Chapter 6: Becoming A Daddy
'Hmm. What an unexpected development…'
Bi Chen was silent as he watched his new Vassal hug him tightly, her soft and petite body rubbing on his rotting gray flesh. She didn't seem to mind that he was a filthy Zombie, but showered him with all the love and adulation a single person could muster.
He couldn't help but be dazed at this sight.
'Does she see me as her father? Is it because I somehow revived her? I mean, she did say that I saved her…' Bi Chen furrowed his brow and entered deep contemplation. 'But it could also be that she sees me as the person that the noble girl loved most when she was still alive.'
Due to the existence of Gwain, and the mission he got from Imelda's father, Bi Chen knew that the girl had to have a doting father. Plus, the System called Imelda's Remnant Essence that of a deceased noble girl. It could have been a figure of speech, but he chose to take it literally and assume that she was actually a noble.
'She was wearing fancy clothes and all, so I'm guessing her family is quite rich.'
A spoiled rich girl who had a doting father would definitely love her father and see him as her ultimate hero. Therefore, it was reasonable to believe that Imelda currently saw him in that light.
'I could be wrong in my assessment, but it doesn't matter.' He maintained a cold heart as his gaze centered on the giggling girl. 'What matters right now is that she's on my side and holds no grudge at me for killing her. I should still confirm this, though…'
Bi Chen cleared his throat and used his two thin hands to separate his Vassal from him. She had been clinging so tightly to his body, but there was very little resistance when he picked her up and created some distance between the two of them. His body was hunched over a little, due to his sluggish zombie physique, but he was still much larger and stronger than she was.
Even when she was alive, Imelda was only barely above five feet tall, and Bi Chen was a 7 foot tall Zombie. The difference in height was drastic, and so the current sight resembled a mature father looking at their excited child.
Imelda shot him a curious look, one that depicted innocence.
She was cute, like a baby, with the way she bobbed her head and cocked it to the side while observing his stoic expression.
"Tell me… do you remember anything about your life before I raised you?"
"Erm… well… some fuzzy details here and there." Imelda was rather honest about everything. She placed a finger on her chin and spoke without any kind of hesitation. "I remember my background as Imelda, the last daughter of the Korgstone Family. My father… siblings… ah, and also my Aunt—!"
"Do you remember how you died?"
"Y-yes. You killed me." Imelda's expression dimmed a little when she muttered those words, a complex expression forming on her face.
"Do you not despise me for that?" Bi Chen asked calmly. "I wouldn't blame you if you did."
"…."
For a moment, Imelda couldn't speak.
It was almost like she was processing everything—her memories and emotions—so she could give the most accurate answer that she could. Bi Chen waited patiently, his body completely motionless as his eerie dark eyes remained fixed on her.
After nearly a minute of silence, Imelda finally parted her small lips and let melodious words echo out.
"I don't feel any resentment at all for you, Daddy! You brought me to life, and you're the most important being to me in the whole world. I feel so much… admiration and devotion towards you that it feels like my chest is about to explode. I don't understand this feeling myself, but I know it's real."
"Real?"
"The fact that I love you."
'She loves me? This must be the effect of her becoming my Undying Vassal.'
Bi Chen noted that this was quite different from the Master/Slave relationship he was used to in "Please Touch Me, Master."
In the world of Alteir, even though Slaves were completely devoted to their Masters, it didn't mean they had to love them. In fact, as seen in the case of Gwain, a lot of Slaves despised their Masters and would screw them over if given the chance to. This was because Masters had absolute control over them and made them do whatever the Master wanted—even if it was against the will of the Slave.
They were no more than living weapons—puppets—at the hands of their Masters.
'There will naturally be some Slaves that grow attached to their Masters and develop love for them, but that's more akin to Stockholm Syndrome than actual love.' In this messed up world, with such a perverted system, there was no way he could ever view the relationship between a Slave and Master to be balanced or normal.
The possibility of 'true love' to exist between Master and Slave was too low.
It was practically impossible.
'But… it seems my Vassals are born with that filial love towards me. She sees me as a parent, her family, and her devotion for me seems endless.'
Bi Chen was still not satisfied with his conjecture and wanted to see how fat he could push.
"Do you only view me as a parent? What about romantically? Sexually? If I told you to pleasure me, would you do so?"
"Yes! I would love to do that!" Imelda beamed instantly, both hands clasped. Her eyes shone with lust and her cheeks showed a mild pink hue. Steam proceeded from her moist lips, a product of her licking it seductively.
It was evident at that moment that his relationship with her wasn't purely filial.
'So… love in every sense of the word, huh?'
Bi Chen was satisfied with this.
It was possible that Imelda was lying to deceive him, but he highly doubted it. He had been watching her very keenly from the start, and all her responses felt very natural. Besides, how could a noble girl stoop so low as to express such pure love for a zombie like him without any form of disgust in her expression or body language.
This was the real deal—an Undying Vassal superior to a Slave in terms of loyalty.
'This is a much greater gain than I expected.' Bi Chen made a small smile, but quickly changed his expression once he noticed Imelda's troubled expression.
"Something on your mind?"
"W-well… I, I was just wondering if… you hate me… or something?"
'Hate? Where is all this coming from?' Bi Chen wondered to himself. "And why would I hate you?"
"B-because of how I treated you when I was still alive! I was so cruel to you, and you told me that you would understand if I bore resentment towards you for killing me, which means there's a strong chance you also despise me for what I did to you back then."
"Ohh… that." He smiled.
Bi Chen had actually not suffered any kind of harm at Imelda's hands.
He was a transmigrator from Earth, so he held no memories of Imelda's abuse. He indeed caught a glimpse of her nasty personality, but he managed to accidentally kill her before she could even harm him.
As a result, he felt no ill will towards her at all.
In fact, he felt relief.
'With this Undying Vassal, my journey in this world will be much easier. If I can make more Vassals, then I'll be able to fight like a Master without putting myself in harm's way at all. Also, I will have companions, so I won't have to experience hardship by myself.'
Of course, Bi Chen was still worried about the difficulties that accompanied living in this world, but he found the situation to be slightly more hopeful than before.
As a result, his will to live was re-ignited.
'I can always kill myself if things get too hard, anyway.' He nodded, calling Imelda close with one of his hands.
She instantly obeyed, her eyes displaying concern. It was clear that she didn't want him to hate her, and she was constantly worried that he wouldn't reciprocate her feelings for him.
"You have nothing to fear, my dear." He hugged her this time, his large zombie easily overshadowing her petite frame. Even though he smeared his filth on her, she didn't mind at all, and she instead gave a smile of bliss.
She was completely his, and Bi Chen smiled in satisfaction upon noticing this. 'If this is what being a daddy is, then I don't mind at all!'
In fact, he now desired even more children.
"From this moment on, you will be my first Undying Vassal… Ash, lady of the fallen. As for me, you can cease calling me Daddy. Instead, call me by name." As much as he wanted to become a daddy, he still found the title a bit uncomfortable.
He preferred something far more natural, especially when he held no filial ties with the girl.
"A-Ash… what a lovely name." Formerly Imelda, now Ash, beamed with delight, before looking up at her lord and asking with absolute curiosity, "What is your name?"
Bi Chen smiled.
His name on Earth was Bi Chen, but in this world he was nothing but a Nameless Zombie.
But so what? In this new world, he simply had to forge his own identity, and something the System said gave him a perfect idea for that.
"I am the Sovereign Undying Lord… you may call me Lord Bi."
