Pirate of Darkness (si)

Chapter 4: Chapter 4

The navy is here, everyone, get ready!" The watchman stood on a high vantage point, shouting with a telescope in his hand.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" Pirates lined up on each side as Whitebeard moved forward step by step, gripping his supreme-grade naginata, Murakumogiri, and swinging it in a powerful arc. His wide white cloak, emblazoned with the Whitebeard Pirates' logo, billowed in the wind.

"Hey! If I don't move for too long, my body gets rusty. Time to stretch my muscles and teach these navy brats a lesson!" Whitebeard laughed heartily.

"Target the navy warship—charge!"

"That's how it should be!"

"Just the navy? The Whitebeard Pirates fear nothing!"

"Let these navy dogs remember that we are not to be trifled with!" The crew was filled with fighting spirit, their fearlessness apparent. Even Teach began to polish his twin swords, Purgatory.

Two years had passed since Teach joined the Whitebeard Pirates. He had fully integrated into the crew, and life at sea was far from dull. Every day was filled with feasting, drinking, and training. He regularly sparred with Vista and Kozuki Oden, learning swordsmanship from them. They held nothing back, and Teach, in turn, shared techniques with his comrades. Over time, he mastered both the one-sword and two-sword styles and even developed his own techniques.

His physical prowess also improved rapidly. The Whitebeard Pirates had many training methods, and even the navy's Rokushiki techniques were among them, though only a few crew members practiced them. Teach focused on Shigan and Geppo. Practicing Shigan enhanced his finger strength, while Geppo gave him an advantage in aerial combat.

Teach had no formal instructor for hand-to-hand combat, so he trained independently, occasionally sparring with others. Over time, he perfected his fighting techniques, particularly his claw and gun-style attacks, making his unique combat style formidable.

The sea was vast, filled with mysterious islands and diverse cultures that broadened Teach's horizons. He always carried a notebook, recording everything he encountered. As the Whitebeard Pirates expanded their influence, battles became routine—reckless challengers, pirates daring to oppose Whitebeard, and even high-ranking pirate crews looking for a fight.

Clashes with the navy were inevitable. Sometimes they faced fleets led by the naval hero Garp; other times, Admiral Sengoku himself appeared. The navy was still very active in the New World, and Teach even encountered future admirals—Kuzan, Sakazuki, and Borsalino. Though he hadn't fought them directly, they were already making names for themselves on the battlefield.

With naturally strong mental fortitude, Teach never needed sleep. He trained every night without fail. Though he had yet to experience rapid growth spurts, his physical strength and endurance steadily improved. He often dived into the deep sea to train under immense water pressure, strengthening his body.

"Monsters aren't born; they are forged through constant training," he thought. Even Kaido's so-called immortality came from relentless conditioning. Big Mom was an exception—born a monster. Teach had no idea how strong she had been from the start.

For now, Teach only revealed his swordsmanship.

As the Whitebeard Pirates approached, the captain of the navy warship looked anxious. "Lieutenant General Thomson, the Whitebeard Pirates are closing in. What should we do?" he asked urgently.

Thomson took a deep drag from his cigarette, eyes flashing with cruelty. Without hesitation, he barked, "Retreat immediately! Request reinforcements from nearby warships! We can't handle the Whitebeard Pirates alone."

"Yes, sir!" the adjutant nodded and relayed the orders.

"Damn it!" Thomson cursed. He had been tailing the Whitebeard Pirates but had underestimated their sharp instincts. Now they were on his trail. He braced himself for battle, hoping reinforcements would arrive in time.

"Father! That navy ship is trying to run!" a pirate shouted.

"Gurarara! Do they think they can escape my grasp? Full speed ahead, my children!" Whitebeard laughed, slamming Murakumogiri onto the deck. Instantly, the Moby Dick surged forward, propelled by a powerful seismic wave that altered the ocean currents.

Teach's eyes gleamed with admiration. "So this is the mastery of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit! Changing ocean currents to create an advantage—Whitebeard truly is on another level."

Meanwhile, on the navy warship, chaos erupted. "Why is our speed dropping?"

"The ocean current changed! We're going against it!"

"But why? And why aren't the Whitebeard Pirates affected?!"

Panic spread among the sailors.

"Silence! This is Whitebeard's power! If we can't escape, we fight! Justice will not be defeated! For justice!" Thomson's commanding voice steadied the crew.

At Marineford, news of the encounter reached the fleet admiral.

"What?! Lieutenant General Thomson is being pursued by the Whitebeard Pirates?!" Fleet Admiral Kong slammed his fist on his desk, shattering it. "Which vice admirals are closest?"

"Vice Admiral Rona and Vice Admiral ** are en route. They will arrive in 15 and 20 minutes, respectively."

"Send them immediately! Also, alert the G-1 branch—tell Sengoku to deploy at once! Whitebeard's influence has grown too quickly; we must suppress it!"

The situation in the New World was clear: the Golden Lion's Flying Pirates dominated with numbers, Whitebeard held unmatched personal strength, and Roger's crew, though small, boasted the highest combat ability. The three pirate groups were known as the "Three Legendary Pirates," and their existence threatened the navy's authority.

The navy needed a decisive battle to prove its strength.

"Understood! We depart immediately!" Sengoku stood up, with Vice Admiral Tsuru beside him.

"All navy personnel, prepare for battle!" Footsteps echoed as marines rushed to their stations. Soon, ten warships carrying 30,000 men set sail.

Back at the battlefield, the Moby Dick closed in. Pirates leaped onto the navy ship, clashing with marines. Vista targeted the enemy swordsmen, while Kozuki Oden confronted Thomson.

"Leave this to me. It's been a while since I had a good fight!" Oden grinned, drawing Enma and Ame no Habakiri.

His retainers—Nekomamushi, Inuarashi, and Izo—also engaged in battle, eager to fight.

Whitebeard stood watching. "This fight is beneath me. My children need to sharpen their fangs."

"Bah!" Teach skewered a navy officer and advanced through the warship. He knew its layout well, heading straight for the captain's quarters. Using Observation Haki, he located a hidden compartment beneath the desk. Inside were two Devil Fruits, a detailed guide on the navy's Rokushiki techniques, and even notes on "Life Return."

"Jackpot," Teach smirked. He didn't check the fruits yet—this warship would sink soon.

Then, he sensed something. A navy operator was using a Den Den Mushi to report. "Headquarters, we are overwhelmed! Whitebeard's forces are too strong! Lieutenant General Thomson is struggling—"

"Hold on! Reinforcements are on the way! The G-1 branch, led by Admiral Sengoku, is mobilizing! We will annihilate the Whitebeard Pirates! For justice!"

"For justice!" the operator echoed before rushing outside.

A flash of steel.

"How can you keep going?" Teach muttered as the operator's severed head hit the floor. He knew this battle had just become far more dangerous.
