Chapter 1360 Urakyoto Massacre part 2

Chapter 1360 Urakyoto Massacre part 2

"Should we call for reinforcements?" Karia Qira, a short woman with blonde hair flew towards her cousin who was leading everyone, Nuur Qira, a tall blue-haired man who came from the same clan as her. She asked while the Youkai were bombarding the ice barrier with various spells. They don't know how the intruders snuck in but it shouldn't be long before someone discovers their method of entry.

Nuur thought about it for a moment before replying, "No. The Evies are getting aggressive so we can't bother them with this small issue."

"Small? We've confirmed that one of them is Serafall Leviathan. We can't underestimate her." Karia retorted.

Nevertheless, Nuur didn't budge, "We may not be able to take her on directly, but we also don't fight directly." He then turned to her and asked, "What about Yasaka?"

"I can't see what's happening inside that ice but I can assure you that she's writhing in pain right now so they won't be able to use her position to control this space."

"And what if they can block it?"

"That strange burst of Spiritual Power, right? If they can, there's no reason for them to keep Yasaka from making a move. The fact that she's not doing anything right now is a testament to that. Besides, I'm not really attacking Yasaka herself but the leylines she's connected to. Unless they could separate her from the leylines, there's no way for them to block my ability."

While they have the same fundamental ability coming from the same clan, Nuur's [Poison] has more power while Karia is better at controlling and manipulating it.

As they were talking, Nuur could feel the stares of the other Etouldes. Nuur harrumphed at them and raised his voice, "Continue monitoring the situation and make sure that there are no other Youkai that would take action!"

They all scrambled to stay away from them and Nuur scoffed at them. Karia, on the other hand, chuckled, "You didn't have to go so hard on them. They're just hoping."

"That's the problem. The upper echelons of the Etoulde government won't allow something like the Soul Gear to exist. Or at least, they won't allow it to spread to the public."

Overall, the Etoulde could be divided into two groups, the commoners and the nobles.

The nobles who compose the tiny minority of the entire Etoulde population got their status by possessing the bloodlines of 'unique' Spiritual Ability. All of its members possess a unique power that utilizes their Spiritual Power and are considered to be special from the day of their birth due to the power they possess. If by some chance they don't awaken this power, they are degraded into commoners where they'll be kicked out of the clan they belong to.

The commoners, meanwhile, are part of the grand majority of the entire Etoulde population. While they possess the ability to manipulate Spiritual Power, they don't have the same unique characteristics as the ones with the nobles. They are akin to normal Angels and Fallen Angels who have the innate ability to control the Power of Light but don't have unique attributes like the ones Akeno or Barakiel have.

It was because of this divide that there's now a big dilemma within their society. Due to the existence of the Soul Gear that came from the Draconic Deus, the commoners are gaining power. It was discarded at first because even though it's called Soul Gear, it didn't possess any ability that derived from Spiritual Power until it came into possession of a common Etoulde.

What they thought was just a tool that gives its user some Magical Abilities turned out to adapt to whoever wields them. And because Etouldes mostly use their Spiritual Power, the Soul Gear adapted and evolved to give its user a unique Spiritual Ability that they thought was not possible unless their Spiritual Power mutates.

If this was the Sacred Gears, they wouldn't really have a problem because they only have to properly control the Human bloodline as only they could inherit one but the Soul Gear is essentially the opposite of that. As long as they have money and a little bit of connection, anyone could acquire one.

'It was just a small possibility yet here they are, crowding like flies.' Nuur thought to himself. Of course, his attitude stems from the fact that his own special ability isn't that strong compared to the other established members of their clan while also looking down on commoners all this while.

'Thankfully, the Holy Father intends to put an end to this. He saw that it could rupture the Etoulde society and decided it had to be stopped.'

"Nuur!" While deep in his thoughts, he heard his cousin raising her voice. Nuur concentrated back on the bombardment that's happening and saw three people going out, "They are Claire Belial, Tanis, and Medusa. All part of Kisuke Urahara's group."

"Stay back. Let them handle it first." Nuur commanded.

Claire, Tanis, and Medusa separated as soon as they got out of the ice barrier and started attacking the Youkai with non-lethal measures. Upon seeing that, Nuur gave further instructions, "Send out a few healers and their guards. Just heal the downed Youkai and don't approach any further." ℞𝔞Ɲо₿Ёš

The Etouldes and Mercenaries immediately moved and sent out a few people to assist the Youkai group. But as soon as they approached, another group came out of the ice barrier. Four women wearing similar Eastern attire with a variety of single-edge blades sheathed on their hips.

Nuur turned to Karia and asked, "What about them?"

Karia kept tapping on her terminal for a bit before giving an answer a few seconds later, "Unknown. We don't have any data on them. They are not even listed among the mid-tier persons of interest."

Nuur thought that they were just some small fries until one of the women with a relatively petite build with gray eyes and black hair which she wore short with two long braids bound in white cloth, each ending in a large golden ring suddenly disappeared and reappeared within the group of healers he just sent out.

Not even a second later, everyone in that group suddenly stopped moving before they started dropping from the sky with their heads detached from their bodies.

But before she could even react, Karia shouted beside him, "A huge spike in Spiritual Power, detected!"

Nuur turned towards her to ask what she meant. But the same as before, he couldn't voice out any of his concerns when all of a sudden, a beam of red light as big as his head and emanating a huge amount of Spiritual Power engulfed Karia's head.

The beam of light disappeared but along with it was Karia's head. Nuur could only watch in terror as his cousin's headless body dropped to the ground.
