Chapter 166: CHAPTER 165(BONUS)- The Art of Betrayal and the Fall of a King
"Do it!"
Trafalgar Law's expression darkened as he barked the command.
He truly despised the idea of working with Caesar—but the arrow was already nocked to the bow, and there was no turning back now.
"Gas Igniter!"
"Room: Baton Command!"
Caesar once again slammed his spark-clicker.
This time, the gas released was several times more concentrated than before, transforming into a massive sea of fire roaring toward Luo Yu.
At the same time, Law, ignoring the tremendous strain Room placed on his stamina, expanded its range to the limit. Boulders around them suddenly levitated and surged like missiles toward Luo Yu.
BOOM!
The two attacks landed squarely on the admiral.
Seeing their combined strike succeed, Law and Caesar didn't dare linger. Without hesitation, they turned to flee.
"Bepo! Forget the pirate ship—we're heading to the submarine. From now on, no matter what happens, we must escape this place with our lives!"
Law barked the order as he activated another Room, pushing it to its absolute limit. In a burst of blue light, he warped his crew—Bepo included—nearly a kilometer away in a desperate retreat.
Caesar, meanwhile, turned into gas and ignited himself from within, rocketing away like a missile using his own combustive force.
He even had the presence of mind to look back and sneer.
"Hah! Trafalgar Law, this is the time to run for your life! And here you are, still wasting time saving your men. Thanks for the head start!"
But…
"Trying your best to run, is it? Well, not even Jesus himself could save you now."
BOOM!!!
A thunderous explosion tore through the air, so sudden it shocked even the heavens.
A massive oppressive force crashed down like a hurricane, freezing the very air.
Both Law and Caesar, mid-escape, were suddenly gripped by an inexplicable sense of suffocation.
They whipped around—just in time to see it.
A visible wave of Conqueror's Haki, dense and crushing, descended like a god's wrath.
In that split second, their pupils dilated in terror.
BOOM!!!
The shockwave slammed into the dock like a divine judgment.
The surrounding landscape was instantly leveled—flattened under the sheer might of the blast.
The next moment, Law, Caesar, and their crews were blasted several kilometers away, smashing into the ground with bone-rattling force.
Blood spilled from their mouths as they struggled to sit up.
And before them, slowly walking through the dust, was the one man they feared the most.
They stared, eyes filled with horror.
Until today, they had only imagined what a marine admiral's strength might be like.
But reality was far crueler than fantasy.
Forget surviving a few moves—even escaping was a luxury.
"L-Luo Yu... Admiral Luo Yu... y-you can't kill me!"
Caesar Clown scrambled from the rubble, his voice trembling in terror.
"I—I used to be Vegapunk's right-hand man in the science division! I'm working with Doflamingo on top-secret experiments! That's valuable intel, right?!"
He was done pretending.
After witnessing Luo Yu stand in place and unleash such devastation—without even moving—Caesar knew resistance was meaningless.
"Wait, didn't that clown Doflamingo refuse the Marine's draft order unless you personally came to invite him?" Caesar's eyes lit up. "Don't I look like the perfect bargaining chip? I'm important to him, I swear!"
Law was stunned.
He had been considering whether to work with Caesar again for a last-ditch strike.
He never expected that this shameless gasbag would throw him under the bus, too.
"Captain," Bepo whispered nervously, "what do we do? If we fall into Admiral Luo Yu's hands, we might not escape alive…"
"Maybe… maybe we should sell ourselves too?"
SMACK.
Law backhanded Bepo on the head.
Feeling Luo Yu's sharp gaze fall upon him, Law's expression flickered between panic and calculation. Finally, he clenched his jaw.
"Admiral Luo Yu… look at me. Don't I look like a good bargaining chip too? I'm also very important to Doflamingo!"
Caesar froze mid-thought.
He thought he was the most shameless.
Turns out… he'd underestimated Law.
"You copycat!" Caesar snapped. "How dare you steal my idea! Admiral Luo Yu, don't worry—I'll call Doffy right now! I'll personally help you threaten him!"
"If you just hand me over to him, he'll definitely agree to your recruitment. I'm more useful than anything else you've got!"
Caesar fumbled with his Den Den Mushi, punching the call button in a panic.
Bepo and the other Heart Pirates could only stand there, mouths agape.
They'd always known their captain bore deep, bitter hatred toward Doflamingo.
But now—he was actually offering himself to Doflamingo just to avoid being taken by the Marines?
Law waved off their protests.
He understood the situation all too well.
If he fell into Doflamingo's hands, he might still have a slim chance for revenge.
But if he fell into Admiral Luo Yu's hands, there were only two possibilities:
Death.
Or worse—eternal imprisonment in Impel Down.
Either way, his future would be sealed.
As that realization sank in, Law's gaze drifted toward Caesar's Den Den Mushi…
But just as he looked, another Den Den Mushi began ringing.
Its sound came from the deck of the massive battleship docked at the port.
Law and Caesar both stiffened.
Their eyes followed the sound…
There, standing on the deck, was a man they both recognized.
No sooner had they spotted him, than a furious scream exploded from the ship:
"YOU BASTARD OF AN ADMIRAL! You dare shackle me in Seastone?! RELEASE ME NOW, OR I SWEAR I'LL KILL YOU!"
A ragged, torn-up figure wearing a flamingo-feathered cloak—missing feathers, clothes in tatters—stormed off the ship and leapt down to the dock.
Donquixote Doflamingo.
The man who once ruled the underworld like a king.
Now—he stood like a shackled criminal, roaring in impotent rage.
Law and Caesar were stunned speechless.
Just moments ago, they had held on to a sliver of hope that Doflamingo might serve as their lifeline.
But now…
Even he had fallen.
How could they possibly have the right to be "bargaining chips" anymore?
That hope vanished like smoke.
