Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead

Chapter 285: The One Who Talks, The One Who Strikes

"You- You can't just make pacts with solar bodies! How does that even work?! Why would there be a sun in oblivion anyways? You have to be making this up" Maiele Liameilos attempted to release her domain again, but the clash with the sun of darkness made it impossible, she could still feel the presence of her sun still, but it wouldn't come out.

King Nitok tapped on his staff, producing a most melodious sound, extending his bony palm toward the elf.

"Now that your win card has been taken away, will you- At last, consider my proposal? I am cutting you quite a lot of slack Miss Liameilos, I do admit that I find you rather endearing but I really will have to resort to murder if you keep denying the most alluring offer of becoming undead-"

"Silence Nitok! I don't give a crap about your offer, I live to fight and step on heads, stop babbling endlessly and kill me already" she flared up with true sunlight, still very much able of channelling it within her body as before, although it had still been adversely affected by the defeat of the elven sun.

"Kill, kill, kill… What do I have to do to convince people these days? Fine then" he swung his free hand, changing the structure of the crypt as he wished, sending both of them upward as though standing on a platform being pulled up.

Until they were both shrouded in the dark miasma of the outside, the world was plunged in absolute darkness, King Nitok could see through darkness better than he did in the day as an undead should, and Maiele Liameilos had sunlight coursing through her body as an energy, the world was always incredibly bright from her perspective, they had arrived on the vast roof of the undead palace, like perfect clockwork, more troops than the eye could discern were moving everywhere within the city and in its surrounded, guarding the main gate, The Graveyard had twisted the neck of his main head to stare directly at the Elven Light.

"Can't believe that idiot failed to destroy it fully" she shook her head.

"Do not blame him, he never bothered to check the condition of his enemies after victory, he never was a very serious man" in the sky above and around, the scions of Vespertillo and Atsalinopalo were flying freely in the sky, under the projection of pure darkness, having ceased the night sky as part of his dominion in one swift move, King Nitok's influence increased tremendously in mere instant.

He pointed up at various odd structures.

Up above, the scenery was changing right as they were speaking, beyond the reaches of the clouds, in the near endless expanse of nothingness, seven masses were forming around the black sun.

A blood red moon, smouldering with flames of the same colour, casting light that was immediately absorbed by the sun.

A bright, pale green moon, appearing blurry and smoky, geysers of corrosive blood erupting upon its surface, one did not a closer look to be able to tell that this blood was foetid, the smoke rising from its surface was due to the foul substances rubbing against the moon, which never seemed to be bothered by it.

A lush moon of dark blue, its surface enormous and crawling with beasts, monsters and creatures of all kinds, a bountiful ecosystem was already thriving on this newly formed lunar body.

A melting pale silver moon with a dark taint in the center, making it appear like an eye gazing down upon the ground, no matter the angle one watched from, it would always be staring right at them.

A constellation that seemed to be grasping for something, its presence was most definitely a bad thing already, as meteors were raining down from within its sanctum, as if animated with a will of their own, they are all directed toward Tamaris.

A constellation in a particular pattern that seemed to shift every moment, warranting one's utmost attention, many were already helplessly staring right at it without realising.

And lastly, a gigantic hollow star, riddled with holes, its light, blinding despite never reaching ground due to the black sun even harsher than a sun of light was on the eyes.

King Nitok showed them all off alongside the many clusters of rocks and minuscule stars that were appearing up above, like a canopy, all could be seen to people despite absolute darkness reigning supreme.

"I have not only seized a single sun and defeated yours, the entirety of the high sky now belongs to death! My dominion will reach everywhere sooner or later, there is no stopping this, no matter who might get in the way, we will carve our way even to the depth of hell and heights of heaven to deliver the rightful death to all who deserves it"

"Liameilos, fighting gods and devils, you could do this incredible act, and I can assure you, that you will succeed, so one last time, just take my hand and accept my gift" he held out his hand "And you too, will become a part of the night's sky-"

"No"

"Still?"

"Yes" Continue reading on My Virtual Library Empire

"Are you really certain? I just came up with all of this but I thought it was pretty good, not even curious?"

"No"

"This saddens me, should I get down on one knee and offer you a ring for you to consider? Marriage makes no sense for a skeleton but I suppose I should let death decide on a princess of death" he shook his head, a swift figure landing beside him.

Nosferatu clicked his tongue.

"Your majesty, that little elf is not worthy of your bony embrace, let us put an end to this, she does not understand the benefit of undeath, let her sink into oblivion" the vampire lord stepped forward, looming over Maiele.

"I usually disapprove of your strongarm tendencies, but nothing more can be done, ah… Why can't good diplomacy solve everything?" he silently casted a spell, closing off the roof with a humongous barrier of darkness.

King Nitok stepped back, both Nosferatu and Maiele readied themselves for a showdown, the vampires had never really gotten the occasion to properly face off against the Elven Light, her sun that she could just pull out of her pockets allowed her an easy victory if in an open space without covers and even then, it stopped all chances of victory for the night dwellers.

Both of them snapped back into action at the same time, an easy yet complicated choreography, back and forths, zooming from right to left, left to right, crouching and bending their bodies at angles that would kill the regular folk, Nosferatu chop strikes split the air, his attacks direct and packing incredible physical power.

Making use of his incredible defences to take blows, the Elven Light hit hard, no one but Nosferatu would willingly take so many hits from her, although her best attributes were her agility and dexterity, enhanced with true sunlight, each of her limbs snapped into place as she searched for a good way to actually win this fight.

Clearly, there was no escaping from this place with Nitok standing just over there, and even though he wasn't attacking, making a favour for his strongest gravelord who was just as much of a battlemonger as Liameilos, but he did not stop himself from continuing on speaking.

It was either he spoke in some outdated speech pattern, or he would just keep on rambling, there was no inbetween, focusing just made everything even worse.

"Nosferatu, do try to connect with your moon, that should give you a nice boost" he turned to the side, noticing something.

'Ah, so he is still around after all…' he calmly assessed, directing his palm in the vague direction he was sensing it from, casting a spell remotely for the benefit of a certain subordinate of his.
