Pokemon: A different Ash

Kadabra, the evolved form of Abra, could be described as its elder counterpart. Unlike the small and childlike Abra, Kadabra has a larger, more imposing form and no longer requires extended periods of rest. It sports a thick, bushy tail, holds a spoon in one hand, has two long whisker-like mustaches on its face, and features a distinct five-pointed star emblem on its forehead.

Outside the battlefield:

"What?! It evolved now?!" Misty exclaimed in shock. When Abra evolves into Kadabra, its Psychic power increases dramatically, which could completely shift the course of the battle.

"In the Pokémon League, it's within the rules for Pokémon to evolve during battles," Brock said with a grave expression. "But in this situation, it's definitely going to make things tougher."

"Sabrina... it seems she doesn't just rely on her Pokémon's Psychic abilities," Brock added, frowning.

"You're not suggesting that she used her Psychic powers to force Abra to evolve, are you?" Misty asked, incredulous. The idea sent a chill down her spine—if that were true, Sabrina's Psychic abilities were beyond extraordinary.

"It's not impossible," Brock replied. "Psychic Pokémon draw power from Psychic energy, and Sabrina's abilities might be strong enough to influence that process."

Hearing this, Misty glanced at Ash with concern. Now that Abra had evolved, the battle ahead was bound to be much harder.

"Shadow Ball!"

Ash commanded, and his Ghost-type Pokémon fired a Shadow Ball toward Kadabra. However, the protective barrier surrounding Kadabra reflected the attack with ease. The move had little effect, but Ash wasn't deterred.

After the Shadow Ball was deflected, the Devileon floated back into the air, gathering its energy. It released another Shadow Ball, this time directly targeting Kadabra's protective shield.

A loud explosion rang out, and smoke enveloped the battlefield, swallowing Kadabra in the process.

"Use Swift!" Ash ordered. Without giving the opponent a chance to recover, the Devileon unleashed Swift. Even through the smoke-filled air, the homing stars of the move tracked their target.

"Kadabra, use Swift!" Sabrina commanded, her eyes glinting with Psychic energy. From within the smoke, a radiant blue light emerged, clearing the area in an instant. The stars from Swift froze mid-air, suspended in the blue aura emanating from Kadabra's spoon.

"Kiraaaa!" 

With a flash of light, Kadabra's eyes glowed fiercely. The suspended stars reversed direction and launched back toward Ash's Pokémon with increased speed.

"Charge forward!" Ash yelled, his voice resolute. His Devileon fearlessly rushed toward the incoming attack. As Swift hurtled toward it, the stars simply passed harmlessly through its ethereal body. 

Sabrina's expression shifted slightly. Realizing the Devileon was immune to Normal-type moves, she understood Swift was ineffective. 

"Kadabra, use Psybeam!"

Sabrina adjusted her strategy, and Kadabra raised its spoon, gathering a wave of pink energy. The Psybeam shot out in a dazzling, pixel-like display of circular, triangular, and square energy.

"Counter with Shadow Ball!" Ash called. His Pokémon quickly gathered its own energy and released another Shadow Ball. The two attacks clashed at the center of the battlefield with a powerful explosion, sending waves of energy rippling through the arena.

The battle raged on, with both trainers pushing their Pokémon to their limits.

Bang! Boom Boom Boom! 

The two energy streams collided with a deafening explosion, sending shockwaves through the battlefield as the smoke expanded to engulf the entire area. 

"Phantom Force!" Ash commanded. The battlefield was obscured, but Ash knew his Devileon could use Phantom Force to evade danger and set up a counterattack. 

With a burst of purple energy, the Devileon vanished into the void. Sabrina frowned slightly, recognizing the troublesome nature of the move. 

"Teleport!" Sabrina countered immediately, ordering Kadabra to evade. 

As the Devileon reappeared from the shadows, poised to strike, Kadabra instantly disappeared, avoiding the attack and materializing behind its opponent. 

"Psybeam!" Sabrina called, wasting no time. 

Boom! 

A vibrant stream of Psybeam energy shot toward the Devileon. Ash reacted swiftly, "Use Dig!" 

The Devileon dove into the ground, burrowing rapidly to avoid the colorful attack. The Psybeam struck the ground harmlessly, creating another small explosion. 

"So you're trying that strategy again?" Sabrina muttered, narrowing her eyes. "This time, I won't be fooled." She recalled how Ash had previously used this tactic to counter Teleport. 

However, Ash smirked at her words. Sabrina immediately sensed something was amiss. 

Boom! 

The ground behind Kadabra erupted as the Devileon burst from below. This time, rather than combining Phantom Force with a sneak attack, it used a straightforward Dig. Sabrina was momentarily caught off guard by the shift in tactics. 

"Kadabra, use Teleport to dodge!" Sabrina ordered quickly. 

"It's too late! Use Confuse Ray!" Ash declared. 

In the blink of an eye, the Devileon's eyes glowed, and the gem-like mark on its forehead emitted a vivid, strange red light. The light hit Kadabra directly as it turned, before it could Teleport away. 

Kadabra's expression twisted as the Confuse Ray took hold. Its eyes glazed over, and it staggered backward, wobbling unsteadily as it clutched its head and shook wildly. 

"Now, use Iron Tail!" Ash seized the opportunity to strike. 

The Devileon leaped forward without hesitation, its twin tails shimmering with metallic energy. It lunged at Kadabra, striking with incredible force. 

Boom! 

The attack landed cleanly on the confused Kadabra, who was unable to react. Sabrina's attempts to issue commands were futile as her Pokémon flailed helplessly, unable to focus. 

The tables had turned, and Ash was in control of the battle.
