Chapter 7: Chapter 7
The next day, Peter followed his usual routine and went to school. However, the atmosphere was different. There was an unusual buzz among the students, whispers and murmurs filling the hallways. The news of Flash being hospitalized had spread like wildfire.
In the crowded hallway, two students, Jake and Emily, were talking in hushed tones near their lockers.
"Did you hear about Flash?" Jake asked, his eyes wide with curiosity.
"Yeah, I heard he's in the hospital. What happened?" Emily replied, leaning in closer.
"Apparently, he got attacked last night. They found him in an alley, beaten up pretty badly," Jake explained.
Emily shook her head in disbelief. "That's crazy. I never thought someone would go after Flash like that."
Meanwhile, in the cafeteria, a group of Flash's friends sat around a table, their faces etched with concern.
"This is messed up," one of them, Mark, said, clenching his fists. "Who would do this to Flash?"
"I don't know, but whoever it is, they're gonna pay," another friend, Kevin, added angrily. "Flash may be a jerk sometimes, but he's our friend."
Liz Allan, Flash's girlfriend, sat a few tables away, lost in her thoughts. She wasn't in love with Flash—it was just a high school fling—but seeing him hurt still affected her. She stared at her lunch tray, barely touching her food.
I can't believe this happened. Flash can be a jerk, but no one deserves to be attacked like that, she thought. Who could have done this? And why?
As the day went on, the rumors continued to spread, and the students couldn't stop talking about the incident. In the locker room, the members of the football team were visibly shaken.
"Flash is gonna be out for a while," their coach announced solemnly. "He's gonna lose his position on the team. We need to step up and fill the gap."
The team members exchanged worried glances, knowing that Flash's absence would be a significant blow to their performance.
Back in the hallways, two girls, Jessica and Mia, were discussing the incident near the water fountain.
"Do you think it was someone from another school?" Jessica asked.
"Maybe. Or it could be someone who really hated him," Mia replied, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "Flash had a lot of enemies."
At school, Peter was standing near his locker, casually observing his surroundings. The hallways were filled with students talking in hushed tones about the recent incident involving Flash. Peter took a random book from his locker and closed the door, feeling a sense of satisfaction knowing that he was the one who had put Flash in this situation.
Flash had it coming, Peter thought to himself, a smirk playing on his lips. Maybe now he'll think twice before messing with people.
As Peter made his way to class, he unexpectedly bumped into Liz Allan. Liz was startled, and her eyes widened in surprise.
"Oh, Peter! Sorry, I didn't see you there," Liz said, trying to regain her composure.
"No problem, Liz," Peter replied, feigning innocence. "How are you doing? Have you heard anything about Flash?"
Liz sighed, her expression somber. "Yeah, I heard. He's in the hospital. They said he got attacked last night. It's horrible."
Peter nodded sympathetically, though he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. "That's tough. I hope he gets well soon."
"Yeah, me too," Liz said, though her tone lacked genuine concern. "I mean, Flash can be a jerk, but I didn't expect something like this to happen."
Peter gave her a reassuring smile. "He'll pull through. He's tough. Anyway, I should get to class. Take care, Liz."
"Thanks, Peter. You too," Liz replied, still looking a bit shaken.
As Peter walked away to his class, he looked back at Liz, She is Hot...'he couldn't help but feel a sense of exhilaration. This is just the beginning, he thought.
"What a wonderful world..." He sang as he walked towards his class.
The rest of the day passed uneventfully, but the news of Flash's hospitalization continued to dominate conversations. Students whispered in the hallways, and teachers tried to maintain order despite the underlying tension.
