PIRATES: I WORK IN NAVY FROM NINE TO FIVE

Chapter 227: CHAPTER 227- The Second Judgment – Fall of a Yonko

The shadow in the sky grew larger and larger, until it blanketed the entire battlefield like a doomsday veil.

What had once been partial darkness was now complete eclipse.

Those who had just halted their escape, hoping to stay and watch the "show," froze as they lifted their heads again.

And then—

Their scalps went numb.

Was this some cruel joke?

If only it were.

But no—

It was real.

Horribly, terrifyingly real.

Before they could react further, the massive shadow in the clouds expanded to its absolute limit.

And then—

CRAAASH!!!

The heavens split apart once again, torn asunder by a second celestial object.

It fell with the weight of a hundred thousand tons, blowing through the cloud layers like a divine hammer.

"Ten thousand meters…?"

No.

This one—

Was even larger.

Larger than the already-catastrophic meteor before it.

A planet-killer, descending upon them.

"KAIDO!! You can stop it! I KNOW YOU CAN!!"

Doflamingo screamed again, eyes wide with fanatical hysteria.

"SHUT UP, YOU DAMN CLOWN!!"

Kaido roared, face twisted with a rare expression—genuine panic.

His Observation Haki had picked up the new meteor long before the others noticed.

And the moment he did—

His heart sank.

One strike he had just barely endured…

And now came another?

Even larger.

This was never part of the plan.

But fate didn't wait for him to think.

The second meteor—

Collided with the first.

BOOOOOM!!!

It was like watching two planets crash into each other.

The shockwave tore across the ocean, whipping the sea into towering tsunamis.

A Level 16 hurricane roared outward, flattening ships and throwing people like toys.

Even those who were miles away were tossed like ragdolls into the air.

Weaker pirates were instantly crushed, spewing blood midair before being hurled away like broken shells.

And Kaido—

Trapped directly beneath the impact—

Felt the world split apart.

No—he split apart.

It was like a second meteor had slammed into his very soul.

His body was blasted down like a cannon shell, vomiting blood as he plunged toward the sea.

With Kaido—the pillar—broken, the fire clouds that held back the first meteor disintegrated.

The two meteors, now fused by impact, descended again—

Directly onto Kaido.

"A thousand meters… Five hundred… One hundred…!"

The final stretch closed in faster than thought.

Watching this from afar, King and Queen went pale.

In all their years at Kaido's side—

They had never seen him in such a helpless state.

And worse—

Below them lay the ocean.

Death itself for Devil Fruit users.

"Boss Kaido! I'm coming!!"

King screamed, erupting in flame and streaking through the air.

But compared to the speed of the descending meteor—

He was nothing.

The shockwave alone forced him backward.

"KING, STAY BACK!! I'LL STOP IT!!"

Kaido screamed, blood pouring from his mouth.

He struggled against gravity and force, refusing to give in.

But then—

A voice drifted gently into his ear.

"Still trying to tank it, huh?"

"Never even thought about destroying it from the start?"

"Yeah… brains really are a good thing to have."

Luo Yu sipped his cheap liquor, muttering with a smirk.

Kaido's brain went blank.

Then—

Cough!

More blood.

He was so angry, so humiliated, he was literally vomiting blood.

And the worst part?

Luo Yu was right.

Had he destroyed the first meteor—

Instead of catching it—

Then perhaps…

This second one would've never reached him.

But now—

The two meteors were one.

And he was beneath them.

"DAMN YOU, CLOWN!!YOU'VE LED ME TO RUIN!!I'LL KILL YOU FOR THIS!!!"

Kaido's roar echoed to the heavens—

But it was too late.

BOOOOM!!!

The meteors slammed into him with unimaginable force.

A mountainous shockwave exploded outward, generating a tsunami that devoured everything within dozens of nautical miles.

Ships. Men. Sea Kings.

All drowned in the tidal wave of raw power.

Even the pirates who had tried to flee—

Were consumed.

Only one vessel survived—

Far, far away.

A massive bird-shaped airship, already flying at full speed.

On its deck stood Big News Morgans, clutching the railing, pale-faced.

His eyes reflected the impossible—

The sea itself had erupted.

But then—

A crazed grin split his beak-like face.

"My god…The world is about to change."

"Four point six billion bounty… one of the Four Emperors of the Sea…"

"Kaido has been CRUSHED—by the new Marine Admiral's divine power!!"

"THIS… IS THE NEWS OF THE CENTURY!!!"

He turned to his crew, shouting:

"Tell me we got that footage! Was it broadcast?!"

All around him, the reporters who had survived stared wide-eyed, trembling.

Their Den Den Mushi had captured everything.

History had just been made.

But before joy could fully take hold—

A panicked voice screamed:

"Editor Morgans!!Bad news!!The mother Den Den Mushi—The main broadcast signal—was CUT!!"

"The final moment…It didn't go live!!"

"Didn't go live?!"

Morgans froze.

Then his face twisted with fury.

"WHO?!WHO THE HELL CUT THE SIGNAL?!"

"Get the backup!!I want that moment broadcast to the world!"

"Let them ALL know—The old era has finally been shattered!!"

On his command, the crew scrambled into action.

Backup Mushi were activated.Transmissions were reestablished.Footage was salvaged.

The truth would not stay buried.

Meanwhile—

On a CP0 surveillance ship hidden afar, silent and watching—

Mahā stared at the cut-off Den Den Mushi with a ghastly look on his face.

He still hadn't processed what he'd just witnessed.

Beside him—

Spandam collapsed to the floor, shaking.

"I TOLD YOU!!!We're just delivery boys…Now we've delivered a Yonko to his DOOM!"

"How the hell are you going to explain this to the Five Elders…?"
