would be no problem.

Why did the mission require Naruto to get only second place?

Kitazawa rubbed his chin, thought a moment, and understood: the system presumably assumed he himself would be first.

So calling for Naruto to be second meant Kitazawa still had to be number one.

"Once everyone has rested, we'll continue with moving‑target kunai throwing."

Kitazawa paused. "Anyone who has already mastered it may train freely."

Upon hearing this, Uchiha Sasuke stood up at once and, without a word, headed for the training ground with that tree.

Having lost in the fitness test, he needed to finish the tree‑climbing exercise quickly.

Hyūga Hinata and Yamanaka Ino exchanged a look and followed him.

"Naruto, come with me," Kitazawa called.

"Kitazawa‑sensei, what is it?" Naruto caught up, curious.

"I watched your performance in the fitness test—you shouldn't have been only ninth," Kitazawa said, giving him a look.

"Really?" Naruto's face lit up. "I thought so too!"

Kitazawa laughed in spite of himself.

In terms of stubborn refusal to lose, Naruto was just like Sasuke.

No wonder they were practically half‑brothers.

"In my view, you could easily be in the top three." Kitazawa changed tack. "But do you know why you were only ninth?"

Naruto shook his head.

"Because you were just brute‑forcing it," Kitazawa explained. "You have no idea what proper running is."

"Sensei, can you teach me?" Naruto wasn't discouraged at all; instead he asked excitedly.

"Of course," Kitazawa said with a smile. "That's why I called you over."

"Thank you, Sensei!" Naruto laughed. "Next time I'll definitely be first in the fitness test!"

"Hard to say." Kitazawa shook his head. "Sasuke isn't worse than you. But you have an advantage—your stamina is strong."

The Uzumaki clan is naturally hardy and brimming with chakra.

Plus Naruto is the Nine‑Tails' jinchūriki; the beast's power lets him heal and recover stamina rapidly.

Even though he doesn't know the Nine‑Tails yet, the leaked chakra is already enough to help.

The two of them reached a secluded training field at the academy—the very place where Sasuke, Hinata, and Ino were tree‑climbing.

"Sasuke!"

Naruto spotted Sasuke up the tree and yelled a greeting.

Thud!

Startled, Sasuke slipped and fell.

Why are you shouting so loud?

He got up, forced a smile, and went right back to climbing.

"What are they doing?" Naruto scratched his head.

"Chakra‑control training," Kitazawa replied after a pause. "You're not ready for that yet. First, I'll teach you running technique."

"Okay!" Naruto perked up and focused.

"The key to running is good posture and stride…" Kitazawa summed up. "You need rhythm."

"So that's it!" Naruto nodded vigorously. "I understand!"

"Whether you understand, we'll find out by testing." Kitazawa had low expectations of Naruto's theory skills.

In the original story, besides ninjutsu, Naruto's academics were a complete mess—hence dead‑last in class.

"All right, start running laps here. I'll point out any problems."

Kitazawa patted his shoulder.

"Got it!" Naruto began running at once.

Kitazawa's mouth twitched.

What a monster.

They had just finished fitness training; after only a few minutes' rest he was bursting with energy again.

Kitazawa felt a twinge of envy.

Luckily, he now had the system.

With its help, catching up to Naruto in physique and chakra wouldn't be a problem.

Kitazawa glanced again at Sasuke, Ino, and Hinata climbing the tree.

At last he really looked like a teacher.

Time passed, and Saturday arrived.

Kitazawa raised his hand and knocked on the door.

It opened to reveal a beautiful face.

"So early?" Yūhi Kurenai yawned and asked.

Kitazawa's eyes brightened.

She was wearing a kimono‑style nightgown—a yukata.

The snug fabric outlined her curvy figure, especially her ample chest.

Though nowhere near Tsunade's proportions, it was still quite impressive.
