Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Tomo's Sad Story

(Soon, the group returns to the Ranger Station to hear the whole story.)

Ranger Jenny: "Tomo's real name was Tommy. It all started five years ago. Tomo was three years old when his parents decided to take him on a family trip around the world. They happened to be flying over the Safari Zone. Suddenly, the engine of their helicopter caught on fire and the plane crashed and Tommy's parents died in the crash,"

(Jenny says.)

Misty: "That's terrible,"

(Misty says.)

Brock: "But what happened to Tomo?"

(Brock asks.)

Ranger Jenny: "Along with myself, the other rangers discovered the plane and a parachute hanging on a tree distance away from the crash. So we suspected that his parents were able to save Tommy before the plane crashed. He searched from him until the largest Kangaskhan, who is the head of the herd, found Tommy and adopted him. He's been living with them,"

(Jenny says.)

Brock: "So he has never been with other humans?"

(Brock asks.)

Ranger Jenny: "Except for me and anyone else who worked in the Safari Zone, he doesn't have much contact with anyone,"

(Jenny says.)

Misty: "Wow,"

(Misty says, amazed.)

(Then turns to Mew.)

Misty: "Sounds a lot like you, Mew."

Mew: "I suppose,"

(Mew says.)

(Curious, Jenny asks.)

Ranger Jenny: "Hmm, why do you say that?"

(Mew feels a bit reluctant about sharing her past.)

(Mew then decides to tell Jenny.)

Mew: "To tell you the truth Ranger Jenny, Tomo actually reminds me of me, before I come to stay with Professor Oak at his lab."

Ranger Jenny: "Really?"

(Jenny asks, surprised.)

Mew: "Yes. A long time ago, I was found by Zeraora, who is the master and protector in a forest outside of Pallet Town. He found me when I was a baby, floating down a river. He decided to raise me, and I lived in the forest with little contact with humans. Some of the Pokemon help me bring a few things so I can learn human language,"

(Mew says.)

Ranger Jenny: "So you are just like Tomo,"

(Jenny replies.)

Mew: "Yeah. I lived in the forest for eight years until Professor Oak and Gary found me in the forest. And soon, I started living with Professor Oak at his lab, with Eevee,"

(Mew says.)

Eevee: "Eevee." (That's right.)

(Eevee replies.)

Misty: "And Mew can actually understand Pokemon,"

(Misty says.)

Ranger Jenny: "Really?"

(Jenny asks, interested.)

Mew: "Well, for as long as I can remember, I'm able to understand Pokemon. I'm not sure why though. Of course, I think part of the reason why because I've been living with Pokemon practically most of my life. And sometimes, I'm able to talk just like the Pokemon do,"

(Mew says.)

Ranger Jenny: "I see. I'm sure Tomo will be happy to know there is someone like him,"

(Jenny says.)

Mew: "I sure like to meet Tomo. Maybe we can share each other's interest and Pokemon communications,"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "But how are we going to find him?"

(Misty asks.)

Ranger Jenny: "Don't worry, you won't have to look far, his address is listed right here in the Safari Zone directory,"

(Jenny says, holding Tomo's documents.)

Misty: "Well, that wasn't so hard,"

(Misty says.)

Mew: "Come on, let's go find Tomo,"

(Mew happily says.)

(Soon, Mew and her friends begin to walk around the Safari Zone to search for Tomo.)

(Of course, they have to promise Jenny they won't try to catch any Pokemon while they're exploring.)

(They soon come to realize that searching for a young boy in the Safari Zone is harder than it looks.)

Misty: "How hard can it be to search for an eight year old boy?"

(Misty asks, looking around.)

Mew: "It's probably because Tomo is swinging around in the Safari Zone somewhere,"

(Mew says.)

Brock: "According to Ranger Jenny, his home should be close to where we are,"

(Brock says.)

(Suddenly, Pikachu notices something.)

Pikachu: "Pika?" (What that?)

(Up ahead, the group then notices something on the ground.)

Mew: "Wait. What's that?"

(Mew wonders.)

(The group rushes over to see a baby Kangaskhan covered in scratches and bruises, and is crying in pain.)

