Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead

Chapter 282: Clashing Of Stars

"Humiliated? You speak big all of a sudden, why don't you back it up with evidence?" Maiele Liameilos grinned, clenching her fists.

"No"

"Not now, you see, I wanted to monologue a bit…" King Nitok leaned on his staff, as dark as pure darkness, he raised his index finger.

She frowned, turning sour.

"Hell no, you can't just tell me this and then pull out-"

"Long ago, we had a discussion before you sealed me away" Nitok just proceeded to blabber anyway, moving his arms in the air as he spoke.

"I explained that the light of the sun was destructive to my good friends the vampires, at least for the most part- But that it was not due to a curse, but to a very sneaky blessing, I am certain a learned woman like yourself would know that most of the moons were see floating around in the distance at night are actually shining using the sunlight to do so, so how come they are empowered under this shine then?" he pointed at the elf, as though expecting her to participate in his exposition speech.

She shook and her head, the undead king stopped moving, so she eventually relented, rubbing the bridge of her nose.

"God dammit… You already explained this last time! It's because the power of the light of day is diluted by its passage through a moon or something, the sun empowers vampires, but direct sunlight is too potent by design, and burns them away completely, both in body, in soul et cetera!" sighing, the Elven Light spoke.

"So you do remember!

Then listen to this once more… The sun does not have to remain in my eclipse, even if it is a very powerful and impressive spell that I am certain everyone is gawking at in great interest and respect for its mighty caster- By simply joining me, I can help turning your sunlight of life into a sunlight of death, the world is changing, neither you, nor Ynigós, nor the people of Tamaris can prevent this shift-"

"It's still no Nitok, you can't convince me with your grand speeches, no matter how much sense you might make" Maiele crossed her arms.

"I don't give a shit about the sun, I don't give a shit about the people, I am only here to get a good fight" she cracked her knuckles.

"I am Maiele Liameilos, the Elven Light, hero in title of the system, the purger of the mythical elves, and I have never known defeat! I fought The Defiler aeons ago, I stand alongside the likes of The First, and of that freak Ynigós, and I have already defeated you once Nitok! Now, keep your pretty words for your little undeads and show me what you've got"

The Elven Light was unarmed, no blade powerful enough to be wielded by her hand, assuming a stalwart, yet peculiar stance, her flat hand in front of her face, the narrow sides facing her and Nitok.

King Nitok began stepping down from the elevated throne, the moment his skeletal feet touched the same ground as the living, his throne and the wall behind it slid back into the distant darkness.

"Very well then, if you insist" the skeleton king rose his staff up, conjuring forth the darkest of nights, King Nitok did not possess any innate abilities, only his mana of darkness and his magical talent, he did have a domain, but it lacked any offensive capabilities, an ability unlocked as he had ascended to the throne, combined with the zone he had refined, this had given birth to his dominion, which had been installed permanently with his domain as the dominant force amongst the two.

In this way, it was self-sufficient and allowed for the king to cast his dominion again, in a more offensive manner, something he did not bother to do to the elf's surprise, instead casting forth a plethora of tendrils of darkness from all directions.

Manifesting his magic from anywhere he wished, all without the slightest of sparks to announce its arrival, manipulating both inner and outer mana as simply as he could take a step forward, his manipulation of his darkness element was simply on another level, having it take any forms and shapes as he wished.

Moving the true sunlight within her body, Maiele Liameilos, kicking through the dark tentacles and dispersed the mist of darkness, throwing out a straight kick, landing against the king's staff, wrapped in thorns of darkness, which left shallow cuts on her ankles, bright light escaping instead of blood, mending the injuries in an instant.

The king was pushed back a meter or so, unhurt, his body and staff already enhanced with transcend, still, even then, he was moved from his spot, casting forth a variety of unseen barriers, to block the advance of the elf.

Condensing another transcend into another spell, forming a scythe blade at the top of his staff, slashing forth, his body floating to allow for the angles he wished to strike from, pointing up suddenly, a sea of darkness, its surface rippling like an ocean of oil.

"I like to call this one: Rain Of Dissolution…"

"I know, not very inspired, but I named it when I was still a little living goober-"

"You also already said this!" weaving through the heavy rain, threatening to melt her flesh, Maiele Liameilos approached close, following with a flurry of blows that were much too fast and numerous to enunciate one by one, the undead king forming blade on each end of his staff, swinging and spinning around.

By the end of this little bout, none seemed to have been struck at all, the only sign that blows had landed at some point was the damage left on their articles of clothing, it was at this time that they finally decided to stop playing around.

Both seemed stronger since their last encounter, but the gap separating them was just about the same, bored, the Elven Light unleashed her domain ability, which only served two purposes, one was to call forth a brilliant, miniature sun whose light and brightness was in no less inferior to that of an actual brilliant star.

Secondly, as long as this sun remained, she would be able of utilising the true sunlight within her body to its full extent, allowing her to bring it outside of her.

King Nitok's throne slid back within sight alongside the wall adorned with many trophies and such, he pointed back at the large banner hanging on the wall with his thumb, perfectly relaxed as the sun that had once robbed him of all of his magic was soon to manifest into existence.

"You see this banner? And those of my gravelords? I had them all redone recently, because of one simple thing I discovered during my time within the seal, my magic and death force suppressed, I was thrown into a state of semi-dormancy, slipping in and out of the realm of oblivion, where the purest of death resides"

The Elven Light stayed silent, the sun part way formed above her head.

"There, Kindly Death graced me with most a fortuitous encounter, in the depth of truest of death, I met with a star hidden away, an astral force meant to lead countless spatial bodies" Nitok planted his staff into the ground, raising his right hand in the position of blessing, fingers middle and index twisted, his left hand flat and presented forth to his opponent.

Above his head, an antithesis formed, like an accursed reflection.

"The Black Sun Of Darkness, not a sun of black light, but of pure, and true dark"

"This sun and I, have reached a most mutual agreement" the sun of darkness and that of light manifested at the same time, the former forcing the latter into a lightless abyss, expanding and dissipating, something resounded throughout the very skies and earth. Something that should not be broken had shattered.

"And so it has come to this, the night sky is now eternal, and it is adorned with the influence of death" Nitok snapped his fingers, grabbing his staff once more.

"What the hell was this?"

"Unfortunately Maiele Liameilos, you were a bit too prideful, you required the usage of an ability engraved upon yourself to call forth your elven sun, instead, I forged a pact with my sun in person, the quality of our bond is wholly above"
