Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 119: Chapter 119: The Sinner, Ron?

"Brother, what are we waiting for? Let's go teach that guy Ron a lesson!"

"You have no idea how he humiliated me on the battlefield back then!"

Since arriving in Celadon City, Simon had been sticking closely to his older brother, eagerly waiting to see Ron face his downfall. The moment Simon learned that Ron was here, his excitement boiled over.

Watching his younger brother act so foolishly gave Ryan a headache.

From a young age, Ryan had spoiled his only sibling to no end—even going so far as to get him a Growlithe. As long as Simon passed his assessment, Ryan planned to bring him onto the police force to work at his side.

What Ryan hadn't expected was that his pampered brother would turn out so disappointing. Despite Ryan's help, Simon still couldn't pass the assessment to become a probationary officer.

Even after Ryan taught him how to train Growlithe, Simon chose to listen to others' bad advice, prematurely evolving Growlithe with the lowest-quality Fire Stone. This recklessness had permanently damaged the Pokémon's potential.

Now, looking at his brother's lack of progress, Ryan couldn't help but regret whether he'd been too indulgent.

"Calm down! Just look at yourself right now!"

"Didn't you read the newspapers a few days ago? That guy is now a favorite of the Rangers. If you go after him recklessly, do you even know how to spell the word 'death'?"

Hearing his brother's scolding, Simon quieted down, looking as if he were about to cry.

"Alright, enough with the pitiful act," Ryan sighed, softening. "I'm just saying we can't act against him now. That doesn't mean we'll never have the chance."

"In the coming days, I'll think of a way to ruin his reputation. Once that's done, I'll deal with him at my leisure."

After reprimanding his brother, Ryan couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt seeing Simon's dejected face. Having raised Simon for so many years, Ryan had been both brother and parent to him, shaping Simon's personality along the way.

For instance, anyone who dared to humiliate Simon would inevitably face Ryan's wrath. This time would be no exception.

Meanwhile, Ron left the department store and returned directly to the Pokémon Center to await his gym battle.

To his surprise, Ryan's expected retaliation never came.

Still, Ron had a nagging feeling that Simon wouldn't let the matter rest so easily.

Remaining on high alert, he continued his daily training.

On the afternoon of his third day in Celadon City, Ron finally left the Pokémon Center, intending to visit the Game Corner. This way, once his gym battle concluded tomorrow, he could leave Celadon City and resume his journey.

As soon as he stepped outside, Ron's Kirlia issued a warning. Someone was watching him with ill intent.

To ease his mind, Ron had recently assigned Kirlia a new task: to stay vigilant while inside her Poké Ball. It seemed this precaution was indeed necessary.

Without hesitation, Ron walked and pulled out his Pokédex to contact Lugo, the Ranger.

Regardless of whether Simon's brother was behind this, Ron saw no harm in reaching out to Lugo. After all, anyone harboring malicious intent against him wasn't worth sparing. With Lugo's position as a Ranger and an official of the League, it was well within his jurisdiction to intervene.

Ron's mindset was simple: if someone dared to target him, they'd pay the price. If not with their life, then at least with heavy losses.

Two or three minutes later, Ron put his Pokédex back against his chest and continued walking toward the Game Corner.

"Stay here and watch. I'll show you how to properly deal with someone."

In his office, Ryan dismissed Simon, sending him back to his residence. Having Simon at the police station would only complicate Ryan's next steps.

Meanwhile, Ron, nearing the Game Corner, found his path blocked by two individuals.

"Hello, we're police officers. We suspect you're involved in a murder case. Please come with us," one officer said, showing his badge, while the other reached for Ron's Poké Balls, intending to seize them and leave Ron defenseless.

"I'd advise you not to act rashly," Ron said coldly. "Without evidence or my confirmation of your identities, I have the right to retaliate."

"I'm willing to accompany you to the station to clear this up. If I attempt to escape or act suspiciously, then you'll have grounds to act. But until then, you have no reason to confiscate my Pokémon."

"One more thing," Ron added. "My Pokémon has already started recording. If you try any tricks to frame me, you'll only be sealing your own fate."

The officers hesitated, realizing Ron wasn't an easy target. His knowledge of League rules and his calm demeanor threw a wrench in their plans.

Still, they had no choice but to proceed. Left and right, they flanked Ron and escorted him to the station. As Ron had warned, they didn't dare try anything underhanded, knowing the consequences of being exposed through a Pokédex recording.

Once at the station, Ron was treated almost like a VIP, being brought directly to Deputy Chief Ryan.

"So, you're Ron?" Ryan sneered. "To think you'd commit such a heinous crime as murder. I suggest you confess."

Without flinching, Ron replied, "Without evidence, I refuse to answer any questions. I've already contacted Ranger Captain Lugo. He's on his way."

Ron's icy gaze locked onto Ryan. Thanks to Kirlia's warning, Ron had already deduced that this man—who bore a striking resemblance to Simon—must be his brother.

Ryan, on the other hand, hadn't expected Ron to act so decisively, especially not by summoning Lugo. This development threw his plans into disarray.