Misty: "A baby Kangaskhan,"

(Misty worriedly says.)

(Mew then picks up the baby Kangaskhan.)

Mew: "Poor baby Kangaskhan, she's badly hurt."

Brock: "Leave it to me!"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "Can you help her, Brock?"

(Mew asks.)

Brock: "Don't forget, Mew,"

(Brock says.)

(Then brings out the Super Potion.)

Brock: "I've been studying to be the world's best Pokemon Breeder.

(Brock then pets the baby Pokemon.)

Brock: "You'll be just fine. This'll sting a little, but it'll make your wound heal faster. I promise."

Mew: "It's okay little one, Brock will take good care of you,"

(Mew says.)

(Brock then sprays the Super Potion on the infant, causing her to cry out in pain.)

Mew: "It's okay little Kangaskhan, it's okay. It may hurt, but you'll feel better in no time,"

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, a boomerang begins to come at them.)

(Misty notices it and panics.)

Misty: "Look out behind you!"

(Everyone quickly moves out of the way as it flies behind them and doubles back.)

(Soon, Tomo lands on the ground and catches his Boomerang.)

Misty: "Tomo!"

(Misty says, surprised.)

(Tomo angrily says.)

Tomo: "You hurt Kangaskhan! That bad!"

(Misty gets up in front of the others.)

Misty: "No we didn't! Brock and Mew were just trying to help the baby Kangaskhan because it hurt! That is until you threw your boomerang at them! Now, apologize!

(Soon, Tomo just stares at Misty.)

(Confused, Misty asks.)

Misty: "Uh, what's the matter?"

Tomo: "You people or Pokemon?"

(Tomo asks.)

(Misty nearly falls over in embarrassment and then whacks Tomo.)

Misty: "I'm a person, you creep!"

Mew: "Oh my,"

(Mew says, and giggles.)

Misty: "What are you laughing at?!"

(Misty angrily asks.)

(Tomo looks at Mew and Brock, and asks.)

Tomo: "You Pokemon or peoples?

Misty: "They peoples! Uh, people!"

(Misty quickly answers.)

Mew: "Okay Misty, I think Tomo is a little confused,"

(Mew says.)

(Holding the baby Kangaskhan, Mew says.)

Mew: "Hello Tomo, my name is Mew it's nice to meet you. My friends and I were actually trying to help the baby Kangaskhan."

baby Kangaskhan: "Kangas Kangas Kangaskhan Kangaskhan," (It's true, they were really helping me big brother.)

(The baby Kangaskhan says.)

(Confused Mew asks Tomo.)

Mew: "You're her big brother?"

(Surprised, Tomo asks.)

Tomo: "You know what little sister is saying?"

Mew: "Um yeah. Mew can understand Pokemon, Mew knows what Pokemon are saying. Mew also lived with Pokemon in a forest,"

(Mew says.)

(Interested, Tomo asks.)

Tomo: "Tomo is like Mew?"

Mew: "Mew is like Tomo,"

(Mew happily says.)

Tomo: "Tomo happy to meet you,"

(Tomo says.)

Mew: "Mew is happy too,"

(Mew says.)

(Misty and Brock along with Pikachu and Eevee watch as Mew and Tomo are talking to each other.)

Misty: "I think it's sweet. Mew and Tomo are able to talk to each other,"

(Misty says.)

Brock: "Yeah. They're almost like brother and sister,"

(Brock says.)

(Suddenly, Jenny arrives in her car.)

Ranger Jenny: "I need your help! Someone's poaching Kangaskhan again!"

(The group becomes shocked to hear this.)

(And soon, Tomo springs into action and hops from tree to tree.)

Tomo: "Kanga Kangaskhan!"

Mew: "Tomo!"

(Mew calls out.)

Eevee: "Eevee!" (Wait for us!)

(Eevee calls out.)

(Everyone else hops into the jeep.)

Mew: "Come on, let's go!"

(Mew says.)

(Jenny drives the jeep to where the Kangaskhan herd is.)

(The group hears Tomo Kangaskhan cry as they drive through the jungle.)
