Percy's Pokemon Adventure

Chapter 37: Chapter 36

When Percy saw the look that Jasper gave him when he teleported he knew what the final decision was. Percy held no ill feelings to his decision but actually appreciated it. Bye taking Zoe, Jasper made Percys job easier. As soon as Percy saw that look he tapped Kais arm.

Kai was looking up at the edge of the sinkhole and his face was dumbfounded. "We gotta get outta here man. Let's go." Percy pointed to the cave entrance that the Pokémon aren't coming from. Kai snapped out of it and moved toward the cave. Suddenly piles and piles of Spinarak and Ariados spilled out of the cave.

They immediately spotted the boys and skittered after them. Both of their faces fell and they sprinted down the cave. Kai went first and their feet pounded against the stone floor. There wasn't enough room to run side by side so Percy ran behind Kai.

Fortunately both boys were very fast and could out speed the spiders. Their breathing fell into a rhythmic in and out. They were both still very tired from lifting the boulder and their limbs burned with effort. The cave was near pitch black so Percy used the little aura he had left to strengthen his eyes so he could see enough to not fall.

Webs hit his face and he brushed them off continuously. Although he had no idea how Kai wasn't falling on his face. After just five minutes of running he was getting tired. Suddenly Kai came to a stop. Percy slid to a stop as to not run into Kai and looked to see what Kai stopped for.

A giant hole was in the ground about 10 meters down. Percy could see husks of Pokémon who looked like they had been sucked of all blood littering the bottom of the hole. It's steep walls had scratches on it from some of the prey that was still alive. The smiled rising from the hole was horrendous and Percy was gagging. The skittering of the spiders behind them became louder as they caught up.

The cave tunnel continued on the other side of the hole. They would have to jump 3 meters to reach the other side. Kai took a few steps back and got a running jump to the other side. His legs coiled and he reached the other side safely. Percy took a few steps back and tried to jump. The stone beneath his foot crumbled as he jumped and he got a lot less air than he wanted.

His arms flailed and he didn't think he could make it. Percys chest slammed into the stone on the other side and his fingers clawed the ground to bring himself up. He had the air knocked out of him and his limbs were weak. He slid down and almost fell into the pit but Kai grabbed one of his hands and hauled him up.

Percy panted on the ground with his feet still hanging in the pit. "Thanks a lot." He said to Kai. Kai grunted and turned. "Hurry up." Kai turned down the stone hallway cave and started running. Percy pushed himself up and ran after Kai. "Do you know where to go?" Percy asked.

"How the hell would I know where to go. We are in a tiny ass hallway cave and I'm stuck here with an idiot." Kai snorted. They ran and talked/argued at the same time. "Well I'm sorry. I don't want to be here either. I just thought maybe you cloud sense a exit or something." "Dude. We are in a hallway of a cave with hundreds of spider Pokémon following us. There aren't even any other paths to take. WE ARE IN A HALLWAY." Kai said exasperated. Percy became silent and shook his head.

He's been a little tense and hasn't been thinking clearly. "Yeah your right." He said quietly. The boys continued to run and outpace the spiders. Meanwhile up on the surface the Prodigies were slowly making their way through the forest. Luna lay on a stretcher carried by Haley and Jason. They both walked with extreme care and made sure that Luna never moved an inch. Her head was heavily bandaged and blood stained the white stretcher.

Aurora and her Chansey walked by the side and her Chansey exuded a pink glow. Grace walked on the other side her tears dropping onto the unconscious girl. The mood was extremely solemn and nobody spoke a word. Eventually Ash couldn't take it anymore and spoke up. "Let's contact the Gym and let them know what we found." Ash suggested. Nobody replied. He internally sighed and pulled out his Pokédex. After calling the gym and telling them everything he knows he resumed walking.

Percy and Kai suddenly came across a small group of Spinarak and came sliding to a stop. Percy immediately went to his Pokémon belt. "I'll handle this." Kai said. He raised his palm and held it steady toward the Pokémon. His hand braces his right arm and a large flame exploded out of his hand and incinerated the Pokémon.

They all dropped unconscious and Percys jaw dropped. Kai jumped over the smoldering bodies and kept on running. Percy followed suit but had to ask Kai a question. "Was that-". "Flame manifestation." Kai answered. Flame manifestation is an aura type that allows the user to manifest flames into their aura.

There are all kinds of elemental manifestation that could be found and flame was one of the most common. Lightning, Ice, and Poison are just some of many. This is Percys first time seeing elemental manifestation so he was amazed. "So does it run in the family or something." He asked while running.

