Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change

Chapter 106

Chapter 106: The Art of Changing Faces

The Divine Revelation Auction House was located in District 3, the heart of the Imperial Capital’s affluent area.

This district was a haven for the elite, home to countless skyscrapers and the headquarters of major guilds and corporations.

Every inch of land here was worth its weight in gold. Securing even the most ordinary job in District 3 was enough to guarantee a comfortable middle-class lifestyle for an entire family.

From the outside, the Divine Revelation Auction House appeared as a towering building made of white marble, adorned with intricate and mystical engravings that emanated an aura of profound mystery.

The structure itself was a marvel created using the Divine Revelation System—a testament to human ingenuity and reverence for the mysterious forces that governed the universe.

The auction house’s system, linked to the Divine Revelation, allowed anyone worldwide to submit items for evaluation. As long as an item’s value met the threshold, it could be auctioned. All sellers remained anonymous, making this the pinnacle of global auctions.

Ten years ago, the auction had even featured a Level 90 artifact—Sword of Terra. This legendary weapon of golden quality boasted strength attributes exceeding ten thousand points, with over a dozen unique enhancements and three nation-destroying active skills.

The sword’s emergence sparked a frenzy among the major powers, with nations such as the Eagle Nation, Island Nation, and the Roman Alliance vying for it. In the end, it was acquired by the Empire’s Regent, Lu Ji, becoming his prized weapon.

[TL Notes: Eagle Nation is pretty much America, Island Nation is Japan and if I remember correctly Roman is the entire Europe.]

The Divine Revelation Auction was hosted by the Church of Revelation, a global religious organization born from humanity’s veneration of the Divine Revelation.

Believers saw the Divine Revelation as the savior of the universe and humanity’s ultimate redeemer. Roughly 70% of the world’s population were adherents of this faith.

Despite its vast influence, the Church of Revelation maintained strict neutrality, abstaining from involvement in international affairs. This neutrality granted it a revered and untouchable status across nations.

In front of the auction house, security was exceptionally tight. The Imperial Capital’s police department had even sealed off the surrounding streets to ensure smooth access for the elite attendees.

Across the street, a swarm of reporters and media personnel jockeyed for position, eager to capture the arrival of the empire’s most powerful figures. Flashbulbs lit up continuously as each guest became a topic of heated discussion.

“That’s Cui Shaoqing, the eldest son of the Cui family. The Cui family is a major noble house from Liaonan Province, and Cui Shaoqing’s father was recently appointed as the highest official in the Ministry of Administration.”

“Look! That’s Li Liqun, head of the Third Combat Division of the Military Department and heir to the Imperial Capital’s Li family!”

“And over there—Pan Fan, the highest-ranking official in the Ministry of Logistics, has arrived as well!”

“Even the president of the Legend Guild is here! I heard he just absorbed the Four Directions Guild a few days ago.”

One after another, luxurious cars arrived, and impeccably dressed elites stepped out, holding their invitations.

After passing the security inspection, they entered the auction house with an air of pride and arrogance. Their very presence here was a statement of their unparalleled status and influence.

Another vehicle arrived, and from it emerged a corpulent man in a tailored suit, smiling broadly. His appearance caused a slight hush to fall over the bustling street.

It was none other than Sheng Junchen, the highest-ranking official in the Ministry of Supervision. Even the most distinguished elites tensed up at his arrival, the memory of the recent purges in the Imperial Capital still fresh in their minds.

“Minister Sheng, you’re here too!”

Though many despised him, cursing him silently and wishing for his sudden demise, others flocked to him with warm smiles and flattery.

Sheng Junchen was currently at the height of his power, seen by many as the very embodiment of the Qin family’s authority.

In the face of such influence, few could resist the urge to curry favor. Even the previously haughty elites now wore ingratiating smiles. Sheng Junchen greeted them warmly, his demeanor masking the ruthlessness of his character.

“Minister Sheng, after you, please!” A young man seized the chance to approach Sheng Junchen, unable to hide his excitement.

Sheng Junchen glanced at him and smiled. “Ah, it’s young Fang. You’re here too?”

“Minister Sheng, you remember me?” The young man, Fang Ying, was ecstatic.

As the young master of the second-rate Fang family, whose most prominent member was a deputy minister in the Military Department, Fang Ying considered this acknowledgment a tremendous honor.

Sheng Junchen exchanged pleasantries with the crowd, his affable demeanor concealing the commanding air of someone accustomed to holding great power. Yet his gaze frequently turned toward the street, as though awaiting someone’s arrival.

Finally, a sleek black car approached. Upon spotting the license plate, Sheng Junchen’s expression shifted, breaking into an eager smile. He hurried toward the vehicle like a puff of smoke.

Inside the car, Qin Xian and Qin Li were nearing the auction house.

“If the Death Fragment appears in this auction, it could allow your Reaper God to evolve again,” Qin Xian remarked to his sister with a smile.

Despite his usual cold demeanor, Qin Xian harbored genuine affection for Qin Li, particularly now that she had signed a soul contract with him. With her loyalty assured, there was no room for conflicts of interest between them.

Qin Li nodded silently, her gaze fixed ahead, a quiet determination shining in her eyes.
