Chapter 81: CHAPTER 81-"The Price of a Flying Six"
"Adjusted overtime project?"
Everyone present paused in confusion.
What kind of trick was that supposed to be now?
Even Sengoku on the other end of the Den Den Mushi was momentarily stunned before snapping out of it.
"Luo Yu, don't tell me you're trying to take advantage of the chaos!"
"This isn't the spirit of a proper wage earner! You and Garp aren't teaming up to mess with me, are you?"
Luo Yu chuckled, tipping back another swig of his cheap liquor.
"Fleet Admiral Sengoku, you're underestimating a truly professional employee."
Then his gaze turned toward the ocean horizon.
"That said, I've been wondering—just how much bounty is a Yonko worth?"
A Yonko?
Everyone stiffened.
Garp and Bogard followed Luo Yu's gaze, only to spot something massive approaching—
A colossal pirate ship, bearing the flag of Kaido of the Beasts, was cutting through the waves like a sea king.
"Luo Yu, are you saying… a Yonko's crew has come to Water 7?" Sengoku's voice trembled. "You're not using this as an excuse to get out of overtime, are you?"
The tension in his voice was obvious.
After all, the Yonko rarely moved outside the New World.
Water 7 was in the first half of the Grand Line. The presence of Kaido's pirates here was highly irregular.
Bogard spoke before Luo Yu could respond.
"Fleet Admiral, it's real. That's the Beast Pirates—Kaido's crew. And from the look of it, they're here specifically for Admiral Luo Yu."
There was a trace of relief in Bogard's eyes as he said it.
He'd been silently scheming how to give Garp enough cover to let the Straw Hats go.
Now Kaido's men had arrived. Perfect timing. Divine intervention.
Still, he was curious which of the Beasts had come in person.
Luo Yu adjusted his glasses, expression flickering with interest.
He had just earned 7.5 million Berries from beating up the Straw Hats.
Not enough for a ten-pull.
And now? As if the heavens had heard him—another job opportunity delivered to his door.
On the incoming pirate ship, a towering figure stood at the bow, flanked by another man in a white cloak.
"CP... I didn't expect the World Government to leak the new admiral's location to us Beast Pirates," the large man said coldly.
"I'll make sure our next weapons shipment to your side includes a little extra."
He paused, glancing toward the shoreline.
"Still, with Garp the Hero here, this might not go smoothly. Without Boss Jack around, things could get rough."
The man in white—clearly from CP0—let out a dry laugh.
"You're exaggerating, Saul. Garp might be troublesome, but don't forget—you're a member of the Flying Six.You're said to be strong enough to compete with the All-Stars."
"As for Garp… if you follow my instructions, he won't interfere."
"And remember—the Navy and the Yonko have an understanding."
"An understanding, huh?" Saul sneered.
"You CP dogs are full of schemes."
"I really want to see the expression on that new admiral's face… when he realizes the Beasts are here for him."
"Heh… so do I," the CP0 agent replied with amusement."It's about time the new admiral was put in his place—made to follow the orders of the Five Elders."
As the pirate ship docked, the Beast Pirates swaggered out, grinning with bloodlust.
Saul, the Flying Six member, leapt onto shore first, followed by hundreds of bloodthirsty pirates.
CP0, meanwhile, melted into the shadows, content to watch the show.
But the moment Saul and the others laid eyes on Luo Yu—they all froze.
Even Saul.
What was this feeling?
Was it disappointment?
Luo Yu stared at the uninvited guests with an expression of pure irritation.
Honestly? He was disappointed.
He thought this might be a big-name appearance—maybe an All-Star, or even Kaido himself.
Instead?
A glorified extra whose face he didn't even recognize.
"Garp! Tell me Kaido didn't show up himself!" Sengoku's voice exploded from the Den Den Mushi.
"If that's the case, don't blame us for retaliating!"
Luo Yu calmly answered without looking back:
"Fleet Admiral, do I look weak to you?"
Sengoku blinked. Then the video feed on the Den Den Mushi activated.
He saw the Beast Pirates disembarking and frowned.
"Tch… typical. Must be youth—only the young would underestimate someone like you."
Then his eyes narrowed.
"If I'm not mistaken… that's Saul the Giant Lizard. Flying Six member under Kaido.Ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit user. Bounty: 270 million Berries."
270 million?
Luo Yu paused mid-swig of his liquor.
Seeing this, Saul sneered:
"What's wrong, boy? Surprised? You should be. Among the Beasts, the Flying Six are just one step beneath the All-Stars."
"You may be young, but becoming an admiral so early must mean you lack real strength and experience."
"I'm not here to fight. Jack wants to meet you. Come with us."
He turned to Garp and added with a smirk:
"Garp… you'd best not interfere. Jack wants payback for his men. This is a personal vendetta—no need for the Navy to escalate into all-out war, right?"
Sengoku's expression changed.
He finally understood.
Luo Yu's youth made him seem inexperienced—easier to target.
But to walk into Garp's presence and issue threats? That meant this Saul was either very bold or very prepared.
Then Sengoku remembered—Jack was chasing Luo Yu for revenge?
His heart skipped a beat.
"Only 270 million, huh?" Luo Yu muttered, raising his gourd again."That's barely 13.5 million in bonus, at 5% rate."
He did the math on his fingers.
"Jack's bounty is a full billion. That's 50 million bonus."
"Alright then. Where is he? I'll come with you."
His quiet voice echoed across the empty dock.
Everyone stared at Luo Yu in disbelief as he seriously calculated the bounty value of a Flying Six member.
Especially the Straw Hats—who had just been individually priced like livestock.
They suddenly understood…
There was someone in this world who loved money more than Nami.
Luo Yu would sell his own soul for the right price—even to a Yonko.
Saul's expression twisted.
He stared at the calm Luo Yu, standing several dozen meters away, exuding a casual, indifferent air—like he could be killed or win a jackpot, and it'd be the same either way.
This was the first time since becoming one of the Flying Six… that Saul felt the title was an embarrassment.
270 million Berries.
To the world, that was a terrifying pirate.
To this admiral?
Just pocket change.
Not even worth a second glance.
"That's it," Saul muttered, clutching his axe."No more mercy."