Kai snorted. "Most of the main branch family members have it. A lot of the trainers that apply to join the clan are judged on wether they have a flame aura type or not. I'd say about 20% of the entire clan has flame manifestation. But if it's only the main branch 90%." Kai explained.

There wasn't much else to do but run so he entertained Percys questions. "Supposedly being around Arcanine so much changed our genes to make it more likely to get flame aura." He added. Suddenly Percy noticed that the hallway of stone started widening. He signaled to Kai who also noticed to slow down. The clicking of the spiders could still be heard but not nearly loud enough for them to be concerned.

Percy didn't know what the widening of the cave meant so he decided to be a little more stealthy. Both boys crouched and continued forward. They strengthened their eyes more and Percy could see a little better. The hallway led into a very large room where giant nests made out of silk could be seen. Percy and Kai stopped breathing when they saw the nests. Their eyes scanned the room and saw several very large Ariados sleeping with very small Spinarak.

None of the Ariados were as big as the one the Prodigies have fought but when compared to the average size, they were enormous. All of them were asleep on their giant nests and sitting next to them were eggs. Percys eyes widened and he took a tentative step forward. He scanned all the Ariados and found something very surprising. All of their levels were above 35 with the biggest being level 50. The level 50 Ariados was also Blue potential.

Percy noticed that the level 50 Ariados seemed very young compared to the Ariados around it. 'It must be the leader!' Percy thought. The idea was both very concerning and exciting. He had found the main nest but he was now in front of an incredibly strong Pokémon. Kai had also scanned the Pokémon and came to the same conclusion. Kai started for an exit but Percy held him back. Percy pointed to an egg next to the Ariados. He had scanned the egg and found out it was light blue potential. Percy being the greedy shit he was, didn't want to let it go.

He very quietly made his way over to the spider and picked up the large egg. Quietly he stepped off of the nest and made his way back to Kai who impatiently waited. Kai wanted to say some very explicit things to Percy but remained completely silent as to not wake the Ariados. Percy was very fortunate that Ariados sleep during the day or else he would've been torn apart the second he entered the room. He could hear the sounds of the Pokémon that followed him and the Ariados started getting restless.

Percy knew that the second the other Pokémon wake these Ariados up, he's dead. Percy and Kai stealthily left the room and broke into a run towards the opposite direction. This time the hallway was much bigger and they could run easily. This part of the cave could definelty fit the giant Ariados they had fought before.

Percy ran a little bit slower as he had to carry the giant egg. Suddenly the cave started rumbling intensely. "Great. Just Great. I bet that leader Ariados just found out it's egg had been stolen and now it's gonna find us and kill us." Kai complained. The cave continued to rumble and the Ariados was screeching and banging itself against the walls. They could hear it begin it's chase and it quickly began down the cave. It was clearly extremely fast and was rapidly gaining. After a couple of twists and turns the boys could hear running water. Both of the boys pushed harder and could finally see light.

Light came through an exit to the cave and rushing water could be heard outside of it. Percy and Kai came to a sliding stop at the exit and were shocked. The exit jutted out onto the middle of a cliff where a river rushed below it. Percy and Kai looked down the steep 30 meter drop. Then both of them looked at the side of the cave to see if they could maybe climb out.

Unfortunately the shelf of the cliff had way too little places to grab and hold onto. If Kai and Percy had extensive climbing experience then it would be possible but they definitely didn't. "Can you swim?" Percy asked who was looking nervously behind them. They could hear the leader spider getting closer and closer. And if it saw them they wouldn't stand a chance. "No." Kai said solemnly. "What!?!?" "Look fire aura users don't mix well with water. So I've never even tried to swim." Kai challenged.

Percy had a creek on his property and practiced swimming when the water was high. He wasn't great but he's good enough to not drown. The river was moving pretty fast and Percy didn't think that he could overpower it. 'That's what Crash is for.' Percy released Crash and urged Kai. "No. I'll just die I can't swim." "You'll die if you stay up here too. This is the only option." Percy argued. Kai bit his lip and full sent it off the cliff. Percy followed closely with Crash.

Crash was very confused as to what is happening but he imagined that he could be of use. Both boys went in feet first and held their breath. The cold water swallowed Percy and he was thrown around under water. The current was a lot stronger than he imagined and he was losing air fast. His body was slammed against the bottom of the river repeatedly and he was about to lose all of his breath.

His ribs had been slammed in the stony floor of the river where he heard a cracking noise. Suddenly something caught him by the back of his shirt and dragged him toward the surface. His lungs screamed for air and his vision darkened. They breached the surface and Percy took a deep breath but was slapped in the face by water. He felt like he swallowed a gallon of water.

