Chapter 34: Chapter 34
**Chapter 34: I'd Rather Die Than Let You Go**
After lunch, Bibi Dong and her entourage from the Spirit Hall returned to the Great Fighting Soul Arena, leaving Zhao Ling with a momentary reprieve.
Meanwhile, Ah Yin asked Zhao Ling to accompany her on a shopping trip for clothes. Eager to escape the strange, predatory stares of both women, Zhao Ling immediately agreed.
'Why are they looking at me like hungry wolves eyeing fresh meat?' Zhao Ling shivered at the thought.
He dismissed the absurd idea that they had suddenly fallen for him or were interested in his appearance. Despite the system's reward amplifying his looks to a respectable score of 88, Zhao Ling was certain that Bibi Dong, having lived in a bustling metropolis like Spirit City, had seen countless men with beauty scores above 90.
'Surely, she wouldn't be interested in someone like me after only a few days.'
His unease only deepened as he failed to understand why the two women stared at him so intently. He was relieved when Ah Yin's request provided him with an excuse to leave.
Ah Yin, noticing Zhao Ling's anxious and hurried demeanor, couldn't suppress her laughter. She found it amusing that a powerful Titled Douluo could be so unnerved by a pair of curious gazes.

For the next two hours, Zhao Ling accompanied Ah Yin through the bustling commercial streets. She bought four sets of dresses and shoes—two sets in blue and gold, and two in silver and white.
When it came time to pay, Zhao Ling insisted on footing the bill. With tens of thousands of gold soul coins at his disposal, he considered himself relatively well-off.
"If you want to pursue someone, you can't be stingy," he thought to himself.
However, to his surprise, Ah Yin firmly declined his offer. She paid for the purchases herself, explaining that they had only known each other for less than a week. "I can't let you spend money on me," she said with a hint of seriousness. "Otherwise, I'd feel like I was being… kept."
Zhao Ling felt his heart clench. He wanted to tell her outright that he wouldn't mind supporting her for a lifetime, but her resolute expression made him hesitate.
He sighed inwardly. 'In my past life, I learned that when a woman refuses to let a man spend money on her, it usually means one of two things: either she's fiercely independent or she has no interest in him at all.'
Which is it? he wondered.
He glanced at Ah Yin, who had earlier held his arm affectionately and addressed him as "Brother Ling." Could it all have been an illusion? Was he overthinking?
Ah Yin's lips curved into a small, mysterious smile as she observed his conflicted expression. Her eyes sparkled with amusement.

Elsewhere, in a private room within the Great Fighting Soul Arena, Yu Xiaogang groaned as he slowly regained consciousness.
Had it not been for the arena's healing soul masters, Bibi Dong's noon-time assault would have left him bedridden for days. Even so, his neck throbbed painfully as he twisted it, attempting to shake off the stiffness.
"Where am I?" he muttered groggily, rubbing his sore neck.
Memories of the incident came flooding back. He had been waiting for someone outside the arena when, out of nowhere, he was struck from behind and knocked unconscious.
"That damned coward!" he growled, vowing revenge against the mysterious attacker.
The creak of the door interrupted his thoughts. A guard entered briefly to check on him before leaving without a word. Yu Xiaogang frowned but held back his questions. Moments later, another figure stepped into the room.
Through the dim light, Yu Xiaogang recognized him as the person in charge of the Great Fighting Soul Arena.
The man greeted him with a professional smile. "Second Young Master Yu, I'm glad to see you awake. Had you remained unconscious, I was preparing to arrange a carriage to send you back to the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex family."
Yu Xiaogang regarded the man warily, fully aware of his reputation as a "smiling tiger."
"Thank you for your care," he said, inclining his head slightly to show his gratitude.
However, the man's smile faltered as he delivered his next words.
"Second Young Master Yu, I have a request—one that I hope you won't find unwelcome. You've been here for over a week now, and during that time, you've been injured three or four times. Considering your noble status, I must ask you to leave the Great Fighting Soul Arena."
Yu Xiaogang's expression darkened.
The man continued, "If something serious were to happen to you here, the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex family might hold us accountable. I hope you understand—it's a risk we simply cannot afford."
Yu Xiaogang's anger flared. "Why should I leave? I didn't ask for these injuries! I was attacked, yet you're ordering me to leave instead of apprehending the culprits? Shouldn't it be your responsibility to find those responsible and bring them to me for an apology?"
His voice rose as he added, "Why should the victim be the one to leave in disgrace? Does the Great Fighting Soul Arena think the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex family is easy to bully?"
Beneath his indignation, another thought took root. A graceful, angelic figure remained in the arena—someone who had stirred his heart like no one else before.
Yu Xiaogang clenched his fists. 'She's still here. I can't leave. I won't leave!'
He was certain that the girl—so beautiful and ethereal—harbored feelings for him. If he walked away now, he might lose her forever.
His determination solidified. 'I'd rather die than let her go.'
