Percy Jackson and The Wizarding World

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Unveiling the Past

Percy couldn't shake the feeling that something big was coming. Ever since their run-in with the shadowy figure in the Keeper's Vault, he had been on edge. Even with Dumbledore analyzing the ancient book, Percy knew that waiting around wasn't his style.

So, naturally, he found himself sneaking around Hogwarts again.

"Remind me why we're doing this again?" Ron whispered as they crept through the castle's dimly lit corridors.

"Because waiting for answers is boring," Percy replied, scanning the walls for any hidden passageways.

Hermione sighed, clutching her wand tightly. "Honestly, Percy, do you always have to rush headfirst into things without a plan?"

Percy grinned. "Hey, plans are just suggestions."

Harry, who had been quiet up until now, chimed in. "To be fair, his plans usually work… somehow."

Ron snorted. "Somehow being the key word."

They finally reached their destination—the entrance to the castle archives, hidden behind an unassuming tapestry of Merlin teaching a group of young wizards. Hermione muttered a charm under her breath, and the tapestry shimmered, revealing a narrow stone doorway.

"I still can't believe Dumbledore didn't let us keep the book," Percy muttered.

"Yes, because giving you an ancient book of unknown power is such a good idea," Hermione retorted.

Percy rolled his eyes. "I'm responsible. Mostly."

Harry shook his head with a grin and pushed open the door. Inside, the archives stretched into the darkness, shelves upon shelves of ancient tomes, scrolls, and artifacts. The air smelled of parchment and dust, and Percy's senses tingled with the feeling of powerful magic lingering in the air.

"Alright," Hermione said, pulling out a checklist. "We're looking for anything related to Hogwarts' early history, especially anything mentioning the Founders and their connection to divine magic."

Ron groaned. "I'll check the shelves, but don't expect me to find much."

Percy glanced around the massive room. "I'll take the creepy section in the back."

Harry shot him a look. "You always pick the creepy section."

Percy shrugged. "Gotta embrace it."

Deep in the Archives

Percy sifted through an old, leather-bound book filled with archaic symbols, most of which he couldn't understand. He flipped through the pages idly until something caught his eye—a familiar trident symbol at the corner of a page.

"Hermione, come look at this!" he called.

Hermione hurried over, peering at the text. "That's Poseidon's trident. This text… it mentions something called the 'Reliquary of Atlantis.'"

Percy raised an eyebrow. "Atlantis? As in the sunken city? Please tell me it's not under Hogwarts."

Hermione shook her head. "No, but according to this, the Founders may have retrieved something from Atlantis—a relic of great power."

Harry looked over Percy's shoulder. "What kind of relic?"

Percy traced the text. "Says here it was a 'gift from the ocean's depths, imbued with the strength to conceal and protect.'"

Hermione gasped. "The Mist!"

Percy's mind clicked the pieces together. "So, you're telling me Hogwarts is hiding something that controls the Mist?"

Ron walked up, holding a dusty scroll. "I think I found something too. It's a map… sort of. Shows different hidden chambers under the castle."

Hermione grabbed it eagerly. "This… this could show us where the relic is!"

Percy grinned. "Finally, something useful."

But before they could celebrate, a low, menacing voice echoed through the archives. "Trespassing in restricted areas, are we?"

They all spun around to see Snape standing in the doorway, his black robes billowing ominously.

"Uh… hey, Professor," Percy said, trying to look innocent. "We were just—"

"Enough," Snape snapped. "Fifty points from Gryffindor for each of you. And detention. Immediately."

Ron groaned. "Knew this was a bad idea."

Snape's dark eyes lingered on Percy. "And as for you, Mr. Jackson… you seem quite fond of breaking rules."

Percy smirked. "It's a gift."

Snape's expression darkened. "You'll find Hogwarts does not tolerate reckless behavior, no matter where you come from."

Percy met his gaze. "Yeah? Well, where I come from, sneaking around usually means finding answers."

Snape's lips curled into a sneer. "We shall see if you survive long enough to find them."

Detention in the Dungeons

Percy, Harry, Ron, and Hermione found themselves scrubbing cauldrons in the dimly lit dungeons, courtesy of Snape. Percy grumbled as he scraped at a stubborn stain. "I don't get it. If Hogwarts is sitting on some super-powerful artifact, why isn't anyone doing anything about it?"

Harry wiped sweat from his brow. "Dumbledore probably knows more than he's letting on."

Hermione sighed. "He's always been careful about what he reveals. But if the Mist is really being controlled by something here, it could explain why the wizarding world and the demigod world don't collide more often."

Percy nodded. "Yeah, and if someone—like Voldemort or worse—gets their hands on it, things could go bad real fast."

Ron groaned. "Right, and it's up to us to stop it, isn't it?"

Percy grinned. "You catch on quick, Weasley."

Hermione leaned closer, whispering, "We have the map now. Once we're out of here, we can figure out where the relic is hidden."

Percy's grin widened. "Perfect. Then it's adventure time."

Snape's voice cut through the air. "Silence!"

Percy sighed, scrubbing harder. "Yup. Just another day in the life of Percy Jackson."

That Night – Gryffindor Common Room

After serving their detention, the group huddled in a quiet corner of the common room, studying the map Ron had found.

Hermione traced a line with her finger. "There's a hidden chamber here, deep beneath the lake."

Percy raised an eyebrow. "Under the lake? My dad's domain, huh? Figures."

Harry nodded. "We'll need a way to get down there without drawing attention."

Percy smirked. "Leave that to me. Water's kind of my thing."

Ron groaned. "Great. More underwater adventures. Just what I wanted."

Percy clapped him on the back. "Don't worry, Ron. I'll teach you how to swim properly."

Hermione rolled her eyes. "Focus, you two. We'll have to plan this carefully."

Percy gazed at the map, his mind already racing with possibilities. Whatever lay beneath the castle, he was determined to uncover it—before Malfoy or anyone else got there first.

"Let's do this," Percy said, determination settling in his voice. "Hogwarts won't know what hit it."