Percy was quickly dragged to the stony shore and lay on the shore with half his body in the water. He raised his head to see Crash staring at him concerned. "Help Kai." He moaned and threw up water. Crash jumped back into the water and swam away into the river. Percy spat out the rest of the water in his lungs and looked back at cave entrance.

He had come a surprisingly long distance and he couldn't even see the exit to the cave. His entire body ached and he could feel bruises appear everywhere on his body. He groaned and attempted to stand up. His mucsles refused to listen to him and they lay inert on the ground. He gritted his teeth and hit his legs. That only resulted in more pain but he pushed through it and slowly stood up. Percy groaned again and started slowly limping toward where Kai would have flowed had he stayed in the river.

After a couple of seconds he could see Crash dragging Kai too the shore. Percy sighed in relief but became concerned. Kai didn't move at all and didn't even react to being out of the water. Percy broke into a limping run and made his way to Kai. As he got closer, Kai still didn't move and Percy became desperate. His limping run was pushed to its limits before he tripped on his own feet. Percy fell and scraped his hands on the stony and gravelly rocks. His hands bled but he dragged himself to Kais side.

Kais head was bleeding but not too terribly. It seemed he had hit his head on the floor of the river. Percy tried to remember a little about what to do when someone drowns. He read a book on it and only knew some minor things. First he felt if Kai was breathing which he wasn't. Percy tilted Kais head to the side and watched as a little water spilled out. Percy switched to CPR and did compressions on Kais chest.

Fortunately after 10 compressions water shot out of Kais mouth and he resumed breathing. However he didn't wake up. Percy breathed a sigh of relief. He was pretty sure that Kai wasn't awake because he hit his head. Not for some other life threatening reason. A screech pierced the air from the cave exit. Percys eyes widened and he tried to stand up again.

He at some point lost the egg while in the river but he wasn't concerned about that right now. It took him a few tries but he eventually got up. He picked up Kai by his armpits and started dragging him toward the forest. The forest had changed from silent to unreasonably active. Percy could hear the skittering of hundreds of spiders in the forest. It seemed the Ariados leader called to look for her egg. Percy quickly found a large bush to drag Kai into and hide in. He pulled Kai and Crash into the bush and quieting his heavy breathing.

His foot slipped into a hole in the bush and he looked down in surprise. A large burrow was made in the bush but was abandoned when the Spinarak came. The burrow was just big enough to fit Kai with a little extra space. Percy released Pharaoh and Fúria and explained their situation. Percy could hear the spiders searching through every bush and his face dropped.

All of the Spinarak and Ariados thoroughly sweeped the area. 'I'm gonna have to distract them.' He thought. Kai was still out cold and didn't show any signs of waking up. "You guys stay right here. I'll be right back. Defend this place." Percy whispered. He slowly pulled himself out of the Pokémon burrow and into the bush. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a small yellow flash. Thinking his mind was playing tricks on him he ignored it. He was in so much pain and discomfort that his eyes swam with colors.

Percy felt his rib cage and realized he must've cracked a rib. Spiders searched every single hiding place with thoroughness and he knew it was only a matter of time before they came to Percys bush. Once a roaming group of spiders came to clear the bush Percy burst out of it. He ran in the opposite direction of the cave exit and made sure to get the attention of all the Pokémon in the area.

His run seemed distorted and he ran pretty slowly. Even Spinarak could easily catch him at the rate he was going. Percy gritted his teeth and ignored all the pain in his body strengthening his form. He felt his bones and mucsles groan from overexertion but he ran faster and faster until he was back at normal speed.

His body was on the ropes and his breathing became labored. Spinarak and Ariados emerged from behind trees and in bushes to attack him. Percy nimbly avoided all of them by using the least amount of motion he could. Purple needles flew around Percy while he avoided them. Just 30 seconds later Percy was running but his vision lapsed in a second of vulnerability.

A needle took him in his shoulder sending him into a tree trunk. Poison rapidly took over his system and he fell to the ground. His forehead bled from the tree and his eyes were drenched in sweat. He struggled to stand but another needle hit his thigh. Both needles drilled holes through his body and he screamed in pain.

His face contorted in pain and he laid his head on the ground. Two more needles slammed into him. A hole was drilled into his arm and other leg. He screamed more and he felt poison spread through his body. His vision started to darken. 'What am I doing.' He thought to himself. 'I could've escaped by myself but here I am.' The spiders closed in on his body chattering loudly. The last thing Percy heard before passing out was a defiant screech from above.
