Chapter 587: Operation Might Over All : Part Thirteen
Laughing like a madman without even realising it himself, Herlbe focused everything upon his cleaver and body, the festering death fuelling his chain and claws was put to better use there, all attention was geared toward the dark orange blur charging straight for him, clearly, the beast who reigned over the okean had also gotten ahead of himself.
Escaping this fight using the very same trick he was using to charge straight into confrontation would have been exceptionally easy, Tsar Pangea'Kalst, despite his gigantic proportions would very easily bury himself in the depth and go unnoticed if he wanted to, his instincts however, were compelling him to put an end to the vermillion creature.
Oozing with the festering death brought about by his mastery of Ierpalam, Herlbe's cleaver reached a simply illogical size and width.
When the two collided, it felt as though their momentum cancelled one another out, like they would both just begin falling straight down like bags of bricks, but instead, the black blade sliced through both pincers, through the legs and then right up against the body of the monarch himself, cutting through the great beast in a horizontal angle, Herlbe was surrounded by darkness and covered in grey-blue blood as went right through.
Blood flowed so much it seemed like okean had turned upside down and was falling directly upon him, after one entire minute of slicing, Herlbe felt the pushback lessening as the blade struck air, closely followed by the explosive sound of two massive objects crashing against the water, and then of course, himself beginning to fall down as all of his momentum was used up, falling into the sea which had managed to lose its dark shade as water seemed to be competing for space with the crab's grey blood.
Quickly, Herlbe's Ierpalam came to an end and his great cleaver also disappeared from his hands, leaving the regular him just floating on the surface, without a speck of life to be found anywhere nearby as even with Tsar Pangea'Kalst's defeat, none dared to get close.
Which might be due to the fact that despite having been sliced in half by a blade of festering death geared specifically toward pure power, the monarch was not yet dead and still moving whilst slowly sinking.
'This guy is a real piece of work' without Loimos's true festering death force and his perfect control of it, dealing with beings of such immense life force felt like trying to hack down a tree that grew twice its previous size with every strike it received.
But there was no doubt to be found within the revenant's bones, Pangea'Kalst was done for.
Soon enough, the sound of someone clapping rang out from above.
"Hey, nice work down here! I wanted to help at some point, but held myself back, thinking that you were really killing it" Hartracite casually floated down, standing on a platform of bleached stone.
'And here's another piece of work…' Herlbe would have rolled his eyes if he had any, already worried what sort of scene would arise when she was made to meet with King Nitok… The thought alone was horrifying enough to make a corpse shiver.
"No problem, not like I needed your help for this, it was easy… Like carving a pumpkin" climbing up onto the platform, they began moving toward where the pieces of the tsar had fallen.
"By the way… I don't mean it as a critique or anything… But why didn't you use that ability of yours to surge with power toward the end?"
"...I forgot"
"No wonder you're an undead, no way you could live long like this"
"I would like to remind the bratty bunny girl that I am higher ranked than you now, I am a minor lord and you will be a regional lord, I am deserving of respect"
"Good argument blockhead, however, I do not care"
"Unbelievable" finding engaging in banter with Hartracite to be a battle that could not be won, he jumped off as soon as they reached the spot, Herlbe sinking into thick blood rather than water as swam down to catch up with the still twitching tsar.
His life force was pouring out, but the crab had so much and his regenerative ability was so great that he was still holding on, trying to fetch his other part someway to reattached himself, however, with how the revenant had sliced him up, the brain was completely separated from the legs, so the conscious portion of his body had no way to move or grab onto anything.
Not waiting around for when the other dwellers of the deep finally went over their fear of the tsar, Herlbe took out a back, crystal needle and stabbed it through Pangea'Kalst's heart, for a few moments, the needle seemed to struggle to contain and gain control over the tsar's life force, but eventually, all was condensed into a single point and swiftly turned into death force that was a perfect mirror of the potency of the crab's formed, seemingly boundless life force.
Herlbe had to back down as undeath took hold, pulling the tsar back together, reforming him as his body went through some changes, unlike with the tsarina, one wouldn't be hard pressed to notice the difference between now and then, Pangea'Kalst's dark orange carapace took on a bone-white shade, the countless spikes chaotically covering his legs growing sharper and more twisted, barbs appearing upon them.
There were no obvious signs of decay or rot manifesting upon him however, the extent of the changes weren't major, which did not matter much, nothing needed to be added from him to be a force to be reckoned with, as an undead, Pangea'Kalst had become even stronger and the life force he once naturally oozed was now replaced with the superior energy, meaning that soon enough, he would foster an undead continent upon his back.
'Can he even get through the portal though? And was I the fastest to conquer this realm then?'
Reemerging whilst standing atop of the tsar's head, who whilst seemingly unable to express himself through any language, definitely understood what was being told to him in death tongue.
"Hartracite, I would like if you didn't tell me that there is actually another big shot lurking around"
"Not that I am aware, it was just me and good old Pangea'Kalst… Are you not planning on making the entire okean undead?" she asked, floating over to the big crab and patting him on the head.
"These creatures could see some usage as living soldiers… I just need to find my little birdie"
"Do prepare your people, they are definitely going to see usage as soldiers" he added, feeling content with his accomplishment, although, having no perception of time, he had no clue how long he had spent in this realm.
Who knew if he would actually be the first to complete his mission and earn himself bragging right for the rest of eternity?
